I want to say his own paranoia is what makes him make messed up decisions. Imagine standing around, and all of a sudden getting a message and visions from the future implying not only your own death, but the death of a whole lot of people, and Armageddon happening. The on top of that receiving some cryptic message that you don't quite understand the meaning of.

That would probably mess with anybody's head a little bit, you would have to hope your interpretation of the message is correct, and you know if it isn't, you and many other will perish and Armageddon will happen. You also have to guess what needs to be done to prevent these visions from happening lol that's a lot of pressure for one person, even if you are a "god".

If I had that responsibility I would probably end up making some rash and potentially bad decisions as well lol

Not making excuses for Raiden, but as somebody that overthinks things a lot and is kind of paranoid, I don't hold it against him as much as other people do lol

Now heres hoping he doesnt get killed off next issue or my words from one line above would be wasted sleep

If Scorpion goes by his own word, he should probably kill Fox the second he realizes he is being possessed or whatever his deal is. He specifically told Takeda NOT to dance around it, but to kill it.

I think that would put Scorpion in an interesting situation, does he kill one of his own clan members that he has known and trained for at least a few years? Or does he allow him/it to continue it's killing spree and potentially hurt more people?

Shit if that was somebody I cared about, I seriously doubt I could bring myself to actually harm them.

It would be a tough decision to say the least IMO

He is still a wraith, Kenshi and Takeda's conversation from last chapter confirmed that.

yes i meant Drahmin, you know the almost naked and meaty guy from MKDA... he could look like the faceless Fox under his mask, we dont know plus he is a demon if i remember correctly

Oh, right. I thought you were talking about the voice in his mind, not Fox himself :P

Are they a full comic or short thing and put together as one comic. I ask this cause since it's weekly but print comes out monthly I'm curious to see what's in issue one of the print version

Each chapter is like 24 of "full pages" (the full image, if you count half by half there are like 48 pages + 3 intro pages). So I think the print issue will have like about... 72-75 pages? Or 153 if you count each half as one page. I hope you can understand, sometimes it's hard for me to explain something.

It definitely won't have 72-75 pages. The solicits list them as having 40 pages; two pages of one of the digital issues would likely fit on one page of a physical issue. Are you reading them off Google Play? Because that's the only service that splits the pages in half. They're not intended to be read like that.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
After horrifically disfiguring himself and massacring the rest of the Shirai Ryu, Fox, possessed by an unknown force, implores Takeda to finish Scorpion... or suffer the same fate as the rest of his clan!

My theory is the unknown demon needs Hanzo to return to the Netherrealm. While in the netherrealm Scorpions powers grow stronger and Scorpion would probably consume Hanzo making him easier to manipulate and also making him the Demons ally. I'm not quite sure how Takeda and Fox have a role in this though?

The plot thickens.

Let's rock.

-I see quite a few people concerned about Scorpion reverting back to his revengeance days.

But you know what?

I'm actually willing to give Kittelsen the benefit of doubt here.

In just one comic book issue, he's done more to advance and develop Scorpion as a character than half the games in the series put together. I think it's a pretty safe bet that he knows what he's doing.

I mean, we all know perfectly well that seeing his clan wiped out would've sent the old Scorpion into a rage frenzy. But taking this new and improved Hanzo and putting him in the same situation is a perfect opportunity to show how far he's come along as a character.

It's also a pretty safe bet that Takeda survives whatever is about to happen. And as long as he lives, the Shirai Ryu lives as well. This time, Scorpion won't be the only survivor.

So I think Hanzo is going to take it better than you'd expect him to. If anyone's going to swear a blood oath to take down Fox, it'll be Takeda.

Kittelsen has obviously put quite a lot of care and effort into building up the character so far. I'd think he knows better than to take all this effort and just fucking flush it down the drain.

-I know Boon said Drahmin is not in the game, but as soon as I saw HOLY SHIT SUDDENLY NOFACE, he's the first thing my mind went to. I'd love to see him back.

I don't think this has anything to do with Kotal, though.

First of all, nothing about him makes me think: "The One Who Walks in Silence? Yup, that's this guy." Kotal Kahn is not the sinister voice echoing in the darkest, deepest recesses of your mind, because from what we've seen of him so far, he's a lot more straightforward than that. I don't really see him dabbling in possession or mind control when he can just walk over to you, crack your skull open with his fucking battle paddle, rip out your heart and drink your blood.

And second of all, this particular part of the story takes place after the Netherrealm War. We already know that Kotal is very active during the civil war in Outworld, which, logically, should engulf the realm immediately after the news of Kahn's death have spread. If so, then he can't be the demon who slipped through the cracks between the realms after the war with Shinnok because by this point, he should've been around for years, if not decades.

I asked Kittelsen on Twitter wether Fox might be possesed by Drahmin or if he is a new and better Version of Drahmin and he favoured my tweet.

Awwwww yisssssssssssssssssss

thisiscourage Wrote:
That demon possessed fox because fox was too weak minded.

Fox, like the rest of the new Shirai Ryu, is a survivor of the Netherrealm War.

We don't know the exact circumstances of his survival.

Just throwing that out there.

Lucifer- Freed after the netherrealm wars wanting his throne back

As much as I want them to revisit the Lucifer bit from Mythologies, and as fucking radical as it would be to see him nailed to a fucking rock with a giant spear or something down in the lowest plane of the Netherrealm, I'm pretty sure that Shinnok and Quan actually killed him when they took over.

thisiscourage Wrote:
I really hope fox is in MKX, with that awesome faceless demon look as a costume.. badass!

I really doubt they'd have him just running around all meatfaced (maybe as an alt).

In fact, I have a feeling what they'll do is play off his name a bit and give him a wicked Japanese fox mask:

Personally, I'm thinking something along the lines of a raggedy, messed-up-looking, Voldo-fied Kunimitsu (minus the tits):

Am I seriously the only one who kinda liked those stupid gym badges?

Like, why would the Elder Gods shape a Kamidogu into a dagger if they were created at the beginning of time, before daggers were even a concept? The original Kamidogus didn't really look like anything, they were just shapes. I figured that maybe that was the point.

Yeah, and I have faith that someone between MK (2011) and the comic events forged the Kamidogus into daggers (and other weapons?).

it will not be on the DC comics app because its 17+

it will be on the comixology app though.

It kinda sucks because I bought issue 1 via the DC app, issue 2 via itunes books and id prefer to have all my stuff together in the same app.

There wont be any more issues published on the DC app though..

Kittelsen said so on twitter

Alright, noob question but, anyone know how all the issues/chapters thing is going to work out with paperback?

Like, what's included within one of the paperbacks? There's already, what, 2 or 3 issues or chapters that have been digitally released?

I'm strictly stuck doing paperback, which I'm fine with. I just want to know will we continuously fall behind week after week waiting for paperback. Example, if all the digital folks are on issue #5, will 1-4 already be out in paperback or will we still roughly be on issue #2 or #3?

Just need some clarity. O.o

Holy shit.

So does this mean that the Shirai Ryu didn't actually get slaughtered, and it was all a dream or some shit?

Y'know, I was secretly hoping that the visual of the Shirai Ryu getting butchered was some kind of an illusion to provoke either Scorpion or Takeda into doing something. Like, Kittelsen seems to be a capable writer so far, there's no way he'd do something monumentally stupid like wipe out Scorpion's clan for the second time, right?

That might also explain other inconsistencies, like how Fox was able to easily break into the surprisingly unguarded room with the dagger or how Takeda managed to sleep through the mass murder of his entire clan. Whoever "He Who Walks in Silence" is, he's some kind of mindfuck demon. I'd say this probably rules out Kotal for good.

And we finally get a confirmation on the names of the Hanzo's wife and child.

This shit is aces.

If it was all a dream, then I called it. I mean Takeda slept through the slaughtering. Really? it just doesn't feel consistent.
