So no FMV endings?
So no FMV endings?

Well, this is shit. It's just fucking lazy. paintings? Similar in style to MK:DA and MK:D? Honestly, this is PS3 and Xbox 360 using the Unreal 3 engine. It would be EASY to use FMV endings. Really, NOBODY wants anymore slides. It's fucking ridiculous. Who agrees?

Takes a couple months to put together "FMV's", or whatever they're calling them since they're using the new engine.
So no, it's not "easy". And no, they're probably not called FMV's anymore. When I get the correct terminology, I'll be sure to pass it along.
--
Far as the paintings or picture endings, I'm cool with them as long as they're really good.
I mean, wouldn't hurt if they were partially animated, or even partially interactive or something. But I'm cool with them as long as there's commentary.
I also love to access them freely after I beat the game with a character too. I still watch some of the MKDA and MKD stuff if ever I play those games.
--
Would I like endings to be animated really well? Hell yea, that'd be awesome. But it isn't feasible unless we leave them alone for a while, and software//hardware permit it.....in addition to 20characters, alot of arenas, online stuff, unlockable stuff, a good 10-20hr story mode, alt costumes, good gameplay.....ect ect ect...
----
Side note: I think it's be cool to see bios and vs screens get animated some new inventive kinda way. I know I want the victory poses back on the selection screen too.

If the cinematic endings would look as good as the intro, awesome. But I don't think they have the time or patience to do that. We asked for FMV endings in MKA, and that truly bit us in the ass. I do like the picture endings fine, but I will always prefer a uniquely done cinematic as long as it is comparable to the intro vids of at least MKDA - MKA.

I believe it means Full Motion Video.
I'd love cutscenes, but, when you think about it: compare the endings for every other MK game to the endings for MK4 and MK:G. The MK4 and MKG endings were more spectacular, but it's not easy to get the same level of detail across in a short scene as it is in a narration.
example:
I cannot imagine that compressed into a two minute movie, it would either be A) way too long or B) feel way too rushed or C) they'd have to change the ending (and I don't want to put any more constraints on the MK team).
example:
Sonya's ending in MK:DA:
After the destruction of the Deadly Alliance, Sonya searched for the missing Special Forces agent Kenshi. She finally discovered him badly beaten and near death apparently from hook-like wounds in his ribcage. She managed to return him to the rendezvous point where I transported them back to Earthrealm.
Upon her return, Sonya was promoted to General and giver her choice of command. She hand-picked a team to deal with new terrorist threats located on Earth. While in Outworld, Special Agent Kenshi had learned of a new threat to peace. The Red Dragon had awakened.

Paintings are better than 25 second crappy, bland, and anticlimactic endings...

Midway is in a bit of a financial cul-de-sac. I highly doubt they can afford cinematic endings for a roster of 20+ in addition to an intro movie and Story Mode endings. In reality, arcade mode takes about 10 minutes to beat usually. I wouldn't consider that worthy of getting an expensive cinematic ending. Soul Calibur 4 has cinematics and they're all awful. At least with "paintings" you get an ending that can span a much larger time frame. I'd rather have a longer and better opening movie and ending story mode cinematics rather than a two minute movie at the end of arcade mode that shows absolutely nothing.
You have to pick your battles.
Once again, it coes up as they could have one big cinematic ending for each sdie, at least in story mode. And I know they're having financial issues, but that's all the more reason this game should be fine tuned to perfection, so it can be the saving ggrace tht brings more people over to MK.

Story mode will have cut scenes and it's pretty safe to assume that each side will have a cinematic ending. With the deficit Midway posted at the end of their fiscal year it's no surprise this game isn't getting a lot of extra aesthetics to it such as cinematics for each individual character. You can't make money just appear out of thin air. If you could I definitely would have figured out how by now. lolz

We are talking about Midway here, that is just to much work for them to handle.I wouldn't be surprised if half the staff is already having a nervous breakdown as it is with what they can handle.Midway as always had some sort of money problems so I don't accept that as a excuse or reason for not getting it in there. If they really wanted to and had people on staff that could create them in the time limit given,I am sure it could be done.
I am not happy with the so called paintings but its no big deal as long as the game is awesome and there is a lot of replay value to the game.If they have DLC such as,stages, customs, sountracks, extra moves etc then thats a good way for them to make me forget about the endings they have.
One other thing is,are they WHAT IF endings for this series or will they actually all go together? Also,do you get a FMV ending when you complete the story mode or is it just a painting there to?I know there is cut scenes during the story mode but just wondering after you beat it.

Agreed, however we know that they never planned to do FMV endings, because if they did then we would be getting them. MK Gold had 20 characters all with FMV endings, granted it was a separate port that added five characters but it's very doable. Just like alternate costumes but the team didn't want to include these (alts and FMV) because they wanted to get the other stuff "perfected". I see this game as a test into the next gen systems. I wouldn't be surprised if the next game has one or two alt costumes for everyone along with FMV endings. It just depends on what they want to get done.

Paintings are fine. They have worked for 6 other MK's (not counting MKA) so calm down Joker boy. Haha

I don't believe it's "lazyness", I think they're just concentrating on more...important issues (or wish to)IMO honestly. At least we're getting them within the adventure modes, so I'm pumped for that : ) and there's some FMV via cutscenes.
I'm also a huge fan of art so I don't mind the drawings. I still like art or FMV over kata endings personally. I know a lot of people love the FMV's but that artwork takes a lot of work, talent, hand drawn or CGI. There's definitely a talent for that. I wonder who will do them, if John Tobias will(besides the comic) or someone like Steve perhaps.
