Alright did you guys hear the reaction from the crowd ? Everyone went nuts for Joker and Green Lantern, and Jax and Kittana went down like a fart in church.

Im slowly changing my position on this game from being a piece of shit, to thinking it should have just been a stand alone product.

Its like pizza and ice cream ........ alone their good, but when combined, they make you want to throw up.

When Midways marketing team said " Hey we can get the DC license ", why didn't Boon and Co. just say fuck it, put MK on hold, and just make a DC Fighting game. Their are obviously lots of people that want a DC fighting game, which is why some MK fans are giving this game a chance, but why not just make it a stand alone product.

Im just saying that this game is getting further and further from the Mortal Kombat aspect, and is both starting to look, seem and be marketed and catered too the DC Universe.

This game should just be called "DC Universe " then in small text under it ( featuring mortal kombat characters ). I just think by mixing the two franchises, MK is getting the shitty end of the stick.

Well..lol it wasn't "huge booing" ha, ha but man Jax reeked the worst easily out of all of them dude. He's a waste because he's more or less a male Sonya....they could have easily put in someone better like Ermac, Smoke or Quan someone like that. Now most likely the final 4/5 slots will take up Cage, Raiden, Shao Kahn(I'm still not entirely convinced about the merge until Midway confirms lol) and perhaps Kano someone like that. As for Ermac, I don't think they make him less ninja like because he is a ninja. MKD said it in the Ermac concepts when they were making him with the revamped look. What they should do it make him more "master" like yet retain his ninja look. That was one of the big reasons in MKD he was liked a lot because his look was revamped, retained that ninja-like look yet at the same time looked way different then the others. He would be competing with Scorpion, Sub etc anyway unfortunately. But what I wish we can do some how is that poll that Predator151 made twice in the past year with ninja popularity had Sub being first and Ermac second, Scorp third. I think that says a lot. Hopefully, next MK game Ermac and Smoke will make it in there

well apparently the perspective time line is around MKII so ermac and quan chi wouldn't make sense going by THEIR development stand point. smoke is a possibility but i'd honestly say that jax and smoke are on the same level as far as fan are concerned. with smoke ahead only because he used to be a "ninja".

and really the only similarity between sonya and jax is their military background outside of that they're totally unique.

I think Jax and Kitana are just like the other announced characters, they were expected and aren't that big of a deal,lol.

*sigh* As a Kitana fan I am not impressed AT ALL with this. Maybe when I see her render up close my mind will change, but as of right now I am disappointed in the the design that they have seemingly given her. Nothing but a variation of her ultimate mortal kombat 3 look. And she's masked, ugh! I didn't want that. Where the hell are her fans too by the way. And her pose is so un-lady like, Kitana is regal and and despite being a warrior is quite soft and feminine in nature. Would have been nice to see a pose like the ones below.

I just don't like all the stupid stereotypes, and the fact that, regardless of the now, "1000" some odd war games coming out in the last 10yeas, they STILL refuse to underscore SOLDIER. There's more than ample examples of what a soldier looks, performs, and speaks like now. What's the problem?

Jax is supposed to almost never speak, but to compensate that, his actions should be extremely intelligent. Like watching a Lion or something hunt prey.

He's supposed to be objective oriented, and when he does say something, that generic "Yes Sir" mentality does not apply. Special Forces agents generally, take the mission. But after that, they then pretty much do whatever the fuck they want! Haha.. Model his personality after Wesley Snipes, Michael Jai White, and Silvester Stalone in the Universal soldier movies or something. Or the soldiers in the first couple Predator movies. "We were soldiers", or any other good military movies. sheez man..lol

He's there to cover Sonya. They need to play more Call of Duty, or Tom Clancy games. Hell, mix some of the personality that Battlefield Bad Company has in it's soldiers. That would work beautifully.

Controversial statement:

In MK3-T the bionic arms were fine. But from my perspective, that was only so because they just painted over the guys arms. Looked like his arms were completely replaced instead of augmented. That, and the Terminator was still really prevalent back then.

Now though? Get those ridiculous things off that SOLDIER, give him a gun, and an abrasive, objective oriented, over protective mentality.

And if, like it looks, that they have put the bionic arms back on him, NO GUNS. His arms are the "guns", in a couple of matters of speaking. Use those instead of the over obsessed stereotypical "big huge black guy, with all the power in the world, AND super-technology ON HIM, yet still needs a gun" ?!? Gotta be kidding me..

So, let me get this straight. He's a member of the most respected facet of the U.S. Military.....and he's insecure and doubts his own abilities? lmao! You don't get there with those problems...and if you do, your personality is so sheilded and obscure in comparisons to your actions it doesn't make any sense that you could be those things + high ranked military officer.

That doesn't represent any fighter, let alone "black people" correctly.

So anyway, since they insisted on having him in there, they at least have to make him over right. Until I find out otherwise, I'll continue to like Kai and Jade much better than him.

I don't understand how some people are already critically judging Kitana's look when that low quality image doesn't even show much. Yes, you can see the main idea of it ,but thats about it. I for one love the look and don't mind that its something that we have seen before with some alterations. The same thing goes for the other MK characters like Sub, Scorpion, Shang, and Sonyo. Sub and Scorpion have their traditional ninja outfit, nothing new or revamped. Shang's outfit is similar to that of MK2-MK3. Sonyo, well all she has is a plain white Tshirt and some Cargo pants, I don't see how thats a huge step forward for Sonya, and her look is similar to that of MK4.

I'm sure the majority of the Kitana fans will be pleased by it, those who aren't, well if you haven't been a fan of hers before then Im not sure there is anything that will change your mind now. As long as Kitana's long time fans like her new look, then its all good.

Well I for one AM a long time fan of Kitana have been since Mk 2. There for I want her done right. This is a recycled outfit and that is one thing that pisses me off about it. Are they so fresh out of design ideas that they had to use a costume she has already worn. Hell at this point I'd even settle for a blue version of Mileena's Deception costume, at least it was unique. But as I said before, maybe when I see the high quality render my mind will change, but not right now.

And I agree with her. And yeah, we need to wait for a high res render obviously, for all of them, but this picture pretty much tells us what all those characters look like and what to expect. Joker’s low quality pic is pretty much the main idea of the high render pic we’ve seen too. Except for the great details, everything else is the same.

And (not counting Liu Kang obviously) even though all the other characters retain classic elements of their classic looks, they all look and feel new. Very new and unique.

Well, its comic-con, more people know about DC then MK in there.

And Jax wasn’t as badly booed as some people are making it out to be. It was just someone who didn’t like him and said no and a few others fallowed, not much really.



Oracle and Tomtaz already explained to you theres absolutely no similarity between Jax and Sonya aside from them working on the same job.

And yeah, Jax had the bad luck that there was a hater from him in there that said “no” and a few fallowed that. Not really much. Even in low quality, one can tell the concept of his design looks cool.

As for Ermac, I love him, but I don’t see him in this game. He isn’t near to be as iconic as others, but I do agree it would be awesome to see him with a new look. Less ninja imo. He has potential to look greater.

Honey, I feel your pain,, but the mk characters are supposed to look a bit retro so the DC fans and casual gamers can spot them and actually know who they are. This isen't the type of game where they can give all MK characters major overhauls because then DC fans and casual gamers won't know who they are. Thats why DC is making midway stick with what is famillar with their characters.

In MK9, then we can expect all the cool major overhauls look wise. This game isen't JUST for MK fans, lets not be selfish.

How in the world do Jade from UMK3 and on look like she supposed to be egypitian? If thats the case then Jax can be egypitian too. Oh and Egypt is in AFRICA.

Not being selfish, just want her to at least look fresh and new. Everyone that has been announced so far while maintaining some of their classic look, have a new design to them and don't look recycled. Kitana's costume however looks the same as before. She had this outfit as an alternate in DA. Now that ain't right.
