1. Cut Smoke+"at least some of the smoke" out of this one...

2. Cut the bottom Sub-Zero out of this one. The other two I would've loved to have...so if one of you guys feel up to it, experiment with those. They could make some cool avatars or something....

3. Cut that bigger bottom picture of Sub-Zero out. Again..you can experiment with the other smaller bottom picture of Subby

4. Sexy Sonya Pose

5. Siang

6. Cut that Left Scorpion...the arm is the only tricky part...

7. Cut that sick left-side Sub-Zero...*Pallet swap fav* That Baraka is questionable...

No rush...I'll just re-post whatever's doesn't get done. All of these should be just as easy as those few....nothing is too tough. I think I'll be posting up some of my own cut-outs later too...later. I just went through a couple more of the books and theirs quite a bit that looks like they could make good potential renders...so b-bck

WOW again man!!!!!

I got to figure out how you make your cutout shiny around the edges with GIMP. I miss my photoshop.....

That's...actually something you don't want...and it's called "Feathering" too much. I turned the feathering to 0 on that flying kick Sub-Zero and it came out better. You want nice smooth rounded edges. Nothing to distract from the render.

I think my cuts still suffer a little bit from "experience". For instance, I'm not sure I zoomed in close enough to the render (500z), but it's a cartoon, so it's pretty appearent once you get close enough what you're cutting...You can tell because there's still "other colors" that surround some of my renders...that's not so good either.

I really just follow that tutorial, and each time I try it gets better....but still not exactly there yet. Still pretty bad those mistakes.

The 3rd one had messed up feet,So i did the best i could. I really didnt know what to do about the smoke at the bottom of the 4th one either, so i just cut it the way i did. I hope you like them.

^^^^^Honestly, Predator for this one,I couldnt get around not cutting the hand out and sadly the arm that was cuttable had no hand, so this one looks really bad. I say we find another Scorp you agree?

I did, infact,cut that Baraka pic, you said was questionable. I wanted to atleast make up for the Scorp one. I think the Scorp one looks awful and its not my fault. Anyways, I hope you like them.

Looks excellent Karate. I can't see the Scorpion one though...but I'll just find a better, different one...I know there has to be one in there somehwhere cuz, I still haven't gone through all the comics I have yet.

hey yo this maybe an irrelavent question to this thread... but where do you get the comic book images from? did u google them?

What progrm do you have? You didn't make the "base image".."transparent". It might be called something else, but basiclly that's what happened.

I just checked and it's also saved as the wrong file type. You need it to be saved as a "gif" or "png". Emphasis on "PNG", but jpg won't work at all.



Not initially, I had them in-hand...then lost them during a move from house to house. Then I found them(some of them) surfing around on the internet. The link is now defunct but, I saved them to my computer before that happend. Yay!

ThePred151: I'm using GIMP. Here's what I do after the image is open.

Hit Add Alpha Channel

Make path around whatever I'm cutting out.

Hit "Create selection from path".

CTRL+ i(invert selection)

CTRL+ k(delete background)

I still gotta go through a couple more pages to see if there's a better version of Scorpion than that one so..the more the better. Somebody may want to use it in the future so...I'm for having it..



Oh, o.k. I believe Karate uses Gimp to cut...I'm not familiar with gimp procedures so you'll have to consult someone like Karate who's more experienced. Sry.

But I can tell you that "invert" is never a part of the process, nor is "deleting". You should have access to "layers" or "levels" or something to that effect...
