But to answer the question, the sun does not rise and set on Mortal Kombat. I wouldn't worry about any video game really.

There is nothing to be jealous about being resurrected. Look at poor Johny Cage! I see the same thing happening to Kitana.
I think we should put aside the fact that we love or like the character, and get realistic. It sucks.

But on the bright side, Kitana being evil has many possibilites, not just for her, but for Sindel, Jade, and Mileena.
Onaga just did to Kitana what Shao Kahn did to Sindel in MK3. Now it's really personal for Sindel.
How will Mileena react when she finds out the Dragon King is keeping Kitana alive? I'm guessing she's going to be pissed...

I found it funny that Kitana dies and gets resurrected by th DK. It was nothing that I didn't expect from Midway. Sonya and Johnny Cage need to die.

i am being serious i like the story, besides she could be decieving the dragon king. his majic/power might not have worked 100% and right now she id just pretending to be on his side...
sindels old granny look bad. she kills herself shao kahn bring her to life.. now she is 1 hot kool character.. johnny ugly and dull in mk1-2.. mktril brought to life looking badass.. liu kang dies in mkda w/ that damn mk 3-gold look, comes back to life looking like his kool mk2 self..

It is actually awesome she is evil again. I liked her more evil, but they should had done something different, killing her was the worst idea.

I agree. There are better ways to make Kitana evil again without killing/resurrecting her.
Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll alter it at the last second. It's just one sentence, they can change it.

Honestly, I don't have a fundamental problem with Edenians or Outworlders or whathaveyou being resurrected. It's a whole different ball game over there. But when American film stars are just getting magically brought back to life and no one asks any questions... it's puzzling.

I'll agree that killing off Kitana only to resurrect her and turn her evil, wasn't the best move. I think it could force characters like Sindel and Jade to take a lead role in the fight against Onaga. I think it's fine, as long as she's not a playable character. If she's a playable character than that means that she is still a big part of the story. If she's kept on the sidelines than that means that there is the possibility that the Dragon King only resurrected her to deceive Sindel into thinking that her daughter was captured. Lure the Queen of Edenia into Outworld so that Onaga can kill her there.
Thoughts? Would it make the situation better or worse if she wasn't a playable character?

Hell, with Deathtraps, it's now possible to kill your opponent every ROUND! I think the development team is trying to tell us something, but we're not quite getting it.

This may have been overlooked by some, but what if the Dragon King has given Kitana more power upon ressurecting her? If he did this she's be a lot more formidable in battle and her already deadly skills would be heightened. As a general in his army, and a former Earth warrior, Kitana will now play a heavy part in the Deception.

I admit though Im not a fan of ressurections, unless theres a decent reason. I'll wait and see. The Dragon King should have put and evil curse on her instead and made her serve him. That would have been a better twist I think. (Also it says she fell in battle....I'm not surprised...all that blood from the DA's fights and her going in with heels on. Would have been slippy. Tut Tut Kitana.)
But in saying that it shows she is Key to the Mortal Kombat universe if Onaga himself is reviving her from all the many people in the universe to be his protector. i said for ages he should ahve kick ass female guards/assassins.
Lets hope Ashrah keeps the Ba Gua style and Kitana gets a btter one.

In all honesty, who cares who is resurrected. You all get bent out of shape because people die and then return, but you need to understand the world in which they live. The MK world is not the real world.. It is a world inhabited by gods, immortals and men with magical abilities. It is not so far fetched to see people ressurrected when you treat this as you would a RPG set in a similar world.
Beyond that fact, remember what happens when you die in this reality. You die and go to netherrealm, like Quan Chi did, Scorpion did, and Johnny Cage did. Now think about it, how many times have portals opened between earthrealm in the netherrealm, or outworld and the netherrealm? Resurrection is a part of this world whether we like it or not. Time to deal with it... it isn't going to change people.
You don't have to like it, just don't be all surprised when it happens... cause we all know its gonna happen again!

I think Q-man was referring to Scorpions storyline and general idea behind him. Not that he was specifically resurrected in a game, but that is the idea behind him.
