O.k. I'm back again.
I have PSCs2.
I'm trying to understand simple commands.
1. I can get the image into my userbar space, but then, I can't move it around.
How? (Nevermind this one)
2. Having trouble "downloading" the font. How did you do it exactly?
From clicking on the font, to "extracting" the file. (Nevermind this one too, just figured it out.)
3. Can't figure out what I did wrong with the "slanted lines" that are supposed to be all through the userbar//banner.
4. What file type do I "Save As" in PScS2, that will allow me to go back and make adjustments to the piece after I've saved. I my other program it's called "UFO".
Btw, this is just a practice one. This is what I came up with:
5. Anything else you guys notice that will help me out?

You must put the userbar pattern, after you're done putting your backround.
Image>New layer>Pattern
Immeadiately, you can either go ahead and put a new layer in or paste an image in the bar and automatically it will make itself a new layer.

You can't unless you save as a PSD. or Photoshop format. Then and there you will be able to edit it when you wish.
Hope this helps.

Thanks man, I'm gonna fool around with it later. I'll put up the result then.
EDIT:
Is this good?
I made the background in photoImpact10(my main program), so I found that I didn't need the "pattern"(slanted lines) I asked about in this one. But I know how to do it now. Thank you so much Actic.
I will be making my own other elemental userbars/banners now.

Using Photoshop 8 CS and Imageready, I made this for a local band.
What do you guys think?

I probably would have made it 19 px tall, but a lot of times the picture looks too pixelated. I have some 19's, but I have another one for those Oregon Trail fans out there...

The pattern is wrong. The dots go diagonally, not all around. And the font size is 12. Other than that. And perfect!
Anyway, After watching "The Gay Adventures of Burnt Face Man!" I decided I like it. So I made a userbar of it.
