So since Raiden is going tom get the information of the future and that it will not turn out well, it would make sense that he would make efforts to change events that caused Armageddon and (what we would assume) is the defeat of all of the heroes.

What events or people or other history do you think Raiden would or should try to prevent or change in order to create a positive future?

I would think he would try some of the following:

Kill Shujinko before he can complete his quest.
Destroy Blaze before he can be used as the guardian of THE EGG.
Kill Reptile so he cannot be a vessel for Onaga.
Have a GOD ON GOD war with the God's of Edenia to stop them from having their "protection" take place.

I cant think of a peaceful way that Raiden can accomplish anything that would alter the future to turn out better, so maybe a "dark" Raiden shows up earlier in history or he goes crazy and Fujin has to take over.

what do you think he will do with his new knowledge?

Raiden should have sex with Kitana so they can make electro-assasin babies. They'll mature faster b/c they're demigods.

Then once they come of age, send them off to kill people like Shao Kahn and his ilk without having to actually get their hands dirty. And since Raiden and Kitana are both inherently good, the babies will become good and won't fuck anything up in the future.

I'd imagine Raiden would try to prevent the resurrection of Sindel. That alone would entirely prevent MK3.

Ooohh I like that one!!!
Stopping Sindel from being resurrected would stop a lot of the drama!!!
This would also cause tension between he and Kitana if she was "for" it.
I likey!!

Search for Kenshi so we can get him earlier than the original timeline and I'll be a happy man.

How the hell are they going to write that out of the story? If he succeeds I see some crazy shit in our future.

I want all of Raiden's changes to go wrong and make things worse.

Bad End.

Not sure myself, since Sindel has no corpse as far as I know. She just kind of manifests in Earth realm once the ritual is complete, giving Kahn the sovereignty to invade. I guess Raiden would have to stand by and kill her instantly upon resurrection before Kahn can act.

A rock solid story that isn't subject to the obssessive whims of a select few fans who get any idea in their head and are incapable of thinking around.

PURE FANTASY!!!

Or maybe he'll try to help. After all, a Shao Kahn dominated Earth would certainly lead to a different future.

Worse than 'everyone dies'? That'd be pretty impressive.

"Everyone Dies Sooner" is a little worse.

"[Insert Villain Here] Conquers the Universe" is probably even worse than everybody dying, too.

wouldn't everyone dying sooner just mean the end of the game sooner?
I kinda like the game. LOL!

Or a little better, depending on your point of view.

"[Insert Villain Here] Conquers the Universe" is probably even worse than everybody dying, too.

Seems like that would vary from villain to villain, though.

I think it would be an interesting twist if Raiden overreacts, meddles with the MK1 tournament and ends up causing the basic events of MK2 by initiating an invasion of Outworld himself.

Then in a twist of irony his actions are seen a gross violation of the Tournament rules by elder gods, causing Kahn's invasion of Earthrealm in the events of MK3 to be completely legal this time around. But of course still subject to face the defenses of Earthrealm.

Yeah I'm really concerned that Raiden sent the message to himself.
Raiden seems to do one of two things: be all "god like' and out of the picture of royally mess things up.

Which Raiden shall we get with his new info....LOL

We all know Raiden's fiddling with the past is going to bite everyone on the ass (though if everyone got killed in Armageddon, I guess it's the lesser of two evils).

Whatever happens, I hope it puts the bad guys on top, if only to make things inevitably more interesting in the sequel.

Raiden could:

** Go on the offensive: Take the war to Kahn in Outworld, and try to kill him before he figures out that Sindel is the key to conquering EarthRealm.

There's tons of miscalculations within a base premise such as that. He could send Earth's Champion into battle prematurely, and as a consequence, get Liu Kang killed much sooner. That way, it wouldn't stop the franchise from producing new games, and still allow new stories to be told.

**Raiden could not take part in Mortal Kombat himself like he did in the beginning.

That way, his mentor-ship would remain A LOT more objective instead of personal. The earlier Raiden did seem more ruth..err..."pro-active" anyway, remember?

**Raiden could kill, or have Shang Tsung killed sooner.

This wouldn't stop the same story from happening the same way, but with Kahn having to "replace" Tsung, that personality change alone could influence the way things happen going forward.

**Raiden could let Kitana know about Kahn early.

Kitana's an assassin...she could kill Kahn for us really early. That way, we get a new boss come MK10.

--

Some ideas anyway. They're bias in the way that it makes Raiden's decisions more aggressive alot sooner in the previous timeline but, it's definitely a change with dramatic effect. I just hope it's good no matter what though. To do what they did with this concept has to have alot of confidence behind it. Especially considering Boon looks at this game as a sort of service to more of the core fanbase.

I agree, I think there should be a time paradox fucking up what he wants to change... and I also think Raiden should have limited knowledge of the future, considering it was a desperate rift...

Changes to make in the hopes of preventing the dark fate of the MK multiverse....hmmm...

Really, just one. Find Shinnok's damn medallion! This is the key to most of the damnation that takes place in the later games. Either find someway to destroy that thing or find a better place to hide/secure it.

I like the idea of Raiden pushing the advancement of the War to Shao Kahn early would be interesting.

I'm wondering if Raiden will prevent Liu Kang from winning the first MK. They mention it and with Johnny Cage being the first human we see, maybe somehow Raiden fixed it so that Johnny becomes the champion. I don't really see how this could affect the timeline in any significant way, but you never know.

I bet you Kitana actually gets that one a lot.

The most obvious changes would be to kill all who oppose Earthrealm. Shang Tsung should not be allowed to survive MK1. Perhaps this drives a rift between Raiden and Liu Kang's evident mentor/student relationship, though? Shao Kahn is someone I'd expect to be well and truly dead by the end of the game, too.

Sindel's resurrection was the event that pretty much triggered Mortal Kombat 3. If Raiden can somehow prevent that, then I think that's worth addressing, too. Maybe the lack of Shang Tsung makes it impossible for Kahn to carry out his plan? Instead of Earthrealm being invaded, Raiden takes the fight to Kahn in Outworld with a stronger battalion of Earth warriors, with Kahn being sorcerer-less.

I see Raiden either having a stronger relationship with Sonya or a much weaker one in this timeline. Kano is one of Earth's most savvy and effective warriors, whether you like him or not. In MK1, he actually fought with Sonya against Goro, and he only ever joined Kahn to save his own skin. If Raiden offers Kano some sort of protection, then perhaps Kano will stay aligned with Earthrealm? That would be an interesting twist on his story. Sonya and Kano might be unlikely enemies fighting against Kahn, waiting for this mess to be over so they can kill each other.

The Amulet is a big one. Quan Chi would already have it in the storyline. I'm sure Chi is another one of those villains that Raiden would kill the first chance he got if he ever met him. This pretty much made MK4 possible. Goro is another villain that I see Raiden making sure actually dies during an encounter with a warrior from Earthrealm. An example: Liu Kang defeats Goro, spares his life, Raiden reduces Goro to ash, Liu Kang questions Raiden's actions, and Raiden challenges Shang Tsung to Mortal Kombat himself, or something. Raiden then appears to Kang, and he says that he wants him to go after Shao Kahn. Kang refuses, but Kung Lao is Raiden's man for the job.

That'd actually be very plausible if Kenshi was a DLC character and the DLC's also had some part in the story (assuming all the characters are purely MK1-MK3 which they probably will be). And tbh, Kenshi would've probably made a better Earthrealm chosen warrior than Stryker imo haha.
