I don't like or dislike him I just think he's obviously challenged mentally. well ive only read page 13 and nothing else of this thread. first time coming in here. and well i want to post my opinion.

does MKD suck? overall id say no MKD is far from sucking. id say its the best around right now looking at it overall. meaning im not looking at just the fighting part of the game. cuz of the other modes, replay value, excellent audio, innovation (death traps, MK chess), ect. all that makes this game truely excellent overall. and thats how i look at games. how good they r overall.

now i know theres many that look at fighters differently. u only look at the actual fighting mechanics of the game and such stuff like that. in that area id have to agree MKD sucks compared to the fighting engine Tekken 5, Virtua Fighter 4, and Soul Calibur 2 have. i very much wish they get rid of this flawed 3 styles fighting engine. with it the gameplay is too slow. as many say its like "dailing up combo's" wich i believe is only cuz its too slow and not real smooth. and well the boss battles against the big "monster" character (Moloch, Onaga) like there always is in MK r super easy due to the flawed fighting engine from what i can tell.

i have been saying for over a year now that they should use a different fighting engine. really thats the only thing holding MK back from selling a whole lot more right now. and ill be dissapointed if they keep the 3 styles for MK7. its nice that they tried some thing different than what the other fighters were doing with MKDA. and then they gave it another shot trying to make it better in MKD wich i think they did, but not good enuff. so Boon get rid of the 3 styles. maybe u can do 2 styles? one unarmed and one armed. id like that only if they make both those styles have good depth to them wich maybe easier for them to do with the new technology of the new consoles.

i really pray to god that they wont screw up MK7 in any big way. past 3 MK's have been nothing but dissapointments for me. MK4 just sucked and thats when i stoped playing MK. then MKDA came out and i was gonna get it till i played it at a friends and i saw my fav Liu Kang die. so i was like screw MK then, untill i eventually got it last year b4 MKD came out. but it was dissapointing in some areas besides not having Liu Kang. then MKD is pretty much dissapointing in almost all the same areas except worse than in MKDA. i dunno if ill be able to go on if they dissapoint me big time once again with MK7.

anyways b4 i forget to say this.... imo MKD is the best 3D fighter around. Tekken 5 imo just barely doesnt match up to MKD. thats really only cuz Tekken 5 has no online play. matched up against Soul Calibur 2 i like MKD better mainly cuz SC2 is a lil too easy and doesnt have that much replay value really. as for Virtua Fighter 4 well that game is just really realistic. honestly i get bored of it cuz its so realistic.

bottom line.... and i think we could all agree on this.... Ed Boon use a new fighting engine. some thing similare to Tekken 5, Soul Calibur 2, and Virtua Fighter 4. u already got the koolest roster of chars and the blood and gore of fatalities on ur side for the mainstream. now u need a fighting engine that will actually work well to satisfy the hardcore players. also i believe i can speak for every one that we want FMV endings! lol! so if it takes 4 years to have a good fighting engine and FMV endings then so be it! i believe we can wait...... just for the love of god dont come out with a new MK fighter every 2-3 years now with the same 3 styles fighting engine. aiight Boon? good

You were making sense for the most part there, but then you made a complete 180 turn by saying "MKD is the best fighter around". Make up your mind.

The only thing I want from MK7 is effort. I don't expect it to be perfect, but MKD definetly did not have a lot of dedication on the gameplay front. Effort would be Ed Boon checking out VF,SC,Tekken,DOA,Smash and SF(preferably 3rd strike) to get a taste of what fighters are really about.

Taking ideas from other fighters is a good idea,hey DOA got there ideas from SF and MK believe it or not.

As long as MK stays MK,know what i mean.

See, this is the kind of statement I hate. You know damn well that most of the MK team probably put in alot of 10-12 hours days, everyday, for a good part of the development for MKD. Saying that there was no effort put into it is really insulting to Boon and other members of the team that put all that time into making the game for you. That's probably the most selfish and unthoughtful statement I've seen made on this website.

Yeah,they put it in the storylines,the Krypt,Konquest,etc. (i.e. all the mini-games and the extra features).

What about the actual fighting engine?Is this game supposed to be a fighter or not?Do 20+ infinite combos sould like "effort" to you?Dude,I'm not going to waste my time;I'll straight out tell you that no ONE on the MK team had any idea what the hell they were doing with the gameplay.It's this simple.If there is a plant move that slams the opponent onto the ground and there is no wake up game,and the throws are unblockable,using a little bit logic can we not infer that this game will be all about easy 50/50 mix ups?Plus,if you don't test the game off-line or online,there WILL be a lot of glitches.Thus,MK:D is the way it is now,at least engine wise.This version of MK:D should have never been the final version,but a beta version.

my mind is made up and has been for months. imo MKD is the best fighting game around OVERALL. so im not saying it is the best around cuz of the actual fighting part of the game alone. becuz of online play, MK Chess, Puzzle Kombat, a lot of unlockables and replay value, soooooo much better audio than what was in MKDA (audio is like flawless in MKD imo), graphics r good, and well the game is just really fun to play. also the roster in MKD im guessing is probably the most satisfying roster so far for most MK fans. even without Kung Lao, Kitana, Johnny Cage, Sonya, and Reptile. ok then again maybe it isnt the most satisfying roster..... maybe it is. still the roster of playable characters is really great. i personnally never have played with more than over half the roster of fighters in any fighting game untill now. and well i gotta believe Boon did listen to us by bringing back Ermac, Kabal, Smoke, Jade, Mileena, ect. so overall i think MKD is an excellent game.

looking at Virtura Fighter 4 and Soul Calibur 2 imo overall they arent "excellent" but id say still great games overall. Tekken 5 ill go ahead and say is excellent overall besides not having online play. now only focussing on the gameplay part of the games, more specifically the fighting part, MKD is the worse of the 4 games with id say VF4, SC2, and Tekken 5 all tied.

so like i said imo MKD is the best around cuz i look at the game as a whole. not just 1 specific part of the game weither it be the most important part or not.

Meh, sounds a bit illogical to me, allow to me to explain.

If you buy a car that won't start because its engine is a pile of crap, you wouldn't say I don't mind because overall it's a good car due to its comfy seats, the car is still bad because it won't start.

and that is what you bought the car for isn't it? to drive it and all.

Fighting games are similiar, sure all the other stuff is fine but aren't fighting games bought to be played as fighting games, not a Super Puzzle Fighter look-a-like.

Especially in MK's case where the many problems in the engine that needed fixing seem to have been put to one side in order to make mini-games that don't have an effect on the fighting engine.

Seems like a distraction from something wrong rather than adding more to what's already there to me.

EDIT: When a 15-20GB internet connection is created I'm sure Tekken will be online straight away, don't worry about that.

i totally know what u mean but imo the fighting engine in MKD isnt so flawed that it isnt playable. yes its flawed but it still works. doesnt work real well like i wish it did, but it works good enuff that i can still enjoy playing the game. still im not happy with the fighting engine, but atleast its playable. ive played other fighting games in the past that wearnt even that playable. i mean ive played some of the worse of the worse fighters ever. so i trust my opinion that MKD's fighting engine isnt all bad. still sucks compared to the other 3 top fighters around but like ive said like 3 times now it still works.

so i guess translating that into buying a car is like if i found a car that had a great paint job, great interior, ect. but it some problems starting or some thing like that but still worked, yea i think i would buy that car. well atleast i would buy that car over a really crappy looking car that ran just fine.

well i have played Tekken 5 and the other big fighters. i even own Soul Calibur 2 and Virtua Fighter 4. i agree those 2 games were better than MKDA. not better than MKD overall (fighting engine wise specifically yes, but not overall) due to the ammount of content in MKD. its just filled with crap. lol. and well the only reason im not gonna get Tekken 5 is cuz in the week i had it (rented it) i pretty much mastered it (atleast against hte CPU on the hardest difficulty) useing Feng. and well if i bought it i dont think id play it for more than a week or maybe 2. ok thats not hte only reason. also cuz i hate Tekken characters. only like Feng and Heihachi.

all mkd has is konquest, puzzle, chess and kombat in terms of playability. chess is using the same engine from kombat, they just spruced up the appearance and added a few chess pieces so technically all mkd really has is konquest, puzzle, and kombat. now look at tekken 5, they give you tekken 1, 2, & 3. thats 4 different game engines, they also give you devil within and not to mention that lil space shooter at the beginning. so in terms of content you cannot possibly say mkd has better content then tekken 5.

Funny I unlocked everything in deception in under a week and I wasn't even trying. The hardest part was playing thru the Krap that is Konquest. An adventure mode that has no adventure, what a concept. Anyway you talk about the overall but whats special about it? MK chess is a remake of a 20 year old game and that same 20 year old game is BETTER than it. Puzzle kombat is a remake of a nearly 10 year old game and the 10 year old game is better than it.

Yeah, I don't think Boon was going for "revolutionary" concepts when he came up with the extras for MK:D. As you can see with them having the same fighting engine as MK:DA, he was merely trying to fill in the game with "extras", and nothing more. I guess that was the best the Midway team can/could do until the next-gens (360 and PS3, possibly Revolution).

next gen consoles shouldnt even be an excuse for why midway sold us this crap called mk:d. people wanted fatalities, konquest, and hara kiris, i say midway is way too lenient with the audience. they shouldve kept it simple and not filled it with useless stuff like pictures of the most hideous looking people i didnt want to see in the first place.
