As long as they aren't letting on it's made by Midway in any official capacity and they acknowledge copyrights and post disclaimers with it when it's made, there's nothing really wrong with it.

Charging anything though, even if it's to only cover bandwidth, is illegal.

Ever hear of a program called M.U.G.E.N.? It lets you create your own fighting game and many MK Characters are adapted to that to use in "dream matches" like MK versus Street Fighter and more.

I had considered doing a few hand drawn custom sprites up for a 2D MK M.U.G.E.N. conversion for fun once, but time constraints keep that from happening.

Look. Midway just took out a five year loan because they are loosing money.

There is nothing illegal with this game. It's a simple fangame, and nothing more. People do it all the time; go look at Mark Overmars' Game Maker site or something and see some prime examples.

dud he cannot get in trouble for this at all, he said its not for money, just making it for fun. Thats like saying i cant make animations because i would be contributing to midwyas downfall, i mean come on be real. Anyways, the game looks SoOoO cool, i love the graphics. Surely the name 'Mortal Kombat' is a Trademark to Midway and is patented for them only.

As well as character names Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Subzero etc... they're all trademarks of Midway Amusements and cannot be used commercially without consent from Midway.

I like the look of this game, but I can see too many problems if it becomes available.

IT'S NOT ILLEGAL.If Mortal Kombat Zero is illegal then so are all the fake pics in the fanart section because they use Mortal Kombat characters which are trademarked by Midway.He said he's not in it for the money so he cant get in trouble
