I'm a late bloomer and just found out about this atrocity of a game and all I have to say is NO! What the FUCK?!! Why not just create a whole new original MK Game with it's own storyline? They obviously ran out of ideas. As an obsessive, devoted MK junkie, I'm thouroughly dissappointed in this shit and dispite the fact that I may purchase it, I will never approve of this game. MK is too epic and original to combine it with any other franchise (Even DC superheroes as badass as they are) in my opinion. Oh well, I will try to have an open mind.

I still hate this game . I just hate the whole concept of this game , and not only that , the worst part is the people who flame on those who dislike the game . Most people that try to have an argument with a person that doesn't like the idea of the game usually always trys to change the subject and say " You didn't even play the damn game yet " . Well you know what we didn't , and people who don't like it didn't say that the gameplay would be bad either , did we ? The way most people said like me are just saying that the whole idea is bad , and could of been much improved , and some of yall are trying to flame us and make us feel bad to dislike DC and tell us some complaint on gameplay bs ? They really need to stop spitting out words , and think . This game maybe good , yet some of us aren't satisfied that DC is coming in , when we could of gotten a new MK game in a totally new feel ( Which how I thought it felt like with all the noob.com hype ) , which I would like more .

Well, about 4 months ago, I posted something that basically said, things that MK need for a revival.

Well, Guess that won't happen. I don't care about MK vs. DC as a concept. It is business and businesses will do everything to make a buck (or Make more bucks). Capcom did it with Marvel, and Capcom's old nemesis did it with DC.

What I don't like is the fact that MK hasn't had a descent game since UMK3, all the ones afterwards suck. 3D was a horrible idea, because if you go 3D you need to understand 3D movement and the requirements for a great 3D game. Midway has never been able to perfect 3D MKs. For one, gameplay, if you want to have a lot of fighitng style see how Virtua Fighter handles the shaolin monk character, see how everything flows smoothly. You know what, I'm not even go there, I'm too tired and it is too early to go into specific things several other game does to succeed. I'll just say this.

Mortal Kombat, the 3D version, but to some extent all version, is Stiff as a board, it just doesn't flow. the second complaint is a true rock paper scissors fighting gameplay with good frame data, reversal/parry or other similar defensive techniques. not just an abbitratry(spelling?) combo breaker button, which you can only use 3 times.

I for one think that they should have kept it 2D or at least Return to 2D when the 3D experiment failed. Oh well, I guess Soul Calibur 4, and SF4 will have to do until VF5 evo comes out.

Motal Kombat has NEVER been a solid technical fighting game, MK games have always catered to the casual gamer. They tried keeping the game 2D (with 3D models) with MK4 and that game was arguably the worst game in the series. UMK3's only saving grace was that it was balanced, but the fighting mechanics still sucked. 3D isn't the problem, The MK team doesn't have a clue when it comes to fighting games in general thats the problem . I wanted MK Vs DCU wow me, but from the gameplay Ive seen, the game slipped from a buy to a rental. While its obvious the gameplay is different, they STILL recycled animations from the last gen.....shame on you Midway.

To me it seems like MK team is trying to cover up their lazyness with all of these gimmicks in the end all we want is great gameplay and we haven't gotten it. Gameplay wise I rather play Tekken 5 or SC 3 then any of the 3D MK games. There's nothing about these last few games that makes me want to go back.

I'm tired of people online, and everywhere complaining about how lame MK vs. DC is. This game will be a pretty big November release, and will possibly create more Mortal Kombat fans, or at the very least give the next MK game a huge hype. From what I've seen the gameplay looks fun, and the graphics are great...

This game isn't even out, and the roster isn't even officially announced and people are complaining about everything imaginable. The roster looks great so far, and is appropriate.

Anyways I'm just tired of the bitching.

Fans will always bitch. People say that we should just accept it, well you should be prepared for the major bitchfest along with this type of game. As one of the people bitching I must say that the game looks alright gameplay wise but the whole Free Fall and Klose Kombat looks a little boring. Kinda seems to slow the game down. Graphics could be better. It doesn't look like it's pushing the Unreal engine. I'm not saying they're bad, just that they should be better than they are

Then you should like this version, since they're trying to get back to the first three games roots. Like the interviews and the video show, the game is in 3D but plays like a 2D fighter.

I couldn't stand the most recent games, with the complicated fighting styles and pre-built combos you had to memorize. I miss being able to come up with my own combos like in MK2, trying to figure out how to get in one more hit or juggle.

It looks like they've done that, and I will definitely buy it even if the rest of the characters yet to be revealed are all Stryker.

To the people who argue about how can character X beat character Y...

Do you realize that these are FUCKING FICTIONAL characters?! The keyword here is: fictional.

It means anything and everything can be done to them at the writers' will. What it does not mean is that you will always like how these characters change or how their encounters with any other fictional character will conclude.

It means that Batman could defeat Superman if someone from DC decides that he should.

Stop trying to apply logic to fiction. Unless you are 10 years old.

i agree with MannyFresh u will be able to have great fatalities this game didn't need dc just make new mk charaters and originals and u might have what some of us wanted

The fatalities so far look kinda boring and not cool. "great" is hardly the word I'd suggest. Maybe they'll find a way to make them better, but so far I'm doubting it. I wish that this had been a game without DC, hopefully the next one will be pure MK.

I'd just like to say that I completely agree with hjs-Q. It is absolutely absurd to confine all negative opinions to one thread. I understand the importance of keeping the forums nice and tidy, but when we're wanting to discuss particular gameplay features which we're unhappy with and we're essentially herded into a little back room where we can't be seen or heard, as if what we have to say is unimportant, that's bad. Really, really bad. For everyone. I mean some great, constructive, intelligent discussion about the actual PLAYING of the game could have come from the thread hjs-Q started. And God knows that's what's needed in this community.

This thread was created to deal with the massive wave of whiny bullshit about how much the crossover sucked when the game was announced. Please don't use it as a quick fix to clean up every thread founded on a negative opinion, criticism is not always worthless.

what im mad about is this why cant we start off where we left off from dc doesnt belong in the franchise think about it without dc in this game i dont care about gore or blood.u could've had the graphics combos great fatalities without having dc in it

I think this game will kickass. Yeah its pretty much random and shit, they know what they are doing though im sure. I've been with em for a long time and just cause they think its time to clean the slate doesn't mean their sale outs. I'm done with that plan. Although i had pictured the running through building alot DIFFERENT. Rooms were pretty empty. I figured it would have been the size of a regular office with a bunch of stuff in there flying and breaking all over the place while ramming through. Very detailed i was hoping it to be.
