It's something that would happen to Kano, Sonya, and Jax. It works fine. And as for the "random rack" of weapons, who's to say this isn't Kano's base of operations?

Its Jax and fucking Kano.... their conflict isn't supernatural.

If Scorpion and Sub-Zero were having that same fight, I'd agree. Sonya/Jax/Kano has always been ultra-modern.

Looks good to me... I don't see the what the complaining is about without having more of it to watch. Apparently this is pre-Kano getting his eye implants so...cool.
It already looks to be 1000x's better than MK: Annihilation and I love it for that at this point.

That's true, but seeing this as a teaser for a franchise that's more supernatural than natural, it just doesn't feel right.
But that's just my opinion (:

In the context of the characters involved, the clip is fine.

here's a new press release with cinformation of Ed Boon and Netherrealm Studios's involvement:http://www.comingsoon.net/news/gamenews.php?id=76069
Kevin Tancharoen who directed and produced the popular, unofficial “Mortal Kombat: Rebirth” fan short, is bringing the same immersive directing style to this live-action digital series. “Machinima is the perfect entertainment destination to premiere the series,” said Kevin Tancharoen, Director, Producer and co-writer of “Mortal Kombat: Legacy.” “They have a massive audience of gamers from around the world. We worked very closely with NetherRealm Studios and Ed Boon, and we’re now putting the finishing touches on the episodes. I’m confident we’ve stayed true to the Mortal Kombat lore and am hoping the fans will be blown away by what they see.”

I love the look of this.. following it on youtube atm, and yeah.. the so called "fan boys" (who don't know anything about MK prior to 2005 but think they are experts) hatin it.. but good support on there too..
I think this has a perfect MK1 style feel to it

hahahah its so fucking cheesy! especially with the bomb thing they both run away like they were Larry and Moe instead of like men.
9 episodes of 9 minutes = 80 minute combined footage.. as much as Annihilation.. it's main purpose is to gauge interest for a new movie.. so i think if the webseries can give us 80 minutes with what sounds like 30 mins min. scenes that needed to be deleted.. the next movie will be epic

Stop focusing so much on Jax KTanch. We could've easily gotten a Sub Zero/Scorpion fight to show that this series really WAS MK. Instead we get a fight between Jax and a man who I'm sure most people won't recognize as Kano. If you showed this to the most casual gamer in hopes of roping them in, they'd be shocked to learn that MK is actually full of magic ninjas and pantless overlords. Hopefully the full series will be better

In all fairness, the attention is always on Scorpion and Sub-zero, it's nice for them to focus on other characters that matter to the series as well, the ninjas are important, but Kano and Jax are as well.

Its not a trailer for the entire series, its a clip of the fist episode most likely. Each focusing on different characters pre tournament. You'll still have your Scorpion/Sub and Kitana/Mileena ect. episodes.
I think it looks great.
