Sadly, the only way he'll even be included in a future game is if Marvel fans (who know just who the hell he is and what he's done) voiced their opinions en masse. And the odds of that happening are the same as a movie based from a video game winning an Oscar for Best Film.

For a 2D fighting game, this game can't get enough boobs.

I think reason Super Skrull made it into the game was because
a) he can use all of the Fantastic 4's powers, thus eliminating the need to use memory for 4 more characters
and b) because the Skrulls were in a major storyline in Marvel comics fairly recently, the Secret Invasion. Has Sinister done anything lately? Haven't really read comics in a while so idk.

Not that it's unfair. He had his day in the sun, but what's he done for us lately? Nevermind the fact that the X-Men are about as relevant as a video game film at the Oscars, these days. If we're gonna have cult characters show up, there's a long list of better options! *grumble grumble*
Super-Skrull's arguably only getting his time in the sun, thanks to those kinds of weird cross-media obsessions fading out. 'Bout darn time!

That's ridiculous, Super Skrull isn't a replacement for the Fantastic 4. Ask any fan who likes the fantastic 4 (2 people in the world?) if having super skrull instead of Sue, Reed, Johnny and Ben does the trick.

You can't get too creative with a lot of their movesets anyway. Thing would be pretty similar to Hulk, Johnny would get generic fireblast powers, Reed would just be terrible, and Sue's powers are far from offensive. Super Skrull takes enough fo their abilities that you don't have to overthink it and still manage to be able to sue the powers

I wouldn't say that. If you think about it, Wolverine's fighting abilities are rather narrow on the surface, but look at what Capcom did for him. I think Reed would be a similar situation, and truthfully, I think he has more move potential given his range and flexibility.
Nonetheless, I'm glad we got this Skrull cat instead. I know nothing about him, but something about the guy just strikes a positive chord with me. He's a nice balance of silly, sleek, and colorful, at least from a design standpoint. I certainly prefer him over the generic tidal wave that is X-23. If you took away her claws, her design would fit into any action film, comic, or anime from the last ten years.

Personaly, I'm kinda weirdly cool with it. I mean... Super-Skrull is a pretty awesome stand-in, if a stand-in is all we're gonna get!

Seriously?... Why can't you get creative?
Thing might be the trickiest to individualize, if the conventional burly bruiser moveset is limited to the same basic attacks. The rest all have pretty broad and unique potential. Invisible Woman's powers are far from offensive? They've dedicated entire issues to disproving that periodically since the sixties...! Without Dhalsim, Mr. Fantastic had a place, and accusing Human Torch's flame attacks of being generic is basically complaining about half the cast, with a bit of argon or xenon thrown in for colour!
Fair enough that they didn't want to occupy four slots with one brand, and fair enough that they used an all-in-one supremo package that's been rarely used in video games, but c'mon... That doesn't mean the original foursome aren't completely viable.

strike what I said. I was thinking more in terms of Thing and Mr. Fantastic being pallet swaps of Hulk / Dhalsim respectively. Human Torch and Invisible Woman might be cool. so I only agree with that 50%

Woo! The US is finally getting some decent box art.

Henaki, the guy who leaked the SSF4 roster and the MvC3 announcement, said that there will be 40+ characters and no characters will be from Sengoku Basara. Also, he stated he is officially retiring the leaking business :(

To be fair; even Mr. Fantastic has more going for him than just extendo-limbs. He's got a lot of trademark attacks that Dhalsim doesn't do, like the bouncing ball, mallet fists, or a smothering attack. There's a lot they could do to separate the two, not that they really need to, given that it doesn't seem at all likely that Dhalsim's in the game. Give him a unique quality to his extended punch and kick, something that's more elastic/rubbery than Dhalsim, and you've got a lot of other stuff to go with.
Thing's definitely trickier, though.
It'd be great to do the comics dream match of Thing/Hulk, but obviously they don't have a lot in the way of unique attacks between them. It'd be a matter of presentation, which, to be fair, Capcom could probably pull off if they really wanted. I mean, Juggernaut worked alright opposite Hulk.
Would've been cool to see them put that effort in to finally do the FF.
They were probably the glaring omission from the original games, alongside all those other characters with successful cartoon shows of the time. Still, if it's not gonna happen, Super-Skrull is a pretty cool substitution!

I was a sad panda myself since I wanted Date to be in, though this is still a rumor. Unfortunately, it is coming from the Capcom leak god so there is a good chance it may be true.
