And taking a stand.
They won't ever be chopped down,
By a human hand.
For millions of years,
They lived in peace,
But with the creation of humans,
Their reign had to cease.
First they were weapons,
Then they were huts.
Then to warm things,
Thanks to fire from a putz.
But today, they had enough,
And refuse their ill-treatment.
They uprooted themselves
Without impediment.
They marched through the streets,
Brought traffic to a halt.
They wanted to find governments,
And tell them they were at fault.
Men took the lives
Of thousands of trees
And they couldn't stand it,
And became enemies.
Tonight, they stand in front of men,
To let them hear their case.
The trees have to explain to them
That they're a dying race.
"Humans," said a representative,
Of this fine race.
"We come to end the murders,
Not slow down the pace!
"You take our children,
Turn them to furniture.
But we cannot stand for this,
And won't let it go further.
"They are our future,
Our genetic pride.
To continue our species,
They need to survive!
"We come in peace,
To propose a truce,
We're not here to fight,
Nor throw on the noose."
But man laughed at these people,
Of thick trunk and leaf.
The meeting was already lost,
Though not meant to be brief.
"We need your bodies
To build our homes.
We have no substitutes,
Except for rocks and bones.
"Rocks are unflinching,
And difficult to shape.
A bad slip with the chisel,
And it'll break.
"We've grown beyond the time,
Skeletons just won't hold.
Just take it as your fate,
Just as God had told."
The trees were infuriated
By what they had heard.
Who was this "God",
That man had preferred?
The trees swore vengeance,
For all their people,
And one climbed atop
A church's high steeple.
"My friends," it yelled,
"My fellow trees!
The humans ignored us,
So we'll bring them to their knees!"
The trees all grew tall,
And seethed with might.
The humans were surprised,
And in a terrible fright.
Looming over houses,
Mourning their friends.
The trees began to move,
And started a trend.
All forests took a stand,
To fight for their lives.
Humans fought back,
With bloody drives.
But the trees were old,
And very wise.
With considerable skill,
And massive size.
They gave the people no chance,
To mount a front.
Other plants caught them by surprise,
What a wonderful stunt!
The grasses, the weeds,
As well as flower-beds,
Held onto captives,
As trees bashed human heads!
With their bodies sprawled,
All over floors,
The trees proceeded to cleanse the land,
By breaking down doors.
Rounding up survivors,
Driving them from the lands.
Forcing them to the deserts,
To the harsh, hot sand.
Nature'll take back the land,
Return it to the former glory.
This is the end of man,
But the plant's beginning story.

And suddenly it's not so bad,
Not with what we had.

Bringing chaos in her wake:
Like everything, she's a mistake.
What to do?
Should I trust you?
After all you did to me,
How could I be happy?
But I took the burn,
A life lesson learned,
And now I can't despair;
I don't even care.
It's just another shame;
What a waste of a name.
Playin' the game,
But it's all the same.
HIt for hit, bit by bit,
Conflicted fit, hardly legit,
Backwoods wit; all you smit,
Down to the pit, gettin' all you can get.
Out of place, face-to-face,
What I tried to chase, too fast of pace,
Gone, without a trace, lost in the race;
I feel your embrace, such grace,
Enough to erase my disgrace,
As is the case, no longer misplaced.
I'll pull through, do it all for you,
But you already knew, didn't you,
How true were the things I tried to do?
It's so new, the heart that grew,

Too weak for the weight, an inherent trait,
