1.- Sonya Blade

The one and only: The original female of Mk. The tough blond chick with the deadly attitude, sarcastic vibe, and killer personality that will just take no sh** from anyone.

Remember, she has: “FULL AUTHORITY!!!” in the realms of Mk.

I love it how she has always been present in every game in one way or the other, and has always been improved with amazing special moves, fatalities and awesome looks. She remains a classic and an awesome character! Sonya has proved to be among the best and primary/prominent characters of the storyline of our beloved game, with a great and nicely elaborated story that ties her with plenty of other characters and the plot.

Sonya Blade is the perfect image of females who kick ass and don’t need to dress in slutty swimsuits to look hot, sexy and rock. By far, she is probably the only female who dresses with decency and still looks hot while kicking butt. She rocks!

2.- Sindel

How not to love this fantastic goth-like-witch? With the entire supernatural aura around her, Sindel manages to easily stand out and impress with not only her fantastic special moves and fatalities, but also with her amazing look. A Goth Witch killer Queen. Just perfect! Sindel has everything to be among the top babes of Mk.

2.- Mileena

Tied with Sindel. One of the most original characters with one of the deepest and most intriguing storylines. Her sensuality is only matched by her wickedness. She is a psycho, she is crazy, she is hungry for power, thirsty for blood, and she herself has proved to have a high self-esteem by loving her wonderful and sexy wicked deformed teeth. Mileena, the clone, is just fantastic!

The sweet psycho bitch of Mk! How not to love this crazy and wicked scary character?

She sure is. Kerri is one of the hottest females ever. And its Elizabeth Malecki (I think I misspelled that too, lol).

Also, Sonya’s amazing and sexy Mk4 model was obviously inspired in Bridgette Wilson, that woman is simply: beautiful, very beautiful with those sexy dramatic eyes and eyebrows. And her best sexy and toughest looks ever (MKDA, MKD, MKSM, MKA) with the shorter hair have obviously a spark of Sandra Hess (another beautiful and sexy woman).

Sonya is practically the babe! But hey, Im guessing this is not a discussion about just looks, but everything else as well.

1- Kitana
Best storyline, complex character, cool weapons & moves, and (IMO)best looking. Total package.

2- Sareena
The scored in big way with Sareena. They set her up nicely as an interesting and conflicted character and she has cool moves. She can go far. And goth chicks rule.

3- Mileena
Good storyline and gameplay and what always struck me most about Mileena is the tragedy of her character. one of the few MK villains one can actually sympathise with.

4- Jade
Jade's cool, but I must admit I'm losing interest in her quickly. She desperately needs to develope into her own character.

5- Tanya
Underrated character, IMO. Unlike Mileena, who can be seen as a somewhat sympathetic character, Tanya has no redeeming qualities and no excuses for being the way she is. The real mega-bitch of Mortal Kombat.

6- Ashrah
Has a distinct look amongst the other females which I like and what I like most about her his overzealousness. I look forward to a future feud with Sareena.

7- Nitara
I like how she's a methodical character and morally ambiguous. I just wish they'd improve her gameplay a bit.

8- Sindel
I like Sindel's backstory and look. I also like the dichotomy of Sindel being a "good guy" while also looking like a crazy evil witch. And I like her role as Kitana's protective mother. However, this has also limited her greatly in the story. Zha Chuan also sucks.

9- Li Mei
Hated her in MK:DA, but in Deception she improved in every way. They gave her a good story and improved her gameplay. If they keep her aorund, she's an up-and-comer in my book.

10- Frost
Frost is good despite being a rather simplistic idea. She seems like an interesting character and I like the contrast between her and Sareena.

11- Kira
She has potential and I can see her moving up. I like her look and I like using her Armageddon. I'd like to see where she goes.

12- Khameleon
Bullshit she doesn't count because she's not "human." Mileena's not human; she's a half-Tarkatan clone. Nitara's a Vampire. Sareena and Ashrah are Demons. Anyway....I feel bad for Khameleon. She had/has a decent story....but she's been screwed over in every other way. She should've gotten a REAL revamp in Armageddon. Ah well....the one I made in K-a-K is bad ass though.

13- Sonya Blade
Never into Sonya. Just another dime-a-dozen "tough chick" I can find in countless other movies, comics, and video games. Nothing to make her stand out for me at all. And I though Kerri Hoskins was better as Kia.

14- Sheeva
Not that I hate Sheeva....I just have no real reason to like her. Aside from being the only female one that we've seen...why should I like her anymore than Goro and Kintaro? Kintaro's my Shokan of choice.

Hot and tough (personality-wise and fighting-wise) are my flat-out favorite traits in the female lead of anything, whether it be movies, video games, whatever. Sonya incorporates both of these better than any other female character in Mortal Kombat (not to mention, she's the only blond chic ^_^ and the only chosen female fighter of Earth). She just stands out from all the other femmes with how different she is from everyone else. No other girlie is as sexy, amazingly tough, and just brims with superiority as Sonya. Her kiss move is also vurry vurry hawt.

2. Mileena
If a girl is gonna be a villain, she has to have going for her what Mileena has going for her. Mileena's a crazy, power-hungry bitch who's into slaughtering anyone who stands in her way, and I admire that a lot. She also has the whole 'under-the-veil' mystery that gives her a definite edge and makes her unique among all the other villainesses (is that a word?). She's deceptively enthralling, but a bloodthirsty freak deep down.

Those are always my top 2. The others change positions a lot, so I'll just go with how I view them today.

3. Tanya
Backstabbing ho all the way. You can't help but love a bitch who's gonna betray her entire home world just to be well off. More power to ya, Tanya.

4. Kitana
What I like about Kitana is how courageous she is when it comes to Edenia and clashing with Shao Khan. She's a little too nice for me sometimes, but I still have love for her.

That's all for now. Worthy mentions include Jade, Sindel, Frost, and I guess Kira even though she stole my girl's moves (personality and look-wise, I like her).

Ok the first three mk gals that popped in my mind were of course Sonya Blade, Kitana and Mileena. Not because they were the best but because they are the most recognizable. If one just mentions one of these three names almost anyone instantly thinks Mortal Kombat. But this does not mean they are the top three MK Females overall would be Sonya Blade, Ashra and Mileena.

1. Sonya Blade: In spite not having the centuries of training, actual combat experience and/or special abilites that most of the other female fighters seem to have she is more than able to handle her own. Her only real weakness is her obsessive behavior. I would say she needs a trip to the VA shrinks but I don't think I don't want any of them killed.

2. Ashra: A demon that seeks to become a angel, and seems to have that goal in sight. Unfortunately, I believe she is blinded by the light of that sword. The whole 'cleansing' story has a hint that there is something more about that sword than what has been told so far. A soul-eating blade? Anyways, this is about Ashra not her sword. She is most likely the strongest, mystically speaking female in the game series. But like Sonya she is blinded by her personal goals.

3. Mileena: The sister, the clone, the betrayed and betrayer. The lovely bit a eye candy for the boys but with a bite that kills. In a way, she has the saddest story of the whole series. Created as 'replacement'...a defective copy of Kitana. Who then was thrown away once her usefulness came to an end.

Sindel gots the look and moves. Fun and explosive powers are just the best. A witchy goth-goddess appearance with a long-haired Bride of Frankenstein/skunk hairdo is simply unforgettable. She reeks power and grace.

Jade gots the look (ninja costume, mainly) and personality. Plus her amazing Vanishing Winds move made me gasp the first time I tried it and I still love it.

And Sonya has the personality and moves. The leg grab is an utter classic, her Kiss of Death fatalities have been some of the best fatalities in history, and her personality is the most lovable and admirable of all the females, imo. Her brisk, white girl, military chick look was best in MK3.

I gotta agree. But mine are in different order, and for slightly different reasons.

1. Sonya: A WOMAN, in the special forces?!? To me it was unheard of. There is SO much training, and SO much shit you have to go through in order to be a part of that unit. It's incalculable, let alone super rare for a woman to actually get to, and eventually lead. A feat just to be associated with the title.

For me, simply listing her as a "tough chick" doesn't do justice to her title. But, then again, neither does the mis-representation they did with her for the SF. But, again, the fact that she had the oddly mystical ring throw, and that springy//weird//jumpy scissor grab move set the exact-ness of the title off just enough to make sense for Mk1-T. And at the same time, it was all just so "feminine". lol

It seemed like a woman with skill could actually do something like that. Like she should be able do things like that in a fighting video game. It was believable that, even though she wore the spandex, that she could handle high-end weaponry if she wanted to//had to.

The kiss of death fatality was SO perfect. The way the fireball oddly hovered around in the air, and then flew down to set the opponent to flames gave the perfect touch of "You Spiteful Bitch!". lol!

To me, it looked like she wasn't gonna hurt you even though she won the fight. Like that "puny little fireball" would get caught in the wind, and fly away or something at first.....but in fact, and even in my own personal experience, that's not the nature of a woman who has seen terrible things. A women with confidence and skill WILL "burn you to hell"(so to speak).

She embodied: "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Because she was skilled, because she was United States Special Forces.....Especially if you actually fight with, and hit the bitch(I mean "muthafucka"). hahaha!

For her look:

The spandex and headband was hot in Mk1-T...but it was respectful at the same time. It was provocative because it wasn't so revealing.


I loved her rendered look in Mk4, I just hated that game. It was still provocative, and respectful. But moreso, it showed her rank and stature. It showed that she was actually a USSF agent of some sort.


I thought her MkDa-A primary was just o.k. My biggest problem with it is that she looks older. It gives off the vibe that she's up in age, and might be going for good sometime soon.

I don't think the thong thing, compliments her at all. (sry Leo) I just always thought that the way military women (in real life) wear their uniforms was attractive enough, even though that is never what it's supposed to be(It's only necessity, or "what you absolutely need.).

Lol, The whole "woman in uniform thing is enough for me. Has to do with trying to bring formality to a womans curves or something....really can't describe that. But I think it's already enough without purposely trying to make it obvious that's she's fit. We get that attribute from almost every other kind of female character in video games. The whole thong thing, is kinda like a woman with a well defined six pack. It's like....ew

2. Sindel: Actually, pretty much the same as you QS(tb). Undead women were, up until lately, a pretty rare thing to see in any media. Add some spandex and sonic powers and there you go.

She's like a cat, or moreso, a tigress in purple, black, and white. I didn't make the connection to the Frankenstein, but it wasn't far off. She more registered for her bold powers, and bold colors scheme.

Scratching and screaming as her powers - again, made sense for a woman to do in a video game. It made sense that if she was dead, and was thousands of years old before death, that her eyes should be whited out, or that she should be able to fly and spit fireballs. She logically flowed throughout. Combos were fluid, and made sense to look like they did....and to have the effects that they did.



I mean, just look at that. lol Aside from some riffs in her storyline, she's perfect. *shrugs*



The make over was fitting too. All the way around, looks, moves..everything was sensible. Well, she should have had her flight in the latest games too, but still. She was sexy too....I guess. In a weird sort of "I'm a dead lady" kinda way. haha

3. Jade: She was the perfect secret character. Green is an intriguing color to begin with. Let alone the odd choice to make her weapons glow neon pink. Together, that combination spelled "caution" or "investigate with caution".

She's still in that place to me because she's not the girl you see right up front when you think of the "MK Women". You still have to kinda "find out about her". She was dark and mysterious, and we still don't know alot about her personal stuff. Good.



"Wow, that's what she looks like up close", is the impression I always got. I think I liked the green and black better than the blue or purple of Kitana or Mileena too though.

I didn't get "sexy" from her, even though the outfit didn't hurt a thing, and I think she should always dress provocatively. Adds to the intrigue. As far as her interpretations overall, I think she should always be portrayed as a "person of color". Like an Asian or some iteration of a light skinned person. Not all the way African American, not Caucasian, I'm not exactly sure that Latin would fit either. Mainly because I get "spicy", or "fire"(so to speak) from them.

A couple others that I think are well worth mentioning.......

1. Nitara: Tremendous potential. Overwhelming potential actually. There's so much you can do with a vampire. Well, there's one very good way, but that's for another time I guess.

If the MK Team puts enough into her we could be looking at the first well worthy female boss character. Imagine how super powerful all the iterations of Dracula are. How fuck-in scary he's suppose to be in raw form. How sociable, nice, and convincing he's supposed to be in human form. Now, turn that into a female, and a Mortal Kombat character....

2. Sareena: She has tremendous potential as well. And I think she could adequately replace Sindel. they share a few qualities, and without knowing better, the two could be confused for a Mother//Daughter relationship.

Demons have a fantastic amount of potential on their own too. I might like to see her as our first true master of Necomancy....might. Even though it's an odd way to take her at this point imo.

- A story of redemption from her dark past, and is constantly haunted by it. May look sweet, but can tear you a new one. Thousands of years training as an assassin. Bitter personal history with Shao Kahn.

- A solid connection to almost everyone linked to the netherrealm. She’s conflicted and it shows. Her natural state is an evil demon, but she’s striving to change.

Frost: 9/10
- Could’ve had it all, was practically being trained to become the next Sub-Zero. But she wanted it too fast and tried to seize it too quickly. Now she has a bitter hatred for Sub-Zero, believing he is the cause of all of her problems. Which could’ve lead her to a connection of Noob Saibot or Sareena.

The Others
Ashrah: 7/10
- I’m curious what would happen if she were to go overboard, what she would turn into. A being of pure light?

Nitara: 7/10
- Manipulative and secretive, plus there appears to be more than is revealed (knew about Reptile’s race and maybe extinction).

Sindel: 7/10
- I liked her more in the early games, basically was the MK3 story. Not bad nowadays, but if she were to return, I’d like to see something very different happen.

Jade: 6/10
- Pretty cool, Edenia’s enforcer. But she often gets overridden.

Li Mei: 5/10
- I like that she’s conflicted because of the dead solider, but nothing is really happening with it.

Tanya: 5/10
- Possibly one of the most evil, and very much a coward. Will sell out whoever she’s with to avoid death.

Kira: 3/10
- Not bad, but for now her story is too similar to Kabal and Kobra. The spread of anarchy. Needs to separate herself.

Sheeva: 2/10
- Too similar to the other shokan. Plus I believe she’s still dead and was never resurrected in MKA, since her only appearance since MK3 is in the netherrealm.

Khameleon: 1/10
- Not so much her as it ruins what I’ve pictured for Reptile. As much as I like Reptile, he shouldn’t get a happy ending. He’s been an evil sadistic killing machine and now there’s a possibility he’s going to become daddy Reptile. Where’s the karma?

Mileena: 0/10
- An unstable botched clone with a lot of mental problems. Wrap her in a straight jacket and throw her in an insane asylum.

Sonya: 0/10
- The words possessive, suffocating and insecure come to mind.
