I also like the idea of Cyber Subz being the father I actually thought of that too and whoever came up with that idea is great. Because then this would really make the battle with Sektor personal. I feel they have just made Sub-Zero the ultimate B**ch in this game.
I felt he was the ultimate escape artist in the last game because even when he faced death at the hands of Scorpion, Noob, Hotaru, or any others he always managed to escape it. Whether it be by luck or whatever, he always survived, and I hate that he was one of the first to die this time.
Not only that but he got turned into a cyborg which his whole character was against in the last timeline and him having to undergo it just makes him look like a little biznitch.
Also, I feel like people bring up the change argument here but I have this to say. When I bought deception my brother and I both looked at Sub-Zero and thought what the hell. My brother even laughed and said Ha! he's shredder. So I was kind of pissed, then I found out the backstory behind it and why he wore it and it is now my favorite attire of his. The thing was that was a huge change and a huge risk they took making him shredder-esque, but it didn't change his character to the point that it was unrecognizable. So ultimately It was change that I liked and came to accept.
The cyber thing is something I will not come to accept because it comes down to it goes against his character. Not only was Sub-Zero not in the middle of a tournament when he fought to get away last time, but he actually had a chance to survive in the last timeline. He was just taken this time making him look like a chump, and the fact that someone allowed it, Shao Kahn, just makes it worse like it was not Sub-Zero's decision at all. A staple character in the franchise and he has no decision, much like his fans had no decision in this. Also, the part of him getting away no matter what like in the last timeline ended there, because he didn't get away in fact he was one of the first on the good guys side to get killed.
Then he gets a completely different playstyle which I don't agree with because i prefer the defensive style better. So, that's why I hate cyber subz for the record because unlike his deception attire which was a change in character, it did not murder what his character is completely. A good solemn guy who is like batman essentially he shows up when needed but no more and he always manages to escape death, no matter how it may happen. This time he was murdered and turned into a cyborg, then he was placed in a big meeting with all of the good guys, like it's the justice league or something, and then he dies by a punch to the face.
He was just made a mockery of. Not only that but his chapter as a human just made him look revenge driven which is also not what sub-zero was ever about.

I actually thought Sub Zero was a major badass in this game. Except for his strange uppercut-on-metal-body= death exit, i thought he was great. You wanna see a REAL bitch? Scorpion was literally Quan Chi's little errand boy lol (not that he didn't deserve it with an IQ that low
).
Haha!
Haha!

Just opinion I guess. I'm taking you like cyber characters though, am i right cyberdemon?lol
I feel he wasn't done any justice, and he is tied with Mileena and Shang Tsung as far as characters who got raped the worst in this game.
And the fact that people are talkin of Bi Han taking back over the role of Sub-Zero just throws more sh** on top of this situation because now the guy who has been Sub-Zero since MK2 won't even get a chance to redeem himself in the next game because he may not even be in the next game. I just hate this situation all together because in the end Kuai Liang is getting the short end of the stick. I might actually start calling him YSZ again too because Kuai Liang was the birth of something that is not Sub-Zero in my eyes.
In fact that should be the differentiation between them. Sub-Zero in the old timeline is YSZ(young sub-zero). Kuai Liang is the abomination that became cyber subz and wanted revenge for his brother because YSZ never did any of that.lol. I guess I'll say I like YSZ better.lol

They just switched a black cowl with a black helmet with a crest on it. That's really not much of a change at all.

I don't know from his traditional ninja look he always had it was a pretty big change.
Not only was the helmet different but they added fur and his overall look was much bulkier in comparison to some of his older looks. It just didn't look like Sub-Zero.

Bulkier? I actually think he looks a little skinnier in Deception than he does in Deadly Alliance. And the fur is hardly a game changer. It still looked exactly like Sub-Zero to me.
The only thing that threw me off in Deception was that the scar was missing, and every time that Sub-Zero shows up in promotional images before a game comes out and he doesn't have the scar, it causes a debate amongst the fans about which brother it is, because that's how everyone tells them apart physically, Younger Sub has it, Classic Sub doesn't...or at least they DID.
I guess you could argue "well now we know one is Noob, so we'll know which Sub it is if Noob is in the game too", but then there's cases like MKvsDCU where Noob isn't in the game AND it's set in a version of the past. Either Sub could've been in that game, and the first promotional image even had him without the scar, so again the question was raised, until they released the final design and he had it again.

Psst... Kuai Liang is the one with the V formed vest on. And his eyes are closer to eachother than Bi-Han's. So now you know. ;P

Face it - Cyber Sub is the Kuai Liang.
It's the fact of life and your cries will not be answered by the evil people of NRS, who doesn't care about what YOU want. =)
And CSZ was as badass in MK9 as possible. Even more badass than most of the characters in the game.

And as unbelievable and stupid it's sounds there are some people out there who don't want to see ninjas with their own unique appearance. I know a few guys who were enraged and still hate the fact that ninjas began to look unique since MKDA. Fanboys are fanboys - no reason, no logic.
I wonder if they have given any forethought of what CSZs sould in the netherrealm looking like the cyborg body might signify, or even imply.
He might have been against it moreso in the original continuity, but it might be that Kuai Liang would cope with being essentially a brain in a jar.
Which would be all kinds of awesome, since that does not prohibit him from succeeding throuh the same stuff that happened post MK4. Only as metal.

I've always said that Subbie can STILL achieve all the things he did throughout MK4-MKA, but just as a cyborg. And I hope he will.

Lol. I never said he wasn't. I know Kuai Liang is cyber subz. The discussion at hand though is HOW we would do it differently though. I guess you overlooked that though. Or maybe you were just being your usual idiot self trying to cause a fight again. Anyway I said I was done talking to you so stop trying to pick a fight.
In response to JadedRaven I like the deception gear I don't want you to think I don't. I was simply describing my first initial thoughts on it when I first saw him. It's my favorite gear of his now though, honestly I hope to see it again as his primary but that's going to be a far reach since he's a friggin cyborg now.
I still think he looked bulkier than his past versions though, Anyway my thoughts on it was that it was different and added individuality to him as a character and I'm saying that it was change for the better. Cyber subz in my opinion is change for the worse for his character.

That would have actually been really cool, especially if in the future Bi-Han discovered this and used it as his tool in helping conquer the Netherrealm, that would be cool to do a revist of that and the benefit would have been everyone techniqually being themselves, while still giving us a new character.
Now it's most likely going to be a sloppy retcon unless they stick with CSZ, which if they do, I guess more power to them for being resilent against pressure, but I'd prefer a human form at least.

Human Subby WILL be back come MK10; it's just a matter of HOW he is brought back. My vote goes to Sareena helpin' a brotha out (ha) by taking Subz to Quan Chi's restoration chamber (man, I feel like this is the 100th time I've said this lol). Oh well.

Wasn't his head ripped off in story mode? Even if it was and they could do something about it, possibly, it wouldn't make sense...

i still think adding Cyber Sub Zero was a bad idea so i would probably not have made him into a cyborg. Noob Saibot is questionable though...

If they had planned it, which they did not, but if they did (i.e having Scorpion simply burn him to death and leaving his burnt body around). It would have worked perfectly fine.
They didn't plan for it, so it doesn't matter, if they did plan for it, they could have done it differently, but they planned for Kuai Liang to make the change.
There's a lot of stuff in the story that makes little sense, that would be the least of it, the thousand year retcons are more glaring than if they had used Bi-Han's body.
I guess it could have worked if Bi-Han was just burnt alive. But then if it was planned, how would the younger one react to this? "Oh, my dead brother is Noob and Cyber Sub-Zero..." Where would they go with this? I'm just throwing stuff out there right now, if this seems like I'm just babbling, well.. no, not really.

Ideally, I don't think Kuai should've found out his brother is Noob in this game, they should've saved it for the next since it'll be Shinnok's invasion and Noob and the Brotherhood of the Shadow should have a much bigger part. ('Course, with Noob being blown up in the soulnado, his role in the future is up in the air, but I wouldn't have done that either.)
I also just feel like the longer Kuai thinks his brother was a good guy and worthy of being honored, before finding out he's really an evil douche, the better. Otherwise, you just raise the question "Well if he knows his brother isn't worth it, why is he still going by his brother's codename, why doesn't he go back to "Tundra"?" because he hasn't had time to grow used to being called Sub-Zero or made the identity his own yet, he's still only calling himself that in memory of his brother.
So ideally, in an MK9 where CSZ is Bi-Han's corpse, Kuai would just have to deal with finding out that the Lin Kuei hasn't just turned on him or violated his best friend, they've also desecrated his beloved brother's dead body and turned it into a weapon against him. He wouldn't face Noob yet, or if he did, wouldn't find out who Noob is. They shot their wad way too early on the potential Sub/Noob feud.
They did start too early with the brother rivalry.
And the only thing that I greatly disliked about the story was that Sub-Zero was a cyborg when he met his brother... It would have been fine if it was his human self and seeing his brother turned evil... Not while he's a cyborg that it could have made it seem like Noob had no idea who was underneath it.

I think that they maybe want take "Sub-Zeroes" in drastically different directions and in order to do that they clear all story between them. Maybe they possibly will never be around each other in the next games. Or one of them will disappear from the series.

Also, I don't intend to pick up a a fight with you. You already had shown your true colours and besides you are simply not worth my time.

How exactly did Noob Saibot know that the cyborg was Kuai Liang again anyway? I forgot how.
Didn't he just say I wore those colors once or something like that? How did he even know it was his brother because it was a robot???
I agree with you Icebaby that the scene where he saw Noob would have been much better if he was still human.
Also, I agree that the encounter between he and Noob happened much too early.
Maybe he finds out in the next game that Quan Chi has control over Noob or something and thinks that's the reason he's evil.(even though it's not). That way he thinks he needs to rescue his brother again.
I feel like we are all looking how all of this is going to tie into DA-A though but it's not. It's going to be completely different because this story is very different from the original timeline.
I just hope Kuai Liang is still there which is my biggest fear of all that they are just going to write him out completely to bring in Bi Han, in which I will officially be done. Because my favorite villain and favorite hero are then dead and the dynamic of the brothers is killed which is what I've liked so much about Noob since Deception.
I don't know if I would have liked Cyber Subz being Bi-Han's body either though because then it'd almost be a battle like who's the real brother?
Heck maybe then though the cyber version and Noob could merge and Form Noob Cybot.lol. Black Cyborg with Noob's powers.lol. If anything has been proved in this situation though, it's that fans get pissed off when a main character becomes a cyborg so I would also be against that. Like I said I'm on the boat that I don't want any existing character becoming a cyborg because fans will probably get pissed, unless it was Kabal or Jax in which they're already on the road to being cybernetic.

Noob and the cyberninjas both worked for Kahn, and the invasion was like half over by the time Sub was defeated by Kabal and freed. Noob surely would've noticed one of them was named "Sub-Zero" when they were all hanging out discussing invasion plans and whatnot in Kahn's throne room.

I think Kano was the one who him, and that the cyborgs referred to each other by their unit number.
