First thing that comes to mind when I think about WW is, "she can beat most men, AND men-superheros up." It travels me back to the days when Zena: Warrior Princess was around (don't really care how good or bad the show was, WW makes me remember it).

And so, for her fighting style I think large rounding "super punches", and big round-house kicks are in order for her. Then, her defense should be very closed in, very feminine. Scratching the surface of "sexy" in her defensive maneuvers.

I think we should see two throws from her. One with the lasso in a very fast, emphasis on "velocity" (velocity blur) kind of "super-fast swinging//rounding throw. That ends with and extremely harsh smashing into the ground for the opponent. Like one of you guys have stated, she's killed people before, and I think that if there was ever a time to show how bad-ass she really is, this is the time to show it off about her. And so, to accompany the visual of this throw, I think that during the swing she should kinda grunt(like you would if you swung around something heavy above your head.), and then, when the opponent hits the ground, a very "powerful" scream would be in order. Emphasizing on how much power she put into the move.

It should make the opposing player react to the deterrent. Should piss people off that have it done to them in succession.

For the other throw, I think it should be a wrestling type maneuver. Something that has her grip up the opponents body. What comes to mind is the head drop that Ninja Gaiden is famous for. Seems very gentle, and persuasive going up, but coming down just hurts your feelings. lol!

Overall she seems like the type of character that would use an unorthodox boxing//kick-boxing, mixed with the old styles of wrestling...maybe a bit of some early form of Karate. She's a heads up fighter when she's standing, and an extremely physical character on the ground.

She doesn't come off as a "soft female" to me unless I consider her looks. But that contradiction is what's so cool about her. Aheh, She's gonna kiss you, but not the way you think she's gonna kiss you. *knuckle sandwich*

So, I think that if they really wanted to boost her fandom, and make people aware of how powerful, and cool she really is, they'd do something like that during a fatality sequence. At least. I mean, Fan service for the DC fans is irrelevant at that point, because it's just a cool thing to see happen.

While I'm at it, I wouldn't allow that as an alt costume either. I'd probably make people beg for it in a sequal game or something. But it'd have to be something exclusive to performing a fatality for her at first. It's just too cool to spoil it by getting used to it right away.

I think that's all I got for her. I don't know her character well enough to go into depth about her like I did Raiden aheh. I mean, it'd be nice if she could lop off a head by throwing her tiara, but beyond that, i don't see many options besides her lasso (breaking bones, or slamming people to death?) or just beating the crap out of someone.

Anyway yea.

Excellent thread Pred!

I’ve read your entire posts man, and I’ve got to say you have some very nice ideas regarding the thunder god.

I’ve been meaning to post a reply earlier, so I’m still going to give my bit on Rayden, if that’s Ok with you. smile

RaYdEn (yes, I like it better with the “Y”)

He is one of Mk’s biggest icons, and one of my fave characters as well, so yeah, I’ll be very happy if he makes the cut.

Raydens involvement in the series has grown and has been greatly developed, though many disliked this “suicide” and his new dark look, I dare to say even more loved it because it boosted up his storyline and finally gave him the twist he needed to become interesting again.

There’s so much potential in that aspect, but since talking about storyline at this moment of the game isn’t wise (we know nothing), I’ll just leave that for latter.

Looks:

Im a fan of his less-muscular/bulky look (Mk1-Mk4/MkSM), but I loved the super designs that they gave him for MKDA, those are probably his best looks. Rayden should get something along those lines, BUT it has to be something that looks new. It would be very boring to see him as he has been in the past games.

Depending on what they decide to do with his story, its also possible to get a “dark” new look for him, and that’s something Im hoping for (despite his MKDA looks being better then the ones of MKD).

Long white hair was an excellent addition (obvious nod to Lambert from the films), and I very much agree with you that the way the thunder-electricity swirled around his body in MK1 rocked, it looked cooler.

And yes, I prefer the shoes over the socks/sandals.

I love JAX007’s number one picture of Rayden. It’s a much more mature look for the guy, and he looks deadly! Horribly scary in a way. Number 2 feels much more like the Rayden we know and love that’s a great example, as for number 3, it’s an excellent pic, but it screams Deception all over the outfit, I wouldn’t like to see something so similar to his past designs.

And wow! Galardors is brilliant! I love almost everything about it. I would really change the pants and boots/shoes, it doesn’t seem that Rayden to me, specially the shoes. The pants could stay, but add to them something like the attire of Jax’s Number 2 picture. That would work.

Regarding the hood, hmmmm, its never really bothered me, I didn’t give it so much attention actually, I thought it looked excellent in one of the huge icon pics of tmdk though.

Special Moves:

The obvious classic ones:

* Lighting Bolt
* Torpedo

That’s it. His transportation is cool and all, but, has it ever been as useful as it was in MKT?

I say he should get 4 new moves. Its interesting because there are other characters such as Sonya who I think should get 4 of their classic moves back, and just 2 new ones.

Regarding Rayden...I’ve always thought it would be very cool to see him do some form of cloud/storms. You know, change the weather a bit and add a nice touch of effects, but maybe that could work well for a fatality, so:

Fatality

The concept you linked is brilliant. I love UltimateRyu’s work.

I noticed you mentioned Rayden throwing his bolts with little effort and making it look as if it wasn’t much trouble, I liked that, but that would be awesome to see implemented in his fatality. Would be a nice sarcastic touch actually.

As if: “Oh...what a waste” *BOOM...walks away*

Good idea on that part....sadly, I doubt that will ever happen.

Regarding my storm idea, I wish he could an awesome storm affecting the weather and all. You can picture the scenario I assume, quite chaotic and brutal.

And finally:

Renders:

I noticed you mentioned something about judging them in regards of their renders, well, I can perfectly understand that, but don’t forget that the in-game models are what truly counts. Scorpion and Superman, for example, look FANTASTIC in the ingame pics, very detailed and polished. Their renders are cool, but not as good as the in game pics...weird, huh?

I hoped you enjoyed my views on MK’s fave god.

And now:

Wonderwoman

Im honestly not really excited about WM, but she could look wicked for this game.

She will obviously get her classic attire, but I hope they give her an amazing alt that screams “Greek/Goddess” influence. Preferably loose the silly short mini dress and tiara. Give her armor like items but make her have a longer dress (that’s possible to fight in).

I like the bike rider pic Xia posted about her, that could work but it seems to be so out of place and simple for WM, and if only one alt costume will be available, I rather see her in a Greek/mystic design.

For special moves, I just hope they don’t all revolve around her whip. I assume she will be getting more “hand-to-hand” special moves, such as a special 3 kick combo or something like that.

Finally, I hope they do something mystic with her fatality. Sure she doesn’t necessarily call the forces of the gods and all that, but still, something “mythological” would be awesome.


Once again, Excellent thread!

Cant wait to see the next guys. BTW, you should add Catwoman to the list, since she has already been confirmed.

The only reason I think that we shouldn't speculate Catwoman next is because within a few days she will have her render released. Do an MK character next, so we can alternate between MK and DC.

We can even speculate Sonya for ya if you want Queve. wink

I think if anyone gets stuck with a cursed hairbun, it'll be bad news.

I do hope they don't go overboard with the cheesecake when they render her. Wonder Woman's costume does have an inherent cheesecakiness to it, but I hope they don't go too far with...like you said...implausible sized boobs, or thongs, or whathaveyou. There's a fine line there.

I do like the idea of her having some grappling attacks or throws...but I wouldn't have that be her defining fighting style. This kind of goes back to what I mentioned about how she can be a good all-around fighter. She can grappling attacks up close...swifter fast attacks from a distance...etc.

I am interested if they're going to let her have an actual Fatality. In the comics, Wonder Woman doesn't kill indescriminantly...she only really does it as a last resort...but she has killed. So I wonder if they'll allow her to have a real Fatality or just have her non-lethal like the other DC heroes.

It would be pretty cool if she was the only DC hero to do a Fatality though, I must admit.

Kitana & or Mileena

Pick the one you want to talk about, or do both. They're both expected to be in this game by a nice sized following. So, again keeping within the vein of characters that are not yet confirmed, I'd like to go with these two controversial MK women for a bit.

This might also help to see who is more desiredm and your position on "what you want".

First, i'll go with Mileena:

As far as appearance goes, I think that she looked best in her primary outfit in MKD, and I feel that is the outfit they should run with, but make minor changes here and there, but very minor because I think that is the outfit that also defines her.

As far as her moves are concerned, I would like to see her have:

Soaring Sais - Throws the two projectile sai at her opponent (can also be done in the air of course).

Teleport Kick - Teleports into the ground, appearing from the sky and kicks her opponent.

Rolling Thunder - she tucks into a ball and rolls under her opponent.

Fatal Bite - Basically similar to Raiden's grab move in DA, but instead she grabs the opponent and naws on their neck (finishing off the move by wiping the blood from her mouth while her opponent stumbles back).

As for another two, I really can't think of anything for her.

And for the Fatality, I think that her MK2 "Multiple Stabbing" Fatality would fit a T rating, and feel that is one of her better Fatalities. But once again in the interest of not using old recycled Fatalities:

She charges at the opponent and hops on top of them, knocking them to the ground. She then pulls out her two sai and lets out a loud scream as she begins to stab and cut away at her opponent. The opponent is left bloody and lifeless.

A variation of her MK2 Fatality that I mentioned, I know, but I think it's her best Fatality.

Kitana:

This character I think her MKDA appearance is the one that they should work off of. Her overall look never really changed that drastically, and think that this was the best look for her.

Special moves:

Fan Throw - Throws the fan at her opponent.

Fan Lift - Kitana spins her fans, levitating her opponent helplessly in the air.

Pretty Kick - Kitana flies at her opponent, kicking him/her multiple times.

Verticle Fan Slice - Same effect as Nightwolf's Axe Slice.

Teleport - Quick teleport to the other side of the opponent.

Gust of Wind - She swings her fan horizontally at a very high speed, blowing the opponent backwards.

Can't say I ever really enjoyed any of Kitana's Fatalities, so i'll do my best to make one up myself.

Kitana throws her fans at the opponent as they impale and stick into the opponents chest. She then does her "Pretty Kick", kicking the fans to kick them all the way through the opponents body.

Not the best Fatality, but it's the best I could come up with. Hope everything I said this time wasn't too bad.

Well, I think they should both be in. Kitana's a crucial character and an icon. Mileena's also iconic and is Mortal Kombat's pre-eminent "femme fatale."


Kitana

ATTIRE:
As mentioned already, Kitana's base design has varied very little over the years, so I imagine we'll end up seeing essentially an amalgamation of all her outfits. Basically, a blue & black bathing suit with some modifications here and there. Not sure what to expect then with her alt. I'd like to see something like this. And if you're wondering, she's warming up for DC by practicing on Marvel in that picture....natch. Or maybe something like this. Just as long as there's no hair bun. Buns are the devil's work. I'd like to see Kitana's hair down or in the absurdly long braid. Or one way for her primary and the other for her alt.


GAMEPLAY & SPECIAL MOVES:
I always thought Kitana was effective as a defensive fighter...controlling the pace of her fights. So I think her style should be like that. Keeping opponents away and forcing them to come at her so she can punish them with swift defensive attacks.

1) Fan Throw- Trademark move. I hope they keep it like it was in Armageddon. Nice and fast. Would be great if she could do an air throw, too.

2) Fan Lift- Another trademark move. Natural choice.

3) Fan Swipe- Since they won't have the weapon style anymore, we can see this move come back. A nice quick slash...good as a defensive move.

4) Pretty Kick- This was a nice little move. I'd keep it.

5) Fan Shockwave- One of the moves she in the Shaolin Monks boss battle, where she sends this shockwave thing at the opponent.

6) I've no use for the Square Wave Punch...especially if she can do the Fan Throw in the air. Her Pixie Dust Teleport was pointless...and idiotically named. I'd like to see Kitana have a new special move that doesn't revolve around her fans. I'm not sure what...maybe some kind of acrobatic attack...but it would be nice if we saw Kitana have special attacks that don't revolve solely on her fans.


FATALITIES:
I have a bad feeling we're only going to see yet another updated Kiss of Death and Fan Decapitation. I would love to see something different though....especially because I believe a lot more can with the fans. I can't really think of Fatalities for shit, though. Would be nice to see something new and gruesome for Kitana. If she does just have the same Fatalities again, I only hope they make good use of the graphics and make them look incredible edible.


STORY
As already pointed out, can't really say too much about the story when we know so little. I'm betting that this story will be very self-contained...so I wouldn't expect too much of Kitana's current personal issues or progression being much of a factor. She'll probably she looking to help prevent the realms from crashing down on themselves, par for the course. Whatever individual goals or purpose she has will depend on what the story is and who else is in it. As said earlier, I think if she's going to be paired off/with a DC character, she and Wonder Woman go well together. If they pick up on the current storylines in any way...with Kitana going through a lot stress and starting to break down...maybe meeting Wonder Woman will give Kitana a little moral boost..?

Mileena

ATTIRE:
I figure we'll see something similar to Mileena's Deception outfit, since that was her most distinctive look. Essentially the same, with maybe a minor modification here or there. For her alt, I can see them doing something like her Deception alt or something like her Shaolin Monks outfit.


GAMEPLAY & SPECIAL MOVES:
As opposed to Kitana, I always figured Mileena to be a very offensive fighter relying on speed and constantly being down her opponents throat. Aggreiveness suits Mileena.

1) Teleport Kick- Trademark move.

2) Ground Roll- Another trademark move.

3) Sai Throw- Trademark.

4) Maybe something where she bites her enemy.

5) Something else with her sai.

6) Some fast acrobatic move, maybe not unlike her throw in Deception?


FATALITIES:
I'm not good at thinking of Fatalities. I'm content with something involving Mileena mauling her enemy with her chopper and another involving her sai.


STORY
Well if Kitana's in the game, they'll probably go the iconic route and have Mileena determined to kill her and take her place. Like Kitana, I'm not really counting too much based on progression or development in the story.

Heh. I'll probably only be commenting on the MK characters discussed here since I'm not too familiar with DC's.

MILEENA -

Ah Mileena. My second favorite female charater in the MK universe. I loved her Decepion primary and alt. Both were great. However I perfered the MK2 feel of her character in that she had the feel of a sexy female assasin who is swift,agile,lethal, the works. In MKG+ I became to feel she was becoming more of an unstable character obsessed in becoming beautiful and stealing everything from Kitana. In MK VS DCU I would like to see her go back to the assasin type thing and leave the whole 'I wanna be Kitana" thing behind or ignore it at least.

So again first off is the Primary. Like I said I want it to have sort of an MK2 type feel to it. But more than a pink Kitana pallette swap. So I was thinking she could have something resembiling Kitana's MKDA costume (Or MKA alt whichever) Different of course,but similar. I think this look worked quite well for her in UMK3 and MKT. Then I would love to see her have her Sais in a sheath like Kira and Kano keep their kives. A double strap around her thighs would be perfect I think. Of course we won't see weapons in this game but I think it would still be cool to see. And perhaps she could use them in a special. So then I would have her hair like it was in MKD. In a ponytail. Just liked it best that way. (Her MKD alt had great hair but it just wouldn't fit into the costume I am sugessting) Perhaps they could give her some earrings too. Small studs with a dragon logo (like mine lol) would be cool. Then of course there is the problem of her Tarkatan mouth and teeth. There are 2 main soloutions to this of course...

1 - She keeps her MKD/MKSM veil

2 - She wears her MK2 ninja mask

I personally perfer 1 myself. It just seems to fit more. The MK2 mask worked in the old games fine but I like the veil much better. It gives her character sort of an element of mystery.

So that's basicly how I would have her primary. Now on to the alt...

For an I would do exactly the same thing they did in MKD. Give her a more appealing look than the classic assasin threads. I would however give her a different top and stuff to not copy her previous. Perhaps some crazy outfit like Vorpax had in MK Conquest would work if you wanted something different. A lot of good examples are out there. I think if they threw some stuff together from previous costumes you would get an ideal one for any character.

So now that the look is pretty much covered I'll move on to my special move ideas for her. One thing I never liked about Mileena was she only had 3 special attacks. (not counting her grab) And the 3 she had weren't too interesting or amazing. So anyways here they are...

1 - Sai Throw - Basicly an upgrade of Mileena's "Soaring Sai" special attack. I would have her throw actuall sais though (Not some pink things) and have them hit and impale the opponent. It would sorta work like Sareena's Throwing Knife special. But with the Sai.

2 - Teleport Kick - This one would pretty much be the same as before. I'd give it more of an MKSM type look though. The main difference was she would dissapear in a pink cloud thing. I liked that better.

3 - Assasin Strikes - This one is my own. Here Mileena takes out her sai and does about 7 or 8 lightning fast slashes to her opponent. It would fit if Midway were to give her the assasin type feel back to her.

4 - Sai Stab - This could be done in multiple ways. The first is she could kick her opponent to the ground and stab him with her sais repeatedly. Then she could kick her opponent into the air and do it also. Or she could jump on her opponent and stab him/her. (Baraka had something similar to this in MKSM) Then of course she could just do it standing in fromt of them. I would save that for a fatality though.

5 - Rolling Thunder - I was never really a fan of this move. She rolls on the ground... Yay. But if she had a pink blur behind her and they made it go faster (Like in MKSM) it could be included.

Not really anything else to add here. On to fatalities.

Fatality 1 - Sai Perferate - I Loved this fatality in MK2 and once I saw it in MKSM is was overjoyed to see they chose it over the kiss and blow fatality which would have been a complete disaster.

So sorry I didn't add a second. I just can't think of anything new and origina. There is a huge number of old fatalities that could be reused with Mileena but I want to see something different. I'll leave this to Midway.


KITANA -

Kitana is my third favorite female character for obvious reasons. She is a great character and I would love to see her in the game. So here are my ideas for her.

Kitana like Mileena was once an assasin for Kahn. But she left most of that behind now. I would like her primary to have some of the assasin qualities she had in MK2 and MKSM. So first of all let me say that I indeed liked her MKSM costume the best. It was perfect for her in my opinion. I would definetly love to see her MKSM mask back in MK VS DC. Now her hair... I would definetly keep the braid she had in MKDA. Perhaps not as long though. We have Sindel for that. Her primary top I think should be the exact same as her MKSM. But with a different design. Perhaps she could have a black MKSM type top with 3 blue stripes that come to a point and go diagonally to the right. and the Edenian Kamidogu's design on the back in blue. And a blue belt would be great. Now for the legs. Here I would take the same boots she had in MKDA. But with black stripes again. Or maybe black with blue strypes. They both sound fine too me. Then I would have a blue band around the boots that hold a sheath that contains her steel fans.
I think this sound great for a primary.

Now for her alt I would like to (like Raiden) look to the movies for examples. The Kitana costumes in MK 1 and 2 and MK Conquest were good for me. Exept maybe she could have some blue straps wrapped around her waist and one wrapped around her chest like a sash with some ancient Edenian symbols on it possibly. I like the idea.

As for Special moves I think we can expect Kitana's classic moves back. I will add a couple though...

1 - Fan throw- Same as in all her preivious games. I would like to see her MKSM fans return in place of her MKDA/MKA ones however.

2 - Squarewave punch - Same as in MKA.

3 - Fan lift - Same as in MKSM.

4 - Pretty Kick - Same as in MKA.

5 - Teleport - Same as in MKA

6 - Ground Slam - Kitana had a move like this in MKSM. She would pull out her fans,jump in the air,and slam into the ground creating a blue wave of energy that tossed you back. I would love to see this back.

7 - Fan slash - Just a quick slash to the neck that would give Kitana a free hit. I could see this in because there won't be weapons to fight with. I'm sure they will appear in special attacks though.

And last but not least... the fatalities!

Fatality 1 - Kiss of death. In MK VS DC we won't be seeing mutilation of body parts so I changed it up a little. Kitana kisses the opponent on the cheek and the start to quiver a little. They stiffen their hands and their veins begin to pop out. Their skin starts to loose it's color and turn pail. They fall to their knees and stretch out their hand with their fingers stiff and curved, their whole hand shaking... before falling stone dead on the ground.

Fatality 2 - Fan throw - This was an idea I got from Mortal Kombat Conquest. There was an episode in which Kitana threw her steel fan into Rain's head for a kill and I thought it looked kool. So she reaches down and pulls her fans out and opens them. She takes a step back and leaps into the air tossing her fans into the opponent with full force. One goes straight into the middle of the opponents head and the other lands straight in the lungs. Gasping for breath the opponent falls to his knees and slowly crumbles to the ground. (Not litlerally)

Oh my, I appologise for this huge post and again if I'm too late for Kitana and Mileena.

What I think I'll do since I'm reading every post in here, is compile a "profile" if you will, for each of the characters that we discuss. Consisting of the common attire that has maybe been repeated. 1 main primary, 1 main alt, 1 alternate primary, and 1 alternate...alt costume. Then, some 6-10 special moves & or Fatalities that I see us kind of agreeing on....I'll site the person who came up with whatever concept, so I can just...copy and paste it in the profile for that character as we go along. We'll move on to whatever the next character is before I do this, cuz I know I like to edit things.

I figure, that if by chance the MKTeam is actually peeking in, they'd appreciate more organization....I think that it'd also help define for ourselves what we're asking for.

And of course, all this can be critiqued and tweaked by persuading me to edit them if we don't agree on some aspect of the character in question...?

good/bad? worth a shot?....at least interesting think.

Let me comment on the current, and I'll get to ^^that.

I prefer Kitana over Mileena because of her fans, so I'll go with her first.


Attire- Nothing like visuals eh?

By Garlador It's her....it's just different. I love what he did with her look overall. Seems like the spruce up I've been waiting for from her. The hair, MKSM-esk mask, the bathing suit is different, but not too much. The jewelry, choke chain isn't abrasive, and she still looks like she could kill you and be nice about it...ect. lol He did a wonderful job with her.

By Al Royo Now, I do not like her MKDA alt. Not one bit, but this guys picture looks like if you colored her outfit majority blue and black somehow, it'd work. I don't know, I just like it. A lot.

MKDA Primary That's tied with her...

MKSM Primary So, I'd appreciate a culmination of those two if the fan art was not taken into account.

As much as I despise the bun, the whole look worked.

I'm gonna lean on XD84 though, and say that I'd like to see what a primary with her hair down, and the alt with the super-long pony-tail would look like. No more of the cursed bun if you can at all help it. I don't like that...that "thing". lol

Therefor, I'd also agree to something like this costume that XD84 has presented. Again, it's different enough to notice that she's not freezing her "boobs" off, but it's still Kitana. Oddly, it looks like a good crossover game outfit. wink It works like crazy though.

Other Stuff:

- Mask pattern = MKSM.
- Go with the high boots, that's just her.
- Add some flare to her, a subtle pattern like in MKSM is all it takes. Maybe some jewelry, or a tamed spunky looking hair style like Garlador has, is all it takes. I know more about her than I did before, because of his render for some reason. See?

Special Moves- I have a few ideas actually.

1.) Fan throw- duh But also, what about the closed fan throw? Same maneuver, less damage. Just a quick *glick!* Have her back-hand this closed fan throw though. So that it looks different.

2.) Fan Lift - duh But also, what about a move that pulls the opponent in? Using the force from the fan, she could manipulate, or even throw her opponent...slam them up against stuff..ect

3.) Fan Swipe -close range. BUT, even if this is an individual move, by itself, this move must also stay apart of at least one combo she has. It has a great aesthetic appeal to it, and it is extremely gratifying to pull off. I loved it in the early games, and I loved it in the latest games. *fan, no fan, fan, no fan..ect*

Nice! Allow me though. When I see fights with those fans, there is a way the character//person behaves with them. For instance, after a parry or throw or even assault is dealt out, Kitana might open one of her fans up, and quiskly "cool herself off". Could be a taunt, but that's not exactly what I'm after. I'm talking about the type of...aahh here, some of the behavior i mean is is in this cartoon. Kyoshi Warriors That cartoon is awesome btw, the martial arts choreography constantly impresses.

So, in agreement with your move there Grimm, I'd have her do some sort of acrobatic flip in pretense to smacking the opponent with the air from the fans(OR, she could just throw the fans after the flip). Signifying "centrifugal force" in the move itself. Could also act as a dodge attack, or reversal-in-special moves.

"They throw something, she moves, she throws her fans...ect"

This is a deterrent move, while #2 is a baiting move.

5.) Kitana could throw both her fans at once, for once. Let those things fly man....Have her throw those things in a weird way towards the opponent for the attack(passive aggressive - like, she throws them, they fly up, or out, or something. And like flicking playing cards, her fans are not spinning, but they take a violent turn to assault the opponent). Should be quick, like the girl in that vid...Just, different. Jumping//air attack in the same fashion is also absolutely necessary. She's good for it.

I mean, this is a 3D game. They could come back to her like boomerangs, like they did back in the day, or they could come back by way of magic.

I figure, if they're gonna have a character with the fans, those fans should be a part of her personality. Like an extension to her own arms and the way she generally moves around. Almost everything her hands and arms do, could be a potential threat with those fans.

6.) Drop kick duh. BUT, what if it were like a falling bicycle kick eh? Makes sense to be able to do that while falling. And what's great about it, is she'd land on her feet anyway, HA! How's that for a Catwoman counter?

Mainly though, my thing is I like the fans alot, and I wish they'd bolster her up as an ex-assassin. What's unique about her hasn't really been being explored. Those fans are always crazy to see in action so, "Gimme"?


Fatalities

1.) Have her take her fans out, no blades normally. But during this fatality, *shing!* Then, to appease the T rating, have her smack the opponent with one of them(horizontally across the face, and or body), and let her re-sheath the blades and fan herself as if the opponent just grabbed her goods while she walks away(LOL!). Then, as the camera follows Kitana off-screen, we barely see that the opponent that was still in-tact after the smack(in shock, but in-tact), falls apart into pieces. Per, however many blades there were sticking out of her fans. Kinda like Shujinkos fatality, where he kicks the opponent. Maybe she'd mumble, or simply go *Hmp!* as she walks hastily away.

THAT, would push the T rating, and give her an adequate "fatality".

Call it like, "Lady, "slash", Killer" or something to that effect.

2.) Have her act like what she is, AN ASSASSIN! Screen turns dark, and she kinda "sneaks" up to the opponent. When she's in swiping range, have her really quickly whip out, and swipe the opponent in the fashion of wearing a garb or banner across the chest(like miss America here). From the waist, up across the chest, and high up through the collar bone, and over-head....then the fan gets closed all being done with, and keeping her fan in her left hand....

Since she stepped forward, and the opponent is still standing there in-tact, but stunned from what she just did. She'd step right into - "The Kiss of Death". (HA!)

So, she kisses them, and walks away in the fashion I described earlier, and as the camera follows Kitana off-screen, the top half of the opponent Ssssllliiiiiiiides off the bottom half of them in a dreadful diagonal direction off screen. I wrote all of this kinda complicated, but it's a "one motion deal", until she turns around and walks off screen in the opposite direction.

THAT, would push the T rating, and give her an adequate "fatality".

Nothing on her story, that's all you XD84....

I hardly ever reply to threads like this but Kitana is the only character I still like so I figured I'd change things up a bit and post my opinion. I won't be doing Mileena because I feel she is tired and doesn't deserve a spot in the next game.

KITANA

Outfit - My favorite outfit for Kitana has and always will be her MKDA alt/MKA primary. It's a very elegant and sleek design. I have no use for a ninja outfit honestly. It's a very tired look and it doesn't even match Kitana's character anymore. She's not one of Kahn's assassins now, she's a princess and a freedom fighter. In addition MK has far too many ninja characters as it is.

Story - I have very little faith in the ability of MK story writers, and I have no reference to base an opinion on DC writers. I'm betting Kitana will play a "helpful" supporting role, which I would be fine with.

Special Attacks

Fan Throw/Air Fan Throw - Not much variance on her standard Fan Throw. A new throwing pose might be a nice change though. If jumping is a part of the game I'd like to see her Air Fan Throw return.

Fan Wave - I've always enjoyed this attack and I liked her MKDA pose. I would consider this her "signature move".

Fan Deflect - She spreads open her steel fans to deflect an incoming projectile.

Pretty Kick - It's simple and graceful. I much prefer it over the Square Wave Punch.

Helicopter Kick - I'm sure you've all seen this move before, but I'll try to describe it as best as possible. It starts with a small sliding kick, followed by Kitana going into a handstand and spinning her body, striking her opponent with her legs.

Backflip Kick - A simple backflip which can act as a defensive tactic that can her push her opponent back on contact, or knock them down.

Fatalities - I'm not inventive as far as fatalities go but I think at this point in the game Kitana is in desperate need of some new ones.

Lets start with the best, the psycho bitch who is more then iconic enough to be in the game:

Mileena

What’s so great about her? Almost everything, from her stylish and sexy new look, to her fantastic storyline, to her beautiful teeth...she is just the perfect girl and every man’s fantasy....O_O, ok, Scratch that last bit.

Seriously, Mileena has managed to get out of Kitana’s shadow in an impressive and powerful way, and its kind of ironic seeing as how she still desires to be Kitana, but the new twist they gave her character was enough to make her stand out for her own.

Moving on:

Looks:

I don’t want to see them recycling costumes without making them feel new. Take Sonya for example, its almost 90% new and 10% classic (just to give a weird example), same has to be done with Mileena!

Her MKD is unquestionably her best, so go from there keeping the veil and the long sleeves. Maybe the way her outfit covered her boobs could be used, but there are plenty of original ideas to give hr outfit a fresh look.

I really HOPE to see some teeth during the fighting sequences if she makes it. Imagine the possibilities of seeing her deformed mouth in this new engine in klose kombat!!! Excellent! They have to look gross, disgusting, add a grayish and green look to her skin in that part, and make the teeth more yellow and redish if possible.

As for an alternate, how about giving Mileena really really long hair? Not like Kitanas style in MKDA, more like a Mk2 hair style that goes all the way down to her butt. It would be nice. And say, give her a form of royalty like dress where she can fight in, that would look brilliant if well implemented, but I think that Kitana desperately needs a look like that, so the dress should probably be saved for Kitana.

Maybe give her back her MK2 look BUT with many obvious alterations. Making the suit look anything but simple such as weird designs, some for of necklaces, etc.

Special Moves

Im sick of seeing her with the same repetitive 3 specials:

Sai
Roll
Air-Transportation Kick

All those are, well, her only moves.

Lets see, the sai should be redone in order for it to look new. The roll can remain the same, but the Air kick should get a twist, like, after connecting with the first hit add a second sai attack before the victim hits the ground.

New moves could involve the use of her sais, but they have to be distinctive.

Fatality

So many wonderful brutal ideas I have...but none fit the “T”rating system, but maybe:

Have Mileena doing her trademark “remove my mask to eat you” fatality, but instead of letting us see all the gore, make her scare the victim, let us see us how she slowly (as if flirting) approaches the defeated opponent, and how she wildly jumps at him making gruesome noices. The camera then shows us only Mileena’s back on top of the victim eating and destroying the body. We don’t see a thing but her wild movements and the victims horrible struggles, but we can hear everything. Imagine a zombie eating someone.

Then she stands up with style looking all proud and in a gross way cleans her mouth with her sleeve or hand.

Excellent. Is that up for a “T” rating?

Story

Well, we cant say much about anyone in this aspect. Probably we will after E3...probably not.

Mileena’s story is super deep already, so, as long as they keep it all bad-a*s as it was in MKD-MKA, Im happy.

Kitana

The iconic babe of the deadly steel fans! If Kitana makes it, her steel fans are the thing that Im most excited to see/use. Imagine the power of the steel fans with this new engine!

Looks

My favorite look for Kitana has been Shaolin Monks render, period. They did a great job mixing new and classic elements to her outfit. The bun looked horrible though, what happened to the awesome long MKDA hair! The first pics of Kitana in MKSM showed her with the long hair, it as such a shame they decided to cut it.

Oh yeah, keep the mask on!!! Its kind of like a trademark of her to use it. I don’t think it worked well without the mask, they still don’t capture the “Talisa Soto” look well enough.

Her alt must be something completely new. I didn’t like any of her MKDA-MKA outfits because that look doesn’t suit her anymore, despite MKSM render being my fave for her.

If she does make it, I hope she gets a royal like outfit. Something that’s more likely to fit her image then walking around half naked. If she cant get a dress, give her some style of long pants and cover her chest.

Now that I think about it, if we stop to consider Sindel has a chance of being in the roster, I rather see the Queen with an elegant awesome dress outfit.

Special Moves

Same as Mileena, she hasn’t had anything that new for ages! I say its time to use those steel fans to their full potential.

Fan throw
Fan lift

Those are in for sure. But I loved some of the MKSM powers. How about a fan swipe where she is spinning around like a whirlwind (not Kabal like, more slowly so we can appreciate the cool effects)?

How about a fan clash were making them clash together a powerful sort of wave pushes the victim away (yeah, I know a similar idea was posted but I thought of it too!)?

Her Jade teleport has to go, she should had never used the wave punch to begin with, and the pretty kick should return, but hopefully with a new name.

Fatality

Slice the victim from the crotch to the head? A whirlwind fan-like attack that cuts the opponent into pieces? An fan throw that spins infinitely in the victims chest taking out all their organs and stuff?

So many wonderful ideas, but since none is likely to work, I expect to see her doing the kiss of doom, and I do hope its more original and fun this time!

I loved the idea of she making the victim go super pale with the veis suddenly showing and getting all revolted, etc. I think those style of lets show some horrible parts but NOT the entire death fit the T thing well.

Say she kisses the guy, then he starts to shake and get all sorts of colors and veins in his body, blood coming out of his eyes, and then as he falls, we can only see his quivering body getting paler and stiffer, and the camera shows Kitana looking indifferent as we hear horrible sounds that tell us that the body is slowly exploding.

Fun.

But how about something new? She always gets similar decapitations and kisses of doom, I'd love to see them do something new for a change.

Storyline

Again, no clue till we get more then just “worlds collide”.

Mileena


I love Mileena, she's a worthy second to Sonya in my book. I honestly think MK needs to keep a character like MIileena around for a few reasons, the main ones being her unique identity in the MK universe, her viciously enticing personality, and the freedom she gives the MK team to explore her bursting desire for power in many different scenarios. She needs to come back in MKDC so we can all feel safe knowing that she's invaded next-gen installments at last!



Looks


Look-wise, I'd like a mix of Mileena's primary and secondary outfits in the past two games. The hair should somewhat resemble her alternate, as it screams sexy and dangerous in the way it falls slightly over her hungry eyes. The clothings that make up her primary outfit are pretty nice IMO, but should be somewhat updated and spiced up for new games. I'll address this later if I have some more free time.

Quick 5-minute Sketch
That's just a very quick sketch I made to show you guys a bit of what I think her hair should look like this time around. Basically, keep the alternate with one side falling over her eyes and the other sort of behing her left ear, but do something with the strands that make her hairstyle appear "pointy" at the tips, falling just over her shoulders. I think it's an update that fits her much better.




Moves


(Hope you don't mind some copy/paste action, Pred)

I've played a lot with Mileena in Deception and Armageddon. She's pretty good, though her special moves are kind of getting stale, not to mention they're very risky to use.

I think her moves need to be flashier and more devastating than they are now. Right now, Mileena is most efficient in her combos, which is not fair to the girl.

My suggestions for "flashier" versions of her more well-known old moves:

Teleport Kick: A gust of magenta fog materializes beneath Mileena's boots, and she sinks into them feet-first, vanishing into the ground. She reappears on the opposite side of her opponent, plumetting from the sky, leaving a track of the magenta fog as she flies diagonally at her victim with a series of spinning kicks. Her victim can suffer a total of three hits from her kicks if they all hit. If blocked, Mileena should just jump back and away instead of being set up for punishment.

Soaring Sais: Mileena swings her arms forward and crosses them, simultaneously releasing her Sais. They fly at her opponent while leaving behind tiny, magenta orbs that fall to the floor above the area where they soar. If they hit, they burrow into the opponent and knock them down.

I don't think her "Rolling" special is too "special", if you know what I mean. Mileena's cooler than rolling at her victim's feet.

Coming Through: Magenta fog surrounds Mileena and propels her forward while she twirls her Sais in every direction, continuously, in hopes of slashing her victim with up to four consecutive hits.

Hunger Strike: When performed, Mileena's hands become enshrouded by the same fog temporarily. If her opponent attacks her while she is in this state, she will grab the attacking limb, bring it up to beneath her veil, and take a bite out of it before kicking the poor victim away. If Mileena is not attacked while in this state, she will slash at the air with her hands in an "X" motion, causing the fog to disappear - during this very rapid action, she is free to be hit.

Throw - Lunchtime: Mileena grabs her opponent's shoulders and pushes herself slightly upward. She begins biting away at the victim's neck and, at the same time, knees his/her stomach continuously. She tops it off by spinning backward and knocking the victim across the arena with a strike from both boots.

SPECIAL MOVE:
Suspenseful Death:
Mileena sinks into the floor through her magenta fog, similar to her Teleport Kick, during which time the other player can evade damage. If failed, her opponent searches for her fearfully, while the screen follows. Mileena eventually appears right behind her adversary; we hear her yell out, in a growling voice: "Surprise!" The victim spins around and sends a left and a right hook her way. Mileena grabs both of his/her arms and bites each one, her veil popping up and showing us her mouth for a split second. As the victim yells out and stumbles backward, arms bleeding, Mileena whips out her Sais and begins to perform a complex dance routine like a ballet, each step allowing her to cut an area of her opponent's body. With a Teleport Kick, she finishes her special move. If her opponent successfully evaded damage, he/she will not turn when Mileena yells out "Surprise!", but instead will quickly smack her square in the face with the back of his/her fist, ending her special.




Fatalities (In Hopes of Traditional-Style Fatalities)


Last Scare: Mileena drives her Sais through both of the victim's arms. She then pulls the handles back, ripping out the arm in the process. She brings the arms up to her mouth (beneath the veil). We now hear loud chewing sounds and an occasional, raspy "YUM!", while blood flies everywhere from under the veil and fragments of the arm fall to the floor. The armless victim screams in horror while watching Mileena chow down, then turns back to try and escape. Mileena grabs the victim's shoulder before he/she can take a single step, spins him/her around, and sinks her teeth into his/her neck. Finally, Mileena yanks her head back (ripping out the head) and spits it out while the corpse falls to the floor. She does her "sexy" pose and the orgasmic-sounding evil laugh.

='( I would burst into tears of joy if she had this fatality for the new game.

Sanguine Shower: Mileena withdraws her Sais and crouches down before her opponent. She begins slicing at their legs with her weapons in an incredibly-fast pace, so that we can't even make out her arms as they swing the blades (blood flies out, but the victim remains whole). She stands, but never stops slicing away, and eventually reaches their head, still slicing. She jumps and flips over her opponent, but again, never stops slicing. During her flip, her Sais cut at the top of the victim's head, back of his/her neck, and back. Mileena only stops her slicing when her feet touch the ground behind the victim. She ducks, then spins around and back into a standing position with one last, powerful slice. During this last slice, the victim's body bursts into very tiny pieces which rain all over the arena.

Hara-Kiri: Mileena flings her Sais into the air, then jumps and begins to flip backward. She is unable to flip all the way, however, because the Sais fall back and sink into each of her breasts mid-flip. Mileena falls with her back to the ground, blood pools beneath her body.



(I'm not gonna do Kitana right now 'cuz I'm running out of free time already, and I much prefer Mileena over her ^_^)

Doing Wonder Womans "profile" for the starter post now....

Martian Manhunter is certainly versatile. Let's see what we come up with for him. He's also a character that is expected, but not confirmed.

Green Lantern Primary

Hal Jordan



Hal Jordan simply has to be in this game and absolutly needs to be the primary GL costume. He is THE first GLC Green Lantern of Earth and, as such, has a place of honor amongst the others. He also sports the streamline basic GLC uniform, no firlls, no bells, and no whistles.

Green Lantern Secondary

Parallax



If I were to rank these potential costumes based on how much I want them in, this one would come in dead last. This costume is from when Hal Jordan was possesed by the Parallax entity. If it were in it would be purely for fan wank. It is far to simple and plain for a secondary costume, IMO. The only thing special about it is the cape and the chest plate, which are both rather dull.

Alan Scott



This... is... the... COSTUME. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern. This is my first place choice. Somehow it manages to be really corny and really kickass at the same time. What is so great about this is that it doesn't just have someone else in the suit. Unlike any of the others, it isn't simply a variation of the GLC uniform, it is entirely different. In addition him being the first Green Lantern, period, should give him some serious respect point.

Guy Gardner



And this is my number two choice for an alt. Personally, I hate Guy Gardner, I really do, but the fact of the matter is that he's got a great costume and the most original one of the GLC members.

Kyle Rayner



Kyle is number three. It's a pretty interesting costume.

John Stewart



John's number four, it's a pretty dull costume, but hey, black guy!

Specials


1.) Boxing Glove/Fist: This is a classic and a must have. GL uses the ring to create a giant boxing glove or fist and then thwaks the opponent with it. I think that the opponent should go flying as far as possible after getting hit with this (Like Rain's roundhouse).

2.) Beam: Fires a simple beam from the ring. It should cause very little hitstun.

3.) Bubble: Creates a sheild around GL that blocks any incoming projectile and repels the opponent. No damage.

4.) Dash-Strike: Flies in towards opponent, similar to Raiden's move, but instead of ramming them he stops short and punches them. If, when he is preparing to stop, the opponent isn't infront of him when he prepares to strike he instead strafes and turns around. Great for starting combos.

5.) Toss: Wraps a beam around the opponent and tosses them behind him.

6.) Emerald Machine Gun: Fires a bunch of shards of energy at the opponent and sweeps to the right.

Finishers/Fatalaties


Ion: GL is indweled by the Ion entity greatly increasing his power. He then beats the opponent senseless.

First Law of Ten: The first law of ten in the book of Oa is rewritten, allowing GL to use lethal force. He creates the giant fist which grabs the opponent and squeezes. The opponent screams as the sound of shattering bone is heard. The opponent finally coughs up some blood, goes limp and silent, and is dropped.

Can we update? This is a good thread and not worth losing.

As for GL.
I say the Hal Jordan look is best for him.

I think we all agree on specials.

Srry but I just don't know DC's characters enough to make any good points/suggestions.
