There are multiple run-ons (separated by commas) with an unnecessary conjunction. You could use a conjunction elsewhere, or just restructure the sentence. Also, "quarter" from "2009 quarter" is needlessly capitalized..

Or

"Apparently, the President started a new State Quarter line. I have an American Samoa 2009 quarter and it's shiny."

Or

Sometimes I think cigarette smokers are are becoming a dying breed. It's a shame.
