Replace the "What? Booooo!" with groans and "Noooo," and that is what happened. wink It was definitely NOT a positive reaction.

His picture is the hardest to see in the video, so I am quite curious to see his render as well.

There are quite clearly lower "yeah"s in the crowd, in what I think was a quieter, but still positive reaction.

The excitement definitely ramped up, but I think the noise is really more of a gasp-cheer, than any of the negatives a lot of people seem to want to hear.

Anyone listening can clearly hear a continuous clap and yeah cheer, but I think what's distracting people is more of a lower oooh of shock, rather than the negative people seem to want to hear.

I have to acknowledge it's not clear, and the interruption of the deeper oohhh is a little distracting, but there really doesn't seem to be any negativity there. Which makes sense. This isn't Mokap, or Hsu Hao, and if the reaction for the comic characters is any indication of the crowd split, it's hard to imagine comic fans having any special malice for Jax.

The dramatic increase in cheers probably isn't helping interpretation, either. It was definitely comparably subdued, but I don't think that's negativity.

I think you should watch the clip again. While you can hear a lower "yea" from someone in the audience, it is drowned out by the groan (and not an ooh of surprise) and a distinct "No!" from someone else. The mood of the crowd immediately changed. You could feel the disappointment.

The reaction overall was negative no matter how you try to spin it. I am pretty ambivalent about Jax as a character. His inclusion or absence from the game would not affect me one way or the other. I am not hearing what I want to hear, but only what is plainly obvious.

I'm sure somebody mentioned it already, but keep in mind that this here is a Comic-con. Who are the attendees, then? Why,that's right, the comicfags.
It's perfectly understandable that the DC characters would get a standing ovation (even the freaking Shazam, lolwut?),while the MK characters would get a much more lukewarm reception.

I was thinking that Shazam was well recieved because the announcer sounds funny saying it. Well, atleast it sounded funny to me. I admit that.

Jax and Kitana are both cool imo so i'm happy. As far as the whole "Shazam" (It's Capt. Marvel dammit!) thing goes, i'd prefer Black Adam... maybe we will get Black Adam as well... Anyone who has read 52 will realise that Black Adam is BAD ASS.

Joker was always going to be in it. It may as well be MK vs Batman at this rate. Not that that's a bad thing.

When I 1st watched the movie I thought the NO was a positive one, never came to my mind it was a negative one becasue Jax looks awsome and I was expecting him to be in the game.

But after watching the movie several times I realized that the NO was meant to be a disappointment.

That's something everyone keeps hating in the boards, but we honestly cant tell much from that small picture. While she does bring Tanya to mind, we cant know for sure till the high-res render. I guess they are basing on a (very) smaller "better quality" pic of Kitana I've seen, and she does resemble Tanya's MK4 look.

Captain Marvel got a huge, positive reaction b/c he's never been in a game before. Fans have only really been able to see his powers on paper. They've always wanted to be able to "control" his powers in a game or see them in live action. This game and his movie are what Captain Marvel fans have been waiting for. His popularity is going to grow exponentially in the next 2-3 years. After that I think DC will finally be able to start and keep an ongoing comic for Captain Marvel. Especially, if Black Adam is involved in the storyline.

I agree with everything you said in regards to Kitana, Leo.

Since Jade isn't likely to make it in, maybe they should've used HER as the influence for Kitana's new look. I personally really like Jade's latest look, and there are many things you could change and add or take from it. Then, when Jade comes back in a future game, redo her, or Kitana.

I also think they should've let her hair down. It would've looked great in the new graphics.

Movie? Haven't DC fans learned that if it isn't a Batman movie it will suck hard? Hell even a couple of the Batman movies sucked really bad. I doubt Captain Marvel will reach significant popularity just because of MK vs DC.

i cant believe some one is saying she needs to be wearing tha ghetto Purple costume maskless WTF O_o

we really cant judge the look of kitana ust yet until we get a high res render.

however

1 ~ No bun + long hair = PLUS
2 ~ Blue outfit = PLUS
3 ~ No purple = PLUS
4 ~ Masked ~ w/ or w/ out im ok w/ it. id would rather have her be mask less though

i dont like the huge Boobs, wtf O_o how is she standing w/ those things??

I guess her mask can be ripped off while she gets brutal punches/kicks from her opponent. Lets hope so.
