Nothing ironic about it, just merely posting my views which happen to be different then some on here. I have no problem agreeing nor disagreeing with someone. As I'm sure you've noticed at this stage. If someone agrees, they agree, if not then they don't. I really don't see the big deal. It's only when someone starts flaming in a pointless fashion is when people get desperate at holding a valid argument. Know what I mean? This is MKO, surely you understand what I'm referring to.

I don't mind everyone being "excited, cautious, or optimistic" but when someone has the game "bad already" or "great already" is when the "blinded by arrogance" card comes into play.

I'm looking very optimistic, and looking forward to it but don't have the game judged as "perfect or great" but FTR, we've seen way more people bash and shit on the game already as oppose to people having the game great already.

That ratio isn't even comparable, well...perhaps now it might be since more people are coming around to accepting the idea but the first few weeks and even now with some users...the game is already "crap" in their mind. An amazing trick considering the game isn't even out yet huh?

Nobody should judge any game prior to it's release, prior to you playing it for hours, days even in some people's case since different gamers learn/pick up a game faster then others might.

Essentially what happened was this:

1. MK Team begins work on the next MK game.
2. Midway contacts DC among others about a possible game.
3. DC is interested.
4. Midway brings the idea to the MK Team.
5. The MK Team ponders whether or not they should do this.
6. The MK Team agrees and begins to morph the next MK game into MK Vs. DC Universe.
7. Midway and the MK Team show off the game and MK fanboys get pissy.

There you go. That's what happened.

I mean yeah dude, I totally agree and disagree.
They could still make some pretty good Characters, For instance, Tanya was pretty Popular, But kind of Pointless you see.
It was the same with Dairou. A lot of characters though after Deadly alliance, There were some....Very stupid Characters.
And also they can still make some good fighters. and Good Character backround...It's just the problem is that no fans right now are Incouraging that. It's all of our faults I hate to admit. But we rush them into making a Game. A game Like Halo that they've had to delay or redo or take time making...Makes a very good game. How many here have played Gears of War? How many here have played all the halo Games? How many here have played pasr Tekken Games. All delayed and Time taken made games.
And they were all very very Good games.
I really don't want MKvDCU To come out this year, I rather next year.
That way it'll be better... It'll take time...But in the end, It'll be worth it.

One minor correction, SOME MK fanboys get "pissy" there are some of us looking forward to the game.

Jack Burton has no objections to the crossover...yet. I'm going to wait and play it for myself before I pass final judgment. I'm simply saying that we shouldn't go calling this game MK8 just yet...doing such a thing is like saying the events of this game will be canon for a future MK title...I can see it now:

Hypothetical scenario for MK9: After Raiden brutally killed Superman with an axe, the forces of the MK world teamed up to invade the rest of the DC world, when all of a sudden...*gasp!!!...Marvel characters warped in somehow to try and stop them...

Before anyone goes criticizing me for that, I KNOW that's the most pathetic thing I've ever come up with...you need not tell me that. All I'm saying is that talk of such DC characters in a MK9 (if this is actually deemed MK8) would feel pretty weird to me...that's all.

I completely agree. The new characters lately haven't been all that great (shujinko, taven, daegon, blah blah blah)

I think this game is to postone what they REALLY wanted to do, and they just needed a butt-load more time to develope good stories and what not.

I disagree....a true fan of anything will at the very least "give their team/game/movie" a chance to prove itself, and I'm sorry to say but a lot of the haters of this game already are hardly doing so....

Some will like it if the games doing "well" overall, yet when it struggles or has a "shocking or overall view" then some of those same "fans" will shit on it....

A true fan won't do that, am I saying they have to praise it, always love it? No..what I'm saying is that they'll be openminded to newer ideas, give the game a chance and actual play the game before judging it....

And you misunderstand me a little....I'm not judging anything yet....I'm being optimistic and openminded into new ideas.

About a real fan should give the team a chance to prove themself.
I gave them a chance..I bought MKDA (and a playstation 2 just because of it), bought MKD, but didn't buy MKA, because I didn't really like the previous two.

Still I consider myself a fan. It looked like you were claiming that someone like me isn't what u call a fan..but if I misunderstand that, cool. My bad.

I have to agree with Sub-Frost055 on this, with exception of this being the dumbest rant part, I've heard dumber. They could create new characters, but that's what they'd done practically every game. They probably had writters block and decided why not have already existing classic characters compete with classic characters from another universe.

You're entitled to you view and glad you see mine, but just want to say the games you've listed are only 3 games in which MK:DA was very good overall, very balanced, cool new roster, oldschool elements etc

MKD was good in presentation but had some issues, I did enjoy Ermac, Baraka, Mileena etc brought back revamped though ha, ha :)

MKA I liked because of the KAK and Konquest, every character in it. It also had some gameplay issues but not nearly as bad as MKD's....they were just aweful

MKDA wasn't a terrible game..I did enjoy it for some time. Really liked some of the new characters (Mavado, Kenshi). But it really wasn't my cup of tea. I didn't felt the graphics, the character design and the fighting style engine.

MKD was what MKDA should've been (maybe not gameplay wise). Had a what darker vibe to it which I liked. But because of the above reasons I played it for a month and never touched it again. That's why I didn't bought MKA. Because it was more of the same with some extra's.

Just a matter of opinion and personal taste.

Yeah, exactly dude. I enjoyed MK:DA a lot at first, initially I didn't like it but that changed lol. Was addicted to it the moment I got it. That's why I'm really hyped about MK8 because we're getting a whole new game completely.

Nah, not because of characters. I'd gather it's either:

1. Always been something he's//they've wanted to do and everything finally came together.

2. Wanted to do this before he retired.

3. Lack of creativity with the same product over the years(try drawing the same picture differently 100 times), ideas and regurgitation overall.

Didn't really know where to go with it next, and the opportunity presented itself. Couldn't figure out how to make MK "better".

Other fighting game franchises have created generators to create characters from preset parts. The results are often better than the MK creations.

Threadmaker: you're misunderstanding the process of character design. It's really, REALLY not that difficult.

I don't know, character design is matter of opinion really....but it's not like other fighters have had "amazing character designs" SF has hardly changed until recently, still same oldschool costumes yet you won't hear SF fans complain about "costume design" like some MK fans might

The thing that I like about Midway artists is that they often draw concept designs first most of the time if not all the time, which we've seen as extras in the past.
