I don't even know what to say to this next part...
More as I go...
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
It sounds like Liu's last fight before Goro is a 2-on-1 match against Scorpion...and Quan Chi. What is this I don't even.
Anyway, Liu fights Goro and Shang and wins, naturally.
Then it seems to skip DIRECTLY to Outworld where Kahn's bitching Shang out for failing. That's a weird cut. No island being commanded to collapse and everyone making a break for it?
Anyway, after Shang begs for his life and says he has a plan, we cut back to the heroes. Raiden is confused because the crack on his amulet has gotten bigger. The message he got from his future self said "He must win" and Raiden's going like "If not Liu Kang, then who?"
Shang shows up with his youth back and challenges them to MK2. I'm not sure if there's a Tarkatan horde attack like there's supposed to be or not. It's certainly not like in MK2 where Liu returned to find everyone dead. But when Raiden refuses to accept the challenge (because, y'know, what the fuck is in it for them? the whole rematch hook in MK2 never did make sense), Shang yells "Kill them all!" and there's some fighting. So that might be it.
Also, Sonya is still captured like the first time. And there's talk of Liu and Kung freeing their shaolin masters too, so they must've been kidnapped during the attack.
I may have been wrong about Jax's arms earlier. He's in attendance like he's supposed to be. I think I misread a scene earlier during that dungeon stuff, that actually had Raiden healing an injured Jax.

What's good?
The dialogue. I really like how the characters talk.
I especially love the first meeting between Liu and Kitana. It's handled gracefully, unlike the bullshit in Shaolin Monks.
It's a good, maybe even great script...it's just a bad story. Y'know' full of lies and retcons.

Well that's good at least.
My willpower sucks! I've only read three of them (Kitana's because I wanted to ensure they didn't kill her off with the new story somehow). then went on, but I stopped after three, lol ... I'll come back to this thread though once I've seen all the endings I care about, just to see how the others I don't faired. :) thanks for the info.

The link is in the other thread. It's basically a brick wall of text, with no indentation.
If he's organizing it for you, you should just wait for him to do so. Rather than strain yourself to find the text you want.

Open it in Wordpad or Word, not in Notepad. Notepad is what will give you the huge wall of text.

EDIT: Raiden
EDIT: Raiden
So... many... spoilers...
And I'm so full of fan-rage...
. At least I have a month to calm down rather than seeing it in-game and hating it...
First, what I like:
... But there's so much that's just not sitting well with me.
I'll always have MK1-3 to remember fondly, but this is less a tribute to these games than a super-grand "One More Day" way to wipe the slate clean... even at the expense of great characters and great stories. If/When a new MK game comes out after this, it'll have FAR more baggage than Armageddon ever had... and the storyline just became even MORE of a mess than it was before.
Is it different? Absolutely. But I'm not so eager for "different" if it means erasing and stepping on everything that made the original games' characters and storylines so captivating and interesting.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
The dialogue. Johnny Cage is awesome. His banter with the others is amazing. He went from a joke character to one of the most likable characters in the franchise.
Kabal and Stryker as police partners prior to the invasion is nifty. I like how we see Kabal getting his injuries and showing his ties to the Black Dragon.

I'm impressed they had the balls to take the original games and just screw everything and everyone up... but they may have gone too far. They took the appeal of many characters... MOST characters... and changed it or threw it out the window, to the point that they cease to exist as the characters we originally came to love. Smoke is practically a brand new character (from Prague). Sub-Zero, in his own words, is a flawed shadow of his former self. Cyrax, not Smoke, is the reluctant cyborg ninja. Kano's story merges with Hsu-Hao's. Tons of characters, from Quan Chi to Sektor to Nightwolf to Jax, are suddenly at the MK1 tournament. Sonya now has big daddy issues and psychological problems (someone played Metroid: Other M...). Nightwolf is no longer a historian but an ageless shaman from long ago that can turn into a werewolf. Kitana never sees Mileena at all until AFTER the events of MK2. Ermac is Kitana's daddy (in a way)... on and on and on. Some of these new additions are neat (Sektor is the son of the Grand Master), while the rest seem really out of left-field. The story itself doesn't make sense or work... Raiden's attempt to fix the mistakes of the past ultimately sends everything and everyone to hell in a hand-basket... and the game ends on that note, with most of the heroes dead or altered to the point of being unrecognizable.

I just don't think people realized and fully believed, that this is indeed a REBOOT of the story. It's a whole new storyline. It is based on the old, but it is taking creative liberties to change characters and events around as it pleases, just as a reboot does. Some people held on to the thought of this just being a simple retelling of MK1-3 as we knew it, with LITTLE to NO changes at all.
Hell...I even saved a thread where Razor said something to that effect, just because I KNEW it would end up being wrong:
http://www.mortalkombatonline.com/content/forum/showmessage.cds?id=130177&page;=2
Razor:
"When the game comes out, I'm gonna feel kinda bad for the people who are expecting all these changes left and right and everything radically re-imagined, and it turns out the game was just Ed's chance to show "the real story of MK1 thru 3" and Raiden's time message is just an excuse to do very minor corrections like "Johnny lives" or "Shao Kahn dies". Well...I'll feel bad for them for a few seconds, as they flood the boards whining like babies about how they were supposedly lied to about what the game would be about. Then I'm going to get annoyed by said flood and start spiting them with laughing "i told you so"s."
I love this quote, and I saved it for a reason. Because he was sitting there gloating as if he knew it all, and was so sure of this game's purpose. Yet I had stated multiple times, this game was meant to be a reboot, a way for NRS to re-write history the way they wanted to. To make the characters the way they wanted them to be, the events the way they wanted them to be...with no space, technology, or memory limitations causing them to make shit work. THIS is the story that is being told this time around, because THIS is the story they WANT to tell. Sure, you ahve Raiden's alterations, but it goes beyond that. They are changing shit because they want to change it. Some of it will have nothing to do with in-game reasoning, it's them just changing it because they feel it better suits the overall story.
I know it's a drastic change for some people to swallow, but why did you expect everything to be so similar to before? They made a lot of mistakes before, that they are now changing. Sure, it retcons things, but it;s a reboot, so it's not retconning anything. They are changing shit up the way they want it to be. They are making each character have their own unique story, and merging stories to better make sense.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one expecting this from the start. The level of "no, it *must be exactly the same* as MK(X) was truly astounding. Glad that's all gone now and people can start accepting this isn't MK3-2 or MKA -1 or whatever.
Also- Kind of random- but does Nightwolf's (utterly stupid) ending confirm Animalities?
Oh well... at least there are MKII Ninja Leotards for the ladies.
I'm more interested in that than Naked Mileena
Good night, folks... thanks for the info!
