MK8 should follow Street Fighter IVs lead

Yes, we all remember (and try to forget) Mortal Kombat: Special Forces....

MK8 should "not" follow SF4's lead! Wtf you thinking anyways? I agree with whoever said that Midway should include a 2-d version of MK8 for the 2d fans.
eh, if we are talking about gameplay then I personally like the 3D ones more than the 2D ones (excluding umk3, which actually has decent gameplay) if MK played like its normal 2D roots, then it would be terrible to transfer into 3D, just look at MK4.
Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance= most balanced 3D MK game, with solid gameplay
Mortal Kombat Deception= ridiculously broken, but fun to play casually
Mortal Kombat Armaggedon= almosts leaps from the broken gap, but a few god-tier characters keep it in. It was actually good in gameplay, with its 2D-3D style, but everything else in the game was rushed
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 = most balanced 2D MK game overall, with a deep gameplay system.
Mortal Kombat 2= fun but the gameplay is pretty much a turtlefest, there really is not much you can do when someone blocks in that game, its just like downgrading from umk3.

an mk with 3D graphics and 2D gamaplay doesn't mean mk4 gameplay.
look at killer instinct 3D chars into a "3D" enviroment sometimes. or look at SF IV it looks great. i love 2D :P
they can also can rotate the view when a character throw his enemy, etcetera. they can make a lot of things differents than the poor mk4

Was I, like, the only one who LIKED MK4? Last time I checked, MK4 was actually a bit of a success critically and commercially. It was after MK4, with the releases of MK: Special Forces and MK Gold, that the franchise stopped trying and they took a haitus.

Good summary, I still think MK4 isn't "entirely bad" but definitely not the best lol
MK:A is overall a pretty good game, I think the main thing that kills it is the online play....MKD, UMK3 and MK2 all play MUCH better online

I don't play "online", so for me...it's not having the personal character fatalities that killed MKA.

Nope.
But I hated that game with a passion. lol Even though yea, they did campaign the hell out of it.

Boon said in an interview I think it was with gamespot that he would like the gameplay to be like deadly alliance.

I honestly think when a Franchise Starts to do what every else does, it loses. What defined and made it stand out is gone and is replaced by the same old stuff we see everywhere else. So I don't think Mk should be like SF4. I'm not an expert on gameplay because I'm not a hardcore player, but I feel that it won't be MK that instead it'll be something else.
