I only played GoW on the PSP and tho he does fit in world of MK I don't really like the guy. I don't really care for guest chars in fighting games, but that's me.

Are you sure about that? I thought Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was what was canon from that set of games(MK3/UMK3/MKT).

And Kratos is better than a lot of, well, pretty much majority of the characters introduced once MK went 3D.

I HIGHLY doubt creating Kratos for MK took them away from the real MK characters, and i'm sure the God of War creators/artists helped a great deal.

Concretely certain. Trilogy-only character bios and endings were continued into MK4.

The last version of a game has ALWAYS been the canon one. Gold is the canon MK4. Tournament Edition with Sektor, Noob, and Sareena is canon to MKDA, and Unchained is the canon Deception.

i like krastos but he should be a surprise......he should have been released last on dlc. and i wanted to see sonya or liu or raiden. WTF!!!!!!

Not big on guest characters but at least this time it's a character I like this time. Although he is extremely similar to Scorpion both weapons, fighting style, and storyline. I guess I'll just treat him as a "scorpion of a different era" type deal (like they did with the different "ages" of Spawns). I just hope he'll actually USE his flaming chain-swords for his weapon based combo attacks instead of just having them for one special and maybe some throws but the rest of the time using a katana or broadsword (or the Sword of Olympus even) like Scorpion does with his "trademarked" rope-dart.

Just in light of how serious everyone else may be taking Kratos being in the game, i wanna play with this.

Kratos has to have help to kill the Greek mythological gods. So...

#1: Nobody knows Raidens weaknesses. So I'll assume he doesn't have one. I might consider his passion for mortals a weakness, but that says nothing for his actual capability.

#2: Kratos matches up better for Scorpion anyway. They're pretty much identical. The only edge, if it really were one, is that Kratos has two chained swords instead of Scorpions one harpoon and chain.

#3: Scorpion has done mm.... damn near everything down to the letter that Kratos has done.... AND He lives in Hell.

I don't know GOW3 gave kratos more of a storyline at first it was revenge but eventually he did change everything. Sub zeros storyline was the best out of all of them he progressed the most.

Well sweet then. MKT was the best of the 3, anyhow. I love how the story involved all the characters but still kept the same basic premise as all the MK3 games.

I hope we see some really interesting down-loadable characters in this game. This is only the start of it.

True - there will be many more disappointments and let-downs from NRS to come in the next few months so people will soon forget about this and move onto them.

Kratos is a "noncanon guest character" he wont be in story mode. So no he wont ruin the mythology of the series. And he is not one of the 26 main characters since he wont be appearing in the xbox360 version of the game.

If there was one character who could fit in the mk universe its kratos. I dont see a reason why people are dissapointed. This could increase the sales of the game since there is a huge gow fanbase. Plus I xobsoder my ps3 to be my major platform and this will most likely increase the sale of the ps3 version.

Wha...? Reptile could have had an interesting storyline, but instead he always was relagated to the mere dog-servant of the bad guy of the game. He was always used primerily because he was stupid enough to believe that another warlord or fallen elder god will reunite him with his race. Even after Kahmeleon told him the truth he stiil contineus to fight for Kahn. In the end he is just another classic boring and shallow character alongside with Baraka, Kano and Scorpion.
Sub-Zero (especially Sub-Zero), Kitana, Raiden and even Noob-Saibot are much more deeper and interesting than Reptile.


And of course you see some riots and angry people going to NRS and WB offices...
Stop being stupid. People who disappointed about Kratos in MK just state their opinion. Nothing more. If that's considered to be a whining...well, then any complaint about the game, whether it's valid or not, could be considered whining.
In this case a thought occurs: maybe for some people it's simplier just to eat whatever they receive, rahter than demand for something better?

For those who played God of War 3, it looks like Kratos has the golden fleece on his shoulder, perhaps that would help him deflect moves.

Over it as in "see it as a good thing and don't think it was a bad decision"? Ha, not even. Some people are still mad about MKvsDC; you think we're gonna forget about this?

MK3 saw Raiden getting banished back to the Essence when Kahn make his move. MKT bio says he came back as a human so he could fight.

But MK4 says he came back to Earth AFTER Kahn got taken down.

And some people don't like the taste of garnish when they ordered steak and potatoes.

I'm one of them. After having a game with friggin' Captain Marvel and the Flash, I was MORE than ready for a pure MK game with a pure MK roster.

Really? Reptile has been everyone's "lil bitch" since day one. Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, Onaga, just to name the obvious ones. Nothing has happened to him outside of being the surrogate for the Dragon King's return. Which is metaphorically again, someone's lil biatch.

Every character I listed, and then you elaborated on for me, has more of a "life" inside the MK mythos than Reptile.

I wish they used the subzero stance on this new trailer, but unfortunately I'm betting they didn't change any of the stances because Scorpion's was different as well in the vid. Probably just showing off brief animation for the scene.
