Reptile's been my second favorite ever since Deadly Alliance (I've always been partial to lizards and I have a pet iguanna which adds more bias.). Though I love his reptillian look, was awesome with him in DA, loved his Crab stance, and felt he had a very sympathetic storyline, I know for a fact that he doesn't stand a chance against Ermac (My fifth or sixth favorite).

As far as I can tell, Ermac really did beat the crap out of all of Earthrealm's/Edenia's greatest warriors when he helped Liu Kang free them from Onaga's control, all at the same time no less. So not only did Ermac do something that SOUNDS like it would make him good, he even one-upped something Reptile tried to do. Reptile alone couldn't take Kitanna and Jade, several people shorter than what Ermac accomplished. Additionally, Reptile knows, at best, 3 fighting styles to my knowledge (Hung Gar, Crab, and that one he has in Armageddon) whereas Ermac, if you paid attention to the text messages he gave you when you trained with him in Deception's Konquest, knows hundreds, maybe even thousands, of fighting styles and has all the power of Outworld's greatest deceased warriors which is then amplified with his gem. Then, as if all of that wasn't enough, I'd say his axe is more powerful than Reptile's Kirehashi and, most importantly, he has telekinesis. Though I died a lot more fighting Reptile in Shaolin Monks, that might only be because I had a smaller lifebar by such and early boss. Ermac almost killed me both times I ever fought him (Once as both monks.) despite how big my lifebar got by the time I reached him. Of course, gameplay doesn't account for anything in a situation like this. After all, I'd say that MK3 Shao Kahn is the hardest boss ever to grace the MK series but Onaga was a bit more powerful than him and I beat him with less difficulty.

technically only tsung could stop him, by absorbing all 1000's of ermac's souls, then granting tsung immortality, but tsung would have to gain the upper hand first and i'd doubt that would happen

The gods could also, Fujin, Raiden, Shinnok and I also believe Quan-Chi as well.

These guys have more power then Ermac overall.

The way I see it, Ermac is on the tier just below top tier if he isn't at the bottom of top tier's list. The following are the only characters that I think could defeat Ermac:

-Shao Kahn
-Onaga
-Shinnok
-Quan Chi
-Liu Kang (not easily)
-Kung Lao (more effort than Liu)
-Shang Tsung (maybe more of a tie than anything)
-Raiden
-Fujin (perhaps with as much effort as Liu or Kung)
-Blaze (Armageddon version...if he counts at all that is)

I choose not to acknowledge his short fight with Sheeva in the Armageddon opening as that seems to go completely out of logic considering I don't think Sheeva's that good and Ermac was pretty much there just for filler. They really should have just gone with someone like Kobra or someting along those lines to pair up with Nightwolf to take advantage of Sheeva having 4 arms.

I like Reptile more, but at the moment I think Ermac would win.I actually believe Ermac is in the top 10 most powerful MK characters of them all.

That was actually Shang Tsung, reason is this.If you watch closely, Sheeva grabbed what appeared to be Ermac then when Kenshi sliced her she dropped him along with NW, however after that scene you see Ermac laying on the ground K.O.

However, when they show that view again a few moments later after Quan-Chi killed Kenshi, you see what appears to be Ermac tossing Quan-Chi off the pyramid.Thing is this, right before that shot Ermac isn't in the background laying on the ground anymore....which leaves me to believe that was actually Shang Tsung and Ermac was never near the pyramid or if he was that wasn't actually Ermac.

Watch it and you'll see what I mean.

I think Ermac can take on Shinnok, Liu and Kung rather easily and is definitely more powerful then Kang and Lao.He simply has more power then them, Shinnok I say because Cage gave him a beaten and Shinnok ran away and escaped in his portal.So, if Cage can give Shinnok a challenge then Ermac can definitely.That's what I believe.

As much as I hate to say it I think Ermac would win. But I still like Reptile more. BTW How come 3D Ermac is white but 2D Ermac is Black?

plus the fact that Ermac is a ranged fighter who can prevent his enemy from reaching him with his TK, so ermac could kill reptile from yards away, and what's reptile going to do? spit on him? and that will affect him how? if you are comprised of souls acid aint gonna do anything to you. really Reptile doesn't stand a chance

I like both characters equally, but I beleive that Ermac would come out on top in this battle.
