Looks pretty awesome. The sound design is awesome, I love how meaty those punches sound...

But why is this in the MK 2011 forum? The miniseries should be in the Movies and Media forum, shouldn't it? I mean, it doesn't actually tie into the game.

Looks fun! Could've used a little more aggression , though. The fight seemed a little tame. I would personally have had Kano attempt to knock Jax off his feet before running from the explosion as opposed to having the actors simply going "I'll go this way, you go that way". It felt like the director missed a few opportunities to make this bit even better and not so "rehearsed", but at least I can tell I'll enjoy watching the rest, and that's priority #1. Nitpicking isn't necessary right now.

That was....retarded. My major questions.
1) Why was there a random 40mm grenade launcher there?
2) Why the fuck would Kano grab it anyway?

Besides 40mm has an arming distance. It'd be a dangerous UXO but it was silly to see it glow and make a whack ass sound before it explodes. Yeah yeah I know it's just a show, I take things too seriously, don't worry about it, blah, blah, blah.

If this trailer is any indication it's going to be lame. Might be worth a few laughs and have a cheeseball apeal like the movies but bleh.

Because it's in the script and the actor just follows it... D'uh! ;P

Okay, seriously, they are fighting and in the mid of the heated battle, Kano grabs the weapon that catches his eye. He doesn't really have time to consider what weapon does what, he just goes after the weapon he sees first and wants to shoot at Jax.

Though Kano should have grand knowledge about weaponry, I doubt he was thinking clear at that moment. No one would.

True but it's pretty hard to mistake a 40mm grenade launcher for anything else. Either way I'm overanalyzing like usual. Carry on. smile

Maybe (hopefully) it's one of the Black Dragons' headquarters so they have weapon racks.

Exactly, we don't even know what type of factory it is...it could be a weapon's factory....or the launcher is for something else and isn't
necessarily a "fire" explosive it may be water for putting out fires,,,idk anything is possible when you don't have all the facts.

Yes that is Kano, because that's the actor that signed on to play Kano.

Also I can't believe some people are flipping out again over the whole magic and realism thing again. I mean it's an industrial area with two people fighting who don't have powers at all, what's the big fuss???

Also I mean Sub-Zero has his freezing ability and scorpion has his classic spear instead of that mechanized one from the Rebirth Trailer. So there should be characters that have the powers and abilities in the series.

Why would they run away from anything but an explosive? Granted it's true we don't have a lot of facts or anything but the end of that scene is not well done and doesn't make much sense.

I watched it again and Kano actually does have some time (not a lot though) to see what he's grabbing. It's not like he's got his back against the rack and just grabs whatever he can blindly. He specifically chooses the grenade launcher.

This is the point I'm trying to make though. If he was intending to use it at close range then he'd get blown up along with Jax (since this is fantasy land where 40mm grenades apparently have no arming distance). If he's scared enough to run away from it when it hits the ground beneath them then why would he expect the outcome to be any different if he shot Jax at roughly the same distance?

Whatever I know that I'm overanalyzing. It's my thing, it's what I do.

Kano just doesn't feel very Kano to me. He just seems like a petty thug with not much confidence. Not sure if it's the actor or what. Of course one minute is not enough time to fully make that call. But that's just what I gathered. Jax seems to be a perfect fit though.

Not every grenade launcher is used for warfare. Demolitions, controlled enviroment mining etc.... in that case having signals on your explosives might be a good idea.

You mean a 203?

With a slightly shortened tube and minus the EOTech of course but that's what Kano is using - a military grenade launcher. Nevermind the other weapons lurking beneath it on the rack. Granted this is a work of fiction and they can do whatever they want and we don't know quite the context. So whatever I just thought it was silly that he would grab a grenade launcher - since even if he managed to shoot Jax with it would still get caught in the explosion.

Doesn't really matter though. smile

Agreed.. Kano has probably witnessed his baddest and best taken out by Sonya and Jax.. the place sounds like its taken some damage (listen to the background noises).. he is panicky.. his gun is out of ammo..

he is cunning Kano, everything he does is to live and fight another day

First of all I don't think is nice to just show a bit from a film/series
just like that.

Anyway from my point of view sound is great color correction is great.

But people come ooooon, this doesn't look like it is made in 2011.
it looks so much like it is done in the early 90's.

you can compare this to a Van Damme movie from the early 90's.

PLEASE LOOK AT THIS LINK PLEASE....

I'm curious to see the rest of the series.
