No, a lot of them do these days. And if there's no point, why even have the ranking system then? I usually don't even worry about it, but when I see somebody new join and fifty people jump down their throat with the community FAQ, it makes me angry because you know they wouldn't even try helping if they didn't get anything for it. And they do anyways, even though one person posted what they need, people continually post here look at the community FAQ, here look at the community FAQ, and on and on! And all of them expect DPs for doing it. And they get it, while people who actually try to improve the forum with good stuff get nothing. Sorry for my rant, I'm just not in a good mood right now.

Gotta agree with you there, it's fairly annoying to see people write an essay and half, links and all, when every single new user should have enough sense about them to check the FAQ ANYWAY. Im probably guilty of doing the same thing from time to time but on retrospect, its annoying.

We should have a "Im new" thread, for newcomers to introduce themselves, talk abit about themselves. None of this "HI IM NEW!" followed by a bunch of posts saying "COOL HEY ENJOY YOUR STAY!"

Actually, it should be named "New? Introduce yourself here!"

...And it should be stickied.

I arent making it, but if someone wants to take on board that idea, go for it.

It certainly makes newcomers feel welcome. Id suggest that it be made clear that its a place for newcomers to briefly introduce themselves and nothing more.

It also ensures that the first 2/3 pages arent littered with "Hi Im new thread" which in turn drives down the number of bumped threads.

Probably won't work. New people usually ignore that stuff.
