Hm...I like this one too Aculeus, just, this ones the least of the three that you've made so far.

I was starring at this one and this is what I think:

1. Shouldn't he be holding the weapon by the other end? instead of close to the blade like he is? Then, I guess we wouldn't be able to see the blade so much...but hm.

2. His head seems to be placed a little too far down on the neck.

That's it though...the coloring looks really good and the background makes his coloring "pop". I like that you made his um..what's that called a shaw? The deal in the middle that hangs down longer...I like that you did that to this one.

The extra harpoons are a plus too, but I think more spikes make Reiko look..like Reiko; "an emperor wannabe". Don't mean to under cut him like that, I like Reiko....I'm just really fond of his MkA primary, and the spikes he had back in MK4/G.

No, that's MK4 (arcade). Dreamcast's MK Gold features Reiko with a scythe... trust me.

Awesome stuff, my only critiques are is that some parts look blurrier than others so it doesn't look as authtentic, replace the kunais on his leg strap with shurikens, the scythe needs to be held in both hands, and I would've loved to have seen spiked shoulder pads on him.

Very good. However, touch up the eye. The left one looks weird and his "warpaint" looks more like badly smeared charcoal.

No... never played MKG ... I think we all know Reiko doesn't REALLY deserve that weapon. Reiko was only put in the game because they didn't have enough new characters (and took the place of Noob Saibot). He's nothing but a last minute shit-job.

And please don't tell me to lighten up. You make me feel like you take everything so personally, as though YOU are the one who needs to ligthen up. Try and not take things so seroiusly whenever you see a curse word... because.............. it's the internet. FUCK. DAMN IT. SHIT.

Y' know... you may want to play MKG. Noob Saibot is a playable character in that game. I agree that Reiko, visually speaking, was thrown together. If you ever tried using him, you'd discover he's a lot of fun to use.

Also, just for the record, swearing on or off the internet doesn't bother me. People's childish remarks usually don't either. If you're free to speak your mind as you have, then I'm free to give you a little advice.

Thanks for the input everyone! Some of you have noticed the variation in image quality, most notably the texture of the stone floor in the foreground and in Reiko's face. This image and other render fakes I've done weren't intended to be "render quality" from every single aspect, just a what if kind of thing.

I wish I could have found higher-res elements to work with, but it just wasn't happening.



Interesting request... I actually considered doing one of the female ninja's (that didn't sound good) just for the challenge, but in the end it's simply too impractical. I'd basically just be redrawing everything from scratch.

I think this picture is worth showing to Midway on who they wish they could have on the Art Team. Seriously, I think this is the best so far.

And no, the scythe does not kill the picture, I think it looks cool despite it took me a lttle bit to actually figure out what it was seeing how it looked all disfigured, but other than that, it's wonderful

Well, to be fair, Noob Saibot too was a last minute shit job. In a way, he's more so a shit job since Boon programmed all of the MK2 hidden characters by himself as a last minute addition to MKII. That doesn't demean the character in any way, but neither does it demean Reiko's (although I personally think Reiko is both bland and boring, though I find the idea of a Kahn wannabe interesting).

What DOES demean Noob Saibot is the fact that his story was snot from MK3 to MKDA (gameboy advance). Why he made it into MK4 and not Smoke (who had a much larger fanbase at the time) is unknown to me.
