Continuing into MK2...

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)

So Raiden declares to the Elder Gods that he accepts Shao Kahn's terms, and takes the heroes into Outworld to attend the tournament 'cause he has a vision of the original MK2. But the vision showed Liu winning, and he now feels that Liu winning isn't the right outcome because Liu winning MK1 didn't prevent Armageddon.

The tournament starts with Jax beating Baraka. Suddenly, Shang and Kahn call it a day. Raiden informs the others Sonya's been scheduled for execution.

Raiden, Jax and Cage go off to rescue her and Johnny gets on Jax's nerves until he beats him up. They get to the armory but a female character is guarding it (Sheeva I think, given mentions of Shokan) and Jax beats her. They get to where Sonya's being held and Jax fights another Shokan, Kintaro I'm guessing. (The script doesn't name who's speaking and they don't always address opponents by name)

Though I have to point out, there's been zero mention of Goro going missing or thought dead after MK1, so he's presumably still around. The island didn't even fucking collapse like it was supposed to, after all. (Or at least, no mention of it in the dialogue)

So after freeing Sonya, they detect the signal of another technology nearby and Raiden teleports them to it.

Cut to Smoke and Younger Sub-Zero, who have arrived in Outworld and are having a discussion as they travel about how "Tundra" assuming his brother's name will draw unwanted attention to him, but is the best way to honor him.

Kitana finds them tresspassing in her father's realm and Smoke defeats her.


Sorry that one took so long, I should break them up into smaller bits like when I started...more coming...

- Everyone has two fatalities. One from the start, a second unlockable.

- You have to fight characters before you unlock them? Quan Chi and Cyber Sub-Zero atleast.

- Everyone has an unlockable item/trophy through the ladder. Most of them are what you expect (Scorpion's Spear, Cage's glasses, Kung Lao's hat, etc)

- Other characters listed, possibly playable (they seem to be bundled in with the select character screen info): Cage's Twin Johnny Blaze, Stunt Man, Thug, Cyborg, Demon, Stunt Zombie, Zombie, four different Tartakans, Director, Oni,....Nightwolf Demon? Rat (guessing as in snitch)? If not playbale then atleast cameos in challenge tower

- Challenge Tower as an arena?

Yeah. The Challenge Tower modes aren't part of the main story (like Mileena giving Scorpion a teddy bear), so I'm afraid what we've seen is flat out canon. An entire chapter of the game is dedicated to that fact... and strangely enough, it doesn't end with a magic fix either.

MK2 Continued...

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)

We find Kano selling arms to Shang Tsung, when Sub-Zero and Smoke arrive. Subbie demands to know from Shang what happened to his brother. Sektor shows up, now a cyborg, to the surprise of the other two and demands they return to Lin Kuei HQ to be automated. They refuse to submit.

Cut back to Raiden's gang. They run into Smoke who informs them Sektor is hunting him and Sub-Zero (who has gotten separated from him.) Raiden says they'll probably find him at the tournament and they leave, running into Cyrax who is also a mindlessly obedient cyborg now too. Smoke defeats him.

They find Sub-Zero and tell him Scorpion killed his brother. Then they run into Ermac, who injures Jax badly (maybe this is where we get the reason he needs his arms?) Sonya asks Sub for help getting him out, but he just tells her where to find the portal 'cause he's headed to the coliseum to challenge Scorpion.

Since the plot point that-shall-not-be-named has pretty much already happened, Johnny Cage dying is the one OTHER thing that could ruin this for me. It'll probably be a little better when I'm actually seeing all of this happening, but I'm not entirely sure I like where Sub-Zero is going (aside from the plot point that-shall-not-be-named). Kano selling arms to Shang sounds pretty interesting though.

Shang Tsung just might be able to morph into multiple characters. There's a mission in the Tower called "Who Am I" where you change characters every 10 seconds. Or it might be called "Change is a Good Thing". I'm not sure.

There is also a mentioning of "Inferno Scorpion".
