I find it kind of funny that some people seem to insist that the PS3 will ship under $400. Like Sony knows it's suicide to release a system for $500 or more. The fact is no one knows exactly what the price will be when it launches, even sites, or mags claiming to know. Know I'm not claiming that the system is going to cost $500+ when it ships (I seriously hope it doesn't), but if you just look at it logically with production costs, and the technology Sony is using in the system it really doesn't seem to far fetched that Sony would, or might charge $500+. Sony isn't necceserilly logical about pricing with some things. Like selling 4gb High Speed Memory Stick Pro's for $1,000!
If Sony is able to produce the PS3 at $400 or less, it really makes you wonder how cheaply made it will be seeing that Sony was able to find a way to produce a $1,000+ Blue Ray drive for under $300-$400?

A little news about the Revolution. Theres an article over at Gamespot about coments the president of Nintendo made to a Japense gaming mag. He stated that the console will be released near the end of this year for the holiday season. He alos mentioned that they feel the need to get the console to the US market before thanksgiving in order to get support from retailers, they need for the holiday season. So he stated that the console with ship first in the US sometime before thankgiving. Also mentioned is that a a working near final design of the system and controller will be on display at E3.

Looks like the Revolution is going to have similar release date to the 360.

A little (or should I say) alot of controversy has been going on in the PS3 world. It seems to be that an inside developer has spilled all the beans about the PS3. Word on the street is...there is basically no system out there....and frankly the x-box360 is better in every way...

Its quite an interesting read...believe me you will be looking inside what is going on with this guy and maybe even the PS3...alot of people take him for lagit...I will post the link in the next post... :D

Interesting I still don't think it's going to be much diffent than how the 360 came together. The system won't be in it's final form until just a few months before the system launches, just like 360. Probably the reason why the system isn't final is becuase the Cell CPU isn't even in production yet (or they may have just started).

The only thing this is going to affect is how many systems Sony can get out. Which I think is going to be substantially lower than the figures I was reading about yeterday in an article over at at Gamespot, unless Sony gets the system into production by E3. Bassically Pioneer, and another industry analyst is expecting Sony to ship 1-4 million systems by the end of 2006. As compared to the 360 shipping something like around 300,000 by the end of 2005 from it's Nov. launch date.

I never thought I'de say this, because I am clearly a Sony fanboy...but if the PS3 somehow flops...or isn't even put out to the market...or quite frankly doesn't perform graphically as well as the 360, then I will definetly get the 360.

I mean common let's level with each other here....who cares what console you get..it basically comes down to playing awsome games for a long time...

In other news, evidentally for all you Dead or Alive fans out there, there was a press release stating the game might come to a future PS3 near you...

Furthermore, the price speculating on the PS3 continues, with some saying that it could be launched at $500s. Again this is purely speculation as the Sony excecutives have said, and we shall wiat and see what the real price is..and when it will be launched in you're regional area respectively.

As for the Dead or Alive rumor, I really hope it comes true...its one of the few fighters that I haven't played...and it looks pretty decent from gameplay videos on the net...

As for the DOA rumor. I think this stems from the Tecmo announcement that they would develope games for the PS3. Nothing inpaticular. I think people have made the assumption, because when Itagaki decided to take DOA exclusivly on the Xbox he stated he only wanted to work on the best, most powerful system, and not have to comprimise. Plenty of people are under the assumption that the PS3 will be more powerful than the 360 so I think thats where it's comming from. Putting 2 + 2 together.

I'm not exactly sure if Itagaki would take it to the PS3 though. I think he made some coment a few months back somewhere about how he preffers the 360 because it's easier to develope for. So I'm not exactly sure if he would go and develope for the Ps3, or if it would be nothing more than a port of the 360 version, with not really takeing much advantage of the PS3.

Just because the PS3 is supposedly more powerful, doesn't mean it would turn out better either. Just look at the way DOA:Hardcore turned out, compared to DOA2 for the Dreamcast. It had some funky way of processing the graphics which made them look worse than the Dreamcast.

I've heard about this. There has been talk for a while about MS getting into the handheld gaming market. they where going to put their support behind the Gizmondo handheald since it uses a version of windows. But the company that is making it, it's european branck just filed for bankrupcy earlier this week or last week.

A true portable Xbox would be kick ass, but it seams really not feasable with all the short cuts. They'd have to cut out the hard dirve and everything. On a note I think a handheld system designed around a moderatly priced PC CPU would be really kick ass and give the PSP a run for it's money if it was done well. It would also need dual analog sticks for FPS.
I mean a handheld gaming system similar to the PSP with a 400-500mhz CPU, and 50-100mbs of onboard memory would be pretty kick ass. I just don't want game disks like the PSP becuase I hate the casing. If you get some sand of something in it, kiss the disk goodby because it will get totally ruined. Maybe somekind of similar disk format like the PSP but dual layer for 4gbs of disk space and not in the casing.

Melee Revolution (I am not sure if that's the right title but I hope you get the picture ) is true. I can't wait for it to come out!

And I think I may skip the future consoles until they become affordable. Like 200 dollars... in that bracket. Nothing I've seen or heard so far compels me to want to shell out big money. Especially for the first round of consoles. The ones that could come with defects and bugs and stuff. So yeah.

While it is your opinion (which I respect, btw), you should know that Nintendo is banking on the answer to your question being "Everyone." They figure that non-gamers look at a videogame control and get somewhat intimidated, but if they saw a remote control (a device they use on a daily basis), they might be willing to try it out since they're so comfortable with the design.
