MK 1 - 3 had a total of 7 female characters. Now, considering that the roster is gonna be around 26 this time around, I don't see why at least 5 or 6 of them shouldn't make the cut.

Sindel
Boon has stated that the story is a retelling of MK 1 - 3. I don't think it would be accurate to say that unless Sindel will be part of it. As far as the MK3 story goes... it would not have existed without her. She was the catalyst that made that story possible. Therefore, in order to say with a straight face that this will indeed be MK 1 - 3, they will require Sindel.

As her #1 fan, this makes me wanna say to all the Sindel haters and doubters out there: "In your face, bitches! Haha. This is such exciting news for me.

But anyway, despite the fact that she was vital to the story, there's no way to be certain. Chances are way up for her though because of this.

And if she does return, I believe she will be evil again. Afterall, she was pure evil in MK3. Back to her viscious, sadistic roots, I hope. And with this new lightning fast gameplay full of classic moves and all, I can only imagine how fun she's gonna be considering her creative powers. Afterall, there's no way her gameplay could be worse than it was in her previous appearance. So yeah, she can only be better.

Sonya
I don't think there's anyone on this board that doubts Sonya will return. Time after time they show us that she's MK's premier female, the Wonder Woman, the Chun-Li, etc. There's simply no good reason why she wouldn't return in a game full of classics. She's as classic as it gets for this series.

Kitana
Another classic, so I believe she'll make it as well. Though I think her MK 2 - 3 story was more of a subplot, she did have an impact on the main stories of those games. Plus she's popular and iconic. It's very likely that she'll return too.

Jade
People will say, "we're already getting Kitana and Mileena, so Jade is redundant." However, considering that there's only 7 classic females to choose from, I'd say her chances are good. She's definitely in the top 5, imo.

Sheeva
She is unpopular and has four arms. Unless they include Goro (which I'm sure they will), I don't think Sheeva stands a chance. I think because of the challenges with making her character model, Jade has a higher chance than she does. But, I also think Sheeva has a better chance than Kintaro only cuz we don't need and will not get 2 male shokans.

Khameleon
I didn't want to count her as the seventh female but if I didn't I know people would be like "Hey, you forgot Khameleon," so... I think it's safe to say that she will not make the cut. At best, she will have a cameo of some sort, but there's no way in hell she'll make it before Jade, Sheeva, or her male counterpart, Chameleon. Needless to say, I believe non-classic females like Li-Mei and Sareena have a greater chance than her since she is not a "real" character.

So again, these girls plus the confirmed Mileena make up the 7 classic females. With a roster of 26, I think 5 will be the minimum amount of classic females that'll return.

In order of probability, the choices imo will be:

Sonya
Kitana
Sindel
Jade

I think Sheeva and Khameleon's chances are slim to none.

Because the female count is so small, I suspect they might add 1 or 2 new females if new characters appear at all. It would be very unlike MK to not include new characters since even the "trilogy" games had them (Chameleon, Khameleon, Taven, and Daegon).

Anyway, I can't wait to see which ladies will appear. I'm positive, and I'm sure you all are too, that Sonya and Kitana will return, but I also think it would be nonsensical to not include Sindel, so I'm betting she will too. As for the rest, God knows, but I would love them to return in full next-gen glory just as well, for sure.
