Well the title says it all but I'm actually getting a tattoo in a few minutes I'm nervous for some reason.

I think some of them look cool but, I'm artistic. For me that just means I'll always want to manipulate them.... over and over perpetually. Wouldn't be a "good look" for me.

I've got two and I'd love more. Hell sure my body's gonna change anyway, I may as well have it look the way I want it to while I'm still young lol

I was also scared to do mine. Even halfway through it I'm thinking this is pretty much permeant. But after doing it, it's really not that bad. You just have to find a good tattoo artist luckily one of my cousins is one. And I think mine looks pretty good.
The worst part of a tattoo is right before you get it but it's pretty awesome once you get it.

In the thrash metal community, I enjoy seeing people who have album covers or something tattooed on them, reminds me I should listen to that album more often. I've also seen a few nice Mortal Kombat and Zelda tattoos.
Not a big fan of them to be put on my body, however some are cool to look at. People who have sleeves with different images on them look really cool and I've even seen tattoos with piercings included in the art. It's a great conversation starter too, everyone that I have come across loves to explain what their tattoo means to them and how they went about and got them.
I love tattoo's
I have wanted a Sub-Zero Tat since FOREVER
But like Pred said... im too artistic (in my head anyway I suck at art) and I would never be happy with what ive got and always want to manipulate it once I got it.

Just make sure you check the spelling before you get a tat. I saw a woman with "beleive" tattooed in huge letters on her arm. I "beleive" she needed a dictionary.

And if you get any characters that are asian make sure you know what the fuck they mean. Even if you do, be prepared to have an assload of people telling you it doesn't mean what you think it means and asking if you are sure it means what you think it means.
My first tat inside right forearm is the Japanese word Gaijin. I got it as a joke on purpose. The joke being: If you can read it you already know I'm not from around there -a "well duh!" type of joke-. I actually took the time to study for a number of months so that I didn't fuck up on the joke. And when an exchange student asked me if I knew what I meant I went so far as to explain what the characters literally individually represent and then what they meant collectively. I then said I got it on purpose and it was a joke. At which point (when he knew the crazy american did it on purpose for the sake of comedy) he laughed! THE REACTION I WANTED! OMG!
A couple years later, I had some white guy trying to explain to me that it's not what I think it means with some level of condescending attitude. One problem: I WROTE IT MYSELF!
So, yeah. You'll get a LOT of that from white people. Too much of this "Exit only" "Gay bar hangout" type of snopes crap floating around that people 1) Assume I'm white. 2) Assume because it is asian it is chinese. 3) Assume I must have got something embarrassing on accident.
So, if you don't want that headache, skip to something a little more modern.
Final note: Don't get tribal tats. You either look like a douchebag or a skinhead.

When you're 65, *every part of your body* will have gone to shit, not just the tattoo. I haven't known a single person who wants theirs gone after getting older.
I myself have two, and I haven't regretted them at all (though it will be a pain to cover them up in Japanese Onsen, I can totally deal with that)
I wanted one for the longest time and I really wanted to get a tramp stamp. Up until recently, I realized that they're really a waste of time and money to get.
Yeah, where I would want one, it would only show if I'm wearing some sort of two-piece or a shirt that shows my belly. But then again, why would I want to get something that i can only show when it's summer time?
I would rather save up the money I'm making right now to get a car on my own. I'm not saying that tattoos are a pointless thing to get, I just don't want to spend too much of my money on something I'll probably regret later on.
Plus, I don't think I'll be able to tolerate the pain anyways.
