Ugh, no! LoL, that's the completely wrong idea! Yes, it hints at some kind of interaction between them, but definately nothing romantic -_-'... lmao, that would just be... stupid considering what the endings are aiming for...

I might solve this and other cliffhangers when the endings come to an end, which I'm thinking (as of now) will happen once Oct. 10th is close.

There's definately gonna be another ending soon, though, thanks to another batch of great reponse I'm getting. It won't be the final climatic one just yet, however, since there's a few more endings that I should get out of the way before focusing on that one. Also, I think it's an alright time to announce that I'm thinking about splitting the final ending into parts, with a little "cliffhanger" at the end of each one, kind of like a mini-series ending-type of thing? I really hope at least someone out there got that...

Keep posting, though! I constantly check back to read and repond to the replies! Thanks a bunch!

More to come...

Crap, I'll need to give some more info on the next ending, otherwise this thread will border the third page! wow It's kind of disheartening to have that happen...

But anyway...

I'm thinking the next one will involve Reptile in a very interesting battle. He will be aided by another ally for sure, and a possible second one might make an appearence.

The thing with Reptile is that he is one of the toughter characters to plan a proper ending for, since all this time he's basically functioned under a master and never had time to develop his own interests, until moments after Shao Khan's "death". I'm going to have to establish his motives for MK:A based on the latest things that happened to him, and try and figure out what he would go for. His ending is also very likely to include a certain event that will involve this "ally", and will alter his personality and possibly cause him to think and act in a way he hasn't in past games.

Hopefully you guys find these new "updates" on the upcoming ending not only useful, but interesting as well.

P.S.: Can I get some allies myself to help out in not allowing the thread to disappear so fast? wink How bout some Rep fans throw some ideas at me concerning his ending, such as things you would like/expect to see Reptile do, as well as speculations from the details I've given out! All kinds of replies are accepted (long as there's nothing innapropriate going on)... glasses

Anyway, back on topic and what another good ending. I can't really say I'm particularly fond of any of the characters featured in it but it is still a very good ending and I was enthralled right from the very beginning. Kudos, as usual and I eagerly await the next one. If it is indeed Reptile's ending, one would assume Khameleon is featured and for that I have much anticipation...

Doesn't Reptile want revenge against Nitara for abandoning him and keeping him distracted while Shao Khan was killed? I'd see Nitara as more of an enemy of Reptile than a possible ally, although you may have reasons to think otherwise?

Oh yes, that'ts right. I forgot Reptile found out she had manipulated him. If he didn't know, the two of them could oppose Shao Kahn, but yeah you're right about that. Hmm, Chameleon as a possible ally? :o Man am I excited about the next ending you write.

Khameleon is the only ally I can see Reptile being able to trust. Surely his encounter with Nitara has made it harder for him to trust others. Of course, however, have Reptile and Khameleon...ever...met?

You make some very nice points, Keith!

I'm having a rough week (as stated before) so it'll take me just a little bit more time to complete this ending. This is because I really want them all to be their best quality, and to post them, I really need to feel that I've done the most I can with the ending and I'm fully satisfied with what happens and how it flows. That means spending a lot of time on it besides just the writing part.

I promise, however, to have it by the end of the week! Thank you guys a lot for your patience! grin

The "plan" for Reptile's ending has just been finished, meaning every detail of what will happen in his ending has been written down. Now all that is left is the actual writing of the ending itself, to include the battle scenes (Reptile's ending will include some heavy fighting, and even a hint at a next-gen character) and the picture/subtitles combo. Another interesting fact I could mention as of now is that his ending will also include a total of six major characters, but will not feel cluttered, as everything has been thoroughly planned out to the ending's full potential.

I'm grateful for the patience everyone is having, but like promised, the ending will be out either later tonight or by tomorrow. grin

Alright, guys, I thought I would try something a little different for Reptile's ending. It's coming out a lot longer than I previously anticipated, and since I would like to avoid posting huge endings all at once and overwhelming everybody, I have decided to break Reptile's ending down into parts.

This is PART 1, which serves the main purpose of introducing all (or almost all) of the character involved in the ending, as well as revealing the friction that will occur in it as well. PART 2 should be coming up tomorrow!

REPTILE (NITARA, KHAMELEON, CHAMELEON) PART 1

During the start of the scene, the screen focuses on the sky above the battlefield, where three flying creatures are visible in the distance as nothing but mere shadows. After a few seconds, one of the three creatures suddenly rushes towards the screen, increasing in size as it does so. In a moment, we get a startling look at a male vampire, his mouth wide open, baring his fangs, as he flies past the screen. The screen quickly shifts focus to follow this strange vampire, whom we notice is flying towards the area where an intense battle between Shao Khan and Onaga takes place. We now also notice that this vampire has a long, jet-black cape that is (oddly enough) motionless as the wind whips past it. The screen continues to follow him until he reaches his destination, and is finally hovering just above Shao Khan as the emperor delivers a devastating blow to Onaga with his Wrath Hammer, knocking the Dragon King off-scene. We get a close-up shot of the strange vampire as he seemingly surveys the area around him (through this shot, we get a more detailed look at his face: it is ominously pale, his unusually-large fangs glistening as his piercing, blood-red eyes shift from side to side). Finally, he stops surveying the ground below and suddenly flies down, quickly grabbing by the arms one of Shao Khan’s generals and taking off with him into the air. The screen now slowly moves away from this male vampire (we hear a scream and drops of blood falling through the air) and shifts position to focus near a mountainous area. All we see for a few seconds is Shao Khan and Onaga’s now-almost-indistinct battle in the distance before Reptile steps into the scene, and apparently looks onto this very same fight. We get a brisk close-up shot of the battle, and see Onaga deliver a combination of powerful punches to Shao Khan before flying with him into the air and slamming the emperor down into the rough ground below.

Reptile: “Masster! No!”

We see Reptile’s gloomy eyes widen as he not only sees that Shao Khan is indeed alive, but also that he is being overpowered by the Dragon King in battle. Having subconsciously been part of Onaga’s short reign over Outworld, Reptile knew how powerful he was; if he did not intervene in his master’s sake, he knew Shao Khan would eventually be defeated. Without thinking twice, the Saurian begins to run in Onaga’s direction, with nothing else on his mind other than landing a surprise attack. After taking no more than a few steps, however, Reptile suddenly feels his body being suspended into the air by many bluish waves hovering behind his back.

Reptile: “What? Who daress to attack me from behind?”

No one answers; instead, the bluish waves cease, and Reptile falls softly on his back. He rubs his neck for a second before sitting up and turning around to face his attacker. We see the clear surprise on his reptilian features (even if behind the thick black bandages around his head) as he sees a woman behind him, wearing a hazy-green outfit and wielding two Steel Fans, which quickly vanish into thin air in a puff of green smoke. Reptile instantly recognizes the female...

The screen fills with a bright light, and once it fades, we are left with a scene of Reptile doing his best to walk across a forest, green blood dripping from his stomach (the scene is incredibly foggy, making it hard to make out the details within it). We now see the same woman suddenly run in front of Reptile, as though attempting to stop him from going any further.

Woman: “Reptile!” (She approaches him slowly). “I have been after you for what seems like more than a century...”

Reptile: “No! Leave me! I musst run to my masster’s aid... the traitor Jade has joined Kitana and they are going to attack him! I cannot allow that to happen!

Woman: “Then let them do so! You must stop now and listen to me!”

Reptile: “You are one of their alliess, are you not? Trying to stop me in my trackss so that I cannot reach the emperor in time! If so, you will pay with your life!”

Woman: “You are in no shape for yet another battle, Reptile!”

Reptile: “How do you know my name?”

Woman: “Because, like you, I am a native of the realm of Zaterra! I am Khameleon; a Saurian like yourself, who has been desperately seeking you ever since I first came to the realization that you are a survivor of our race as well!

Reptile: “Liess! You look and are nothing more than another ally of Kitana, with falsse hopess of hindering me and my goalss!” (Reptile takes out his Axe). “For that, you will die here!”

Just as Reptile prepares to attack the female warrior in front of him, Jade suddenly leaps into the scene drives her Bo Staff through Reptile’s torso, who hisses loudly. Kitana appears shortly after, immediately attacking the strange woman. The two ninjas begin to fight, and before long, the battle takes the two of them deep within the forest, where we can no longer see them. The screen goes back to Reptile, who is now on the ground, green blood accumulating beneath him; he can do nothing more than look helplessly as Jade leaves him and goes further into the woods, in the direction which Kitana and the mysterious ninja went.

Once the flashback ends, we return to present time; the elusive female ninja still standing before Reptile, who looks on in amazement.

Reptile: “Khameleon... you are alive!”

Khameleon extends her right arm to Reptile and holds out her hand. We notice elongated, sharp claws exactly like Reptile’s jutting out of the glove she wears, and also that her entire forearm is covered in scales. Reptile takes her hand and gets back to his feet.

Reptile: “I thought they had killed you back then... you cannot imagine what it wass like for me at that moment in Earthrealm, when I not only realized you spoke the truth about your origin... but also that I had allowed you to be killed after momentss of encountering you...”

Khameleon: “I fled after a long time battling the two ninjas who attacked us. I had returned to your location, but you were nowhere to be found... what happened?”

Reptile: “I wass at the brink of death when the Edenianss found my body and took me to their realm, where they tried and sentenced me to banishment to the Netherrealm. That and the thought that I had losst my only chance of seeing my race thrive once more almosst drove me to inssanity as I wandered that damned realm aimlesssly...”

Khameleon: “The past matters no longer! What is important is that I have finally managed to track you down once more, and that you have not yet fallen victim to the ruthless fighting going on in this place. I am here to assist you, Reptile!”

Reptile: “Your help is mosst welcome!” (Reptile takes Khameleon’s right hand in his and turns around). “Come, my masster iss being attacked as we speak!”

Khameleon (pulling her hand from Reptile’s grasp): “I would sooner lose my life than help Shao Khan, Reptile!”

Reptile (looking astonished): “Why iss that so?”

Khameleon: “Do you remember when we last met, that my primary intention was to reveal something to you?”

Reptile: “Vaguely... mosst of my past memories have left me...”

Khameleon: “I wanted to expose you to a vital fact, Reptile: that your ‘master’, the emperor Shao Khan, is the one person responsible for our race’s extinction!”

Reptile: “No... imposssible! He hass sworn to resstore my race if I allied mysself with him!”

Khameleon: “A cruel lie, Reptile! Our race was on the apex of greatness when Shao Khan discovered our realm of Zaterra and drove us to the brink of extinction, keeping the survivors as his slaves, forcing them to watch helplessly as he merged our realm with Outworld!” (As Khameleon speaks, Reptile puts both his hands to his head, as though suffering from a sudden, excruciating headache). “Those survivors were not skilled enough in the art of kombat, and eventually, were slain by Khan when he demonstrated discontent at that fact. If I had not remained hidden during the merger, perhaps I would have fallen victim to him as well. He took advantage of your unique fighting abilities and weak memory from your past and further persuaded you to side with him, which gave way to your mental instability and vulnerability all the years that followed!”

Reptile falls to his knees, growling softly. Khameleon puts her right hand on his left shoulder.

Khameleon: “I understand the difficulty of realizing the one person you most trusted during your life is the sole cause of all your suffering. But at least you are no longer alone, as you have been in the past.”

We get a close-up shot of Reptile’s face, his face contorted in an extremely solemn and grave expression. He then slowly turns his head to look at Khan in the distance (who is being helped by another warrior and is besting Onaga). It takes no more than a second for pure anger to take over his expression, as he bares his teeth and glares at the one being responsible for the loneliness and desperation that has ruled his life. He snarls and slowly gets back up, making his hands into fists.

Reptile: “I want him dead... in the worsst manner posssible!” (He turns to Khameleon). “We will make a feasst out of his remains, and pay him back for what he hass done to uss and our race!”

Khameleon: “I am against us setting ourselves amid that battle...” (We get a brief shot of the battle from a distance as Khameleon speaks; there are clearly many warriors involved, and chaos has ensued all around that area). “There is a chance we might not survive, and that would be the end of our race!”

Reptile: “So you proposse we do not fight for our honor, and allow Khan to remain unsscratched after all that he has forced uss both to endure?”

Khameleon: “We do not know as of yet if Khan himself will even survive the intense battle that has developed. For the time being, our worry should be another: the climatic final battles that are occurring in this battlefield have weakened the binds of the realms from which the combatants hail. As a result, portals to different realms are constantly opening and closing all around it. We must reach one of these areas, as it is our only chance to escape this commotion with our lives.”

Reptile: “As much as it pains me to not draw even a drop of blood from Shao Khan, I could not endure you losing your life because of me. I will follow you without questionss to the locale you have mentioned.” (Reptile stares at Khameleon for a few moments). “How iss it that you have not devolved as much as I have?”

Khameleon (suddenly looked somber): “My brother has been assisting me all this time in finding you. By staying close to him, I have avoided severe devolvement...”

Reptile: “Where iss he?”

Khameleon: “I have lost him from sight on my way here. When I saw you in the distance, I obviously recognized you as a Saurian, and knew you must be Reptile; I dashed towards you and... he did not make it with me. I fear for his life...”

Reptile: “Perhaps we will find him on our way to the locale.”

Khameleon: “Although chances are slim, there is such a possibility. Now come, let us g— AHH!“

Khameleon’s words are cut short as a female vampire swoops down in the blink of an eye and grabs a hold of her left arm, taking off with her into the air. Reptile instantly recognizes the vampire as Nitara, and wastes no time in running after her, determined to not allow anything to happen to Khameleon. We get a close-up shot of Reptile’s hands as he clasps them both together, then separates them vertically, conjuring a green energy orb which he immediately releases in Nitara’s direction upon materialization. The screen shifts to Nitara, who looks back and notices the incoming projectile, then attempts to dodge it by flying closer to the ground. The orb continues to follow her, however. Nitara increases her speed, avoiding the projectile by any cost. We now see Khameleon open up her right hand; a green mist emerges on her palm, and takes the form of a Sai, quickly materializing into one. She grabs it tightly and slices Nitara’s arms; the vampire roars angrily and loses balance, giving Reptile’s orb time to reach its target. Nitara comes crashing down onto the ground as the projectile strikes her, releasing Khameleon in the process, who falls few feet away from her attacker. The female vampire now starts to get back up as two more vampires land behind her. We notice that one of them is the burly, menacing-looking male one that had attacked Shao Khan’s general in the beginning of the scene, and the other is a second female with long, deep-red hair and dressed in a red and gold outfit slightly similar to Nitara’s.

Male Vampire: “Nitara... were you attacked?”

Reptile finally arrives in the area, and instantly stands next to Khameleon, glaring warningly at the trio in front of him.

Nitara: “Yes, Lothario... by that disgusting creature...” (She looks at her arms, both which have a cut on the surface). “Just when I had taken what could have been our last victim.”

Lothario (gaping stiffly at Khameleon): “Nitara, the female you took is a Saurian. Her blood is not effective enough to help us reach our goal.”

Nitara: “A harmless mistake. We will continue our hunt, for as you can plainly see, there is an endless amount of blood to be drawn from this place. Before long, your powers will have been fully restored... but before we do, I will see these two creatures dead for their impudence!”

Reptile takes out his Kirehashi blade and prepares for Nitara’s attack. The vampire, however, stands her ground and a grin unexpectedly appears on her face.

Nitara: “Reptile... an interesting coincidence it is for us to meet amid these battles. I suppose I never properly thanked you for your services.”

Lothario: “The creature had something to do with your success in separating our realm from Outworld?”

Nitara (turning to Lothario): “Unknowingly, yes. He was no more than mere pawn in the grand scheme of my plan, but his actions during our last encounter were nonetheless vital.”

Reptile: “You were a fool to return here, Nitara! Even with allies, you will not succeed in defeating me in kombat! My revenge will not have to wait any longer!”

Nitara: “You, Reptile, are the fool in assuming I have returned only to waste my time with a pitiful warrior such as yourself. My new goals lie somewhere else: I have brought the very emperor of my realm with me to this battlefield, where the blood of countless victims we encounter will aid the restoration of his powers, lost during since the merger of our realm with Outworld.” (We get a shot of the looming vampire Lothario as she speaks). “Once his original state returns, so will his ability to transform other beings into our own kind.” (Nitara turns and grins at the irate look on Reptile’s face once more). “The most powerful warriors from all realms are present here; once they have all been transformed into our puppets, nothing will stand in the way of our realm’s conquest over all others! Besides... never have the binds of the realms been as weak as they are now, which will only make everything easier.”

Lothario: “Enough mindless chatter, Nitara. You waste precious time conversing with such an inferior creature about complex matters such as this. Leave the two Saurians be; do not engage in kombat against them, and instead, let us continue our hunt.”

Nitara (sighing): “Very well...” (she faces Reptile and Khameleon). “Once these matters have been attended to, we will take care of you... as well as any others of your race whom you two bring to life.”

Khameleon: “What?!”

Nitara: “It is a waste of time to attempt to repopulate the Saurian race now, if that is what you two plan on doing. Once the vampire race rules over the realms, there will not be a place for your inferior kind.”

Nitara and the remaining two vampires turn their backs to the Saurians, and she begins to chuckle egotistically... until Reptile suddenly materializes in front of her and lands a powerful blow to Nitara, which sends her flying through the air in Khameleon’s direction. The female Saurian conjures a Steel Fan and levitates the vampire into the air, giving way for Reptile to hurl a second Energy Orb at her. Just as he does so, however, the emperor Lothario smashes Reptile in the back with a massive fire projectile, knocking him down.

Lothario: “These two need to be slain now! They show clear opposition of our objectives!”

________________________________

PART 1 will end here, as the length has reached the limit I would like it to. Hopefully you guys liked what I'm going for here, as well as the newly-added aspects of the ending and Reptile's story in general.

PART 2 coming tomorrow, to include the battle itself and most likely the finality.

Feel free to comment before PT. 2 is posted.

Sounds good so far Leo. What I like the best in this ending is a glimpse into MK8. At least so far a glimpse from part 1, part 2 will reveal more in MK8 im sure. I like the story you've given Khameleon and the introduction to new characters. Very nice concepts. Keep up the good work!

What we need is Reptile doin the Head-Eating Fatality on Lothario out of nowhere, like when the Vampires are at their most confident in victory.

But that's what I'd do. and perhaps that wouldn't make a good Leo Ending.

Part 2 is gonna be awesome, I just know it.
