So a few days ago, I started my first day on a new unit at the hospital I work at. I'm basically JUST a receptionist, my presence isn't really needed there, out-patient testing has four other receptionists, so obviously I feel like I'm not helping out very much. Not to mention there weren't many patients, so I spent most of the day staring at the fishies.
So yesterday when I arrived to the hospital, me and three other people (who also hate their units) decided to roam around the hospital to kill a little bit of time, and then we sat down in a lobby. Literally thirty seconds later a nurse came in and asked us, "Aren't you guys Dakota students? Shouldn't you guys be working?" Feeling awkward, I let my peers do the talking and we all walked out and returned to our units.
One of the guys, Kurt, whose unit is right next to mine wanted me to help him pass out water to patients (which is all we do at the hospital) so I helped him. It took a good twenty minutes, and then one of the nurses asked us to take an envelope to the ICU, so we did. That killed more time.
when we got bac, two girls told us that our teacher, Ms. Bailey was looking for us, so we knew at that point the nurse had ratted us out, and it didn't do me any better that I wasn't in my unit. So I returned to my unit, sat behind the desk for about five minutes, and became bored again.
I went to the X-Ray room where a patient was about to get a chest X-Ray, and I turn around, and there's my teacher... standing behind me like Michael Myers, ready to kill me. She's starts bitching me out right there in the X-ray room within ear shot of the waiting patient, she didn't really give me a chance to explain myself, she threatened suspension, expulsion, she said she was gonna write me up, and you know, stuff like that. she also talked to the other three students after me.
to be honest, I have some serious summer fever right now, suspension wouldn't really be that big of a deal, but since I have a clean record, they would prolly just give me a detention, which sucks because it's one less hour to finish my exam papers and shit.
when I got on the bus, some girls were taling about how after she bitched me out, one of the nurses yelled at her because she was screaming at me nearby a patient and therefore showing a lack of professionalism. This wouldn't be as big a deal, but then she goes to the Medical 1 and medical 2 teacher and tell them what happened.
Today, when I went to the Med 1 room to finalize my portfolio, like I had been doing the past two days after school with my former teacher, she was suddenly treating me differently, like she didn't wanna see me. THAT'S what really pissed me off. I mean, it's bad enough the my three best friends hate me, now my medical teachers hate me too? wtf?
So this sucks pretty bad. It's gonna be a really awkward rest of the year, especially sicne once the seniors graduate I'm going to be in a classroom with only four other people and my teacher. Bitch ass..... and after ALL the nice things I had done for her throughout the year. Yeah, I admit, I shouldn't have sat down in the lounge, but it's like she completely forgot that I haven't done anything to disrespect her throughout the whole year, I'm nice to all of my medical teachers, and she decides to turn them against me after three years of being such a good student.
*sigghh* such a pleasant way to end such a pleasant year.
