Why couldn't this ending have happened?

Most likely they'll give him Smoke's original UMK3 ending [see my sig for part of it] that somehow Smoke was able to escape his cybernetic body and regain his human form [until MKT retconned it out] most likely that will happen to Sub-Zero.

I was hoping there would be a scene where Smoke goes after Cyrax and Sektor proclaiming they can't have S-Z. Sektor saying to the effect that Smoke is no match for both him and Cyrax when Scorpion appears and says to the effect of "You heard the Lin-Kuei Warrior. Release Sub-Zero immediately." Which will lead into a tag team match of Scorpion and Smoke vs. Cyrax and Sektor.

I finally got to read all of this fun stuff and I have three brief musings:

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)

1.) Not enough of Reptile going all Malcolm X on Kahn's cornbread ass.

2.) Human Smoke was just as irrelevant as everyone said he would be (though, that doesn't matter because Cyrax is a baller-ass gangsta who took over in style).

3.) Robot Sub and new Ermac are the bee's knees.

There's changes that have nothing to do with Raiden's message, because Cell arrived in the past 3 years before MK1...

Seriously though:
The woman in Jade's ending is obviously Delia. Remember the hood she wears over her face, with a 3rd eye symbol on it. That was the 1st thing I thought when it said she saw through the eyes of all mortals.

Liu Kang is an orphan? I thought he was Kung Lao's cousin & they were both descended from The Great Kung Lao. What is the origin of his fire powers? Is he the 3rd son of Delia (Bro to Taven/Daegon, 1/2 bro to Rain?)

I'm stoked about seeing Human Sektor/Cyrax (OH NOES!! MOAR NINJERS!!furious) I never thought Sektor was the Grandmaster's son. I had him pegged as a descendant of Takeda, with his loyalty to the LK strong to make up for his ancestor's betrayal. But this kinda explains why he's red like the Grandmaster. Cyrax is again confirmed to be black, specifically Motswana, the singular term for a native of Botswana, Africa.

I like how they're fleshing out some character backgrounds. No more mysterious ninjers. Smoke was is a demon, but doesn't remember? Being sacrificed as a child was neat. Who did the cult worship? Was Smoke the 1st of Quan Chi's earth ninja recruits(I'm thinking the cult worshipped Quan or Shinnok... or perhaps something darker...
So he's an Enenra, that makes sense. At least he's not elemental. Smoke is not an element. The only correct use of that now would be that his costume elements are of the smoke theme.
Tommy Vrbada sounds so familiar from somewhere. Also Tommy Vrbosa.

If people are smart, they should know that human sektor and cyrax aon't be playable character with their own moveset. At best they will be an alt.

Based on looking over the whole leak file... yeah, I'm kinda thinking that too...

There's little to no reference to either of them outside story mode in the entire leak. Cyber Sub-Zero is referenced quite seperately from normal several times... but those two as humans really aren't mentioned anywhere else.

So yeah, I'm thinking they'll just be Cyrax and Sektor's alt costumes, and as for their moves... I really have no idea. Even if they didn't have them in story mode, they'd obviously NEED to have them in versus mode... so I'm thinking they probably just found a way to let them use their moves as humans too? Perhaps the weaponry just spawns out of thin air... instead of shooting out of their chests...

Dunno.

If Cyborg Sub-Zero still uses ice powers doesn't it stand to reason that the other cyber ninjas still use their regular/human techniques just in modified bodies?

Dang I just realized something.


Out of all the cyberninjas, only Cyrax and Sektor had no precise supernatural powers. They all had inbuilt weaponry. Smoke showed no supernatural powers in MK3, his smoke power was explained as being nanorobotic in nature.

Probably a suggestion: we saw how much human the unarmored cyborg Cyrax showed in MKDA. Perhaps if they are smart, they could do the same with a smaller extent on Sub-Zero since if it is still true in this continuity, his Kori powers are genetic in nature.

Suppose this requires his flesh and the same holds true for Smoke, who I guess had smoke powers, probably from the same source in the original timeline (Tomas Vrbada, prague, infant daemon sacrifice and expert escape artist assassin). So, if Smoke got automated his smoke powers could only be emulated by the nanobot technology after Noob refomatted him....

My point is, the supernatural Lin Kuei probably would require more flesh or more intact bodies to have their original powers work (Sub shooting his ice out of a chest compartment would be awkward). This way we can have a semi-armored Lin Kuei wearing uniform and not decked out in plastic and metal armor. At least not to Sektors extent.










Maybe the chest comprtment in the cyber ninjas spews infinite bombs/missiles because it is lined with spell tags to conjure their arsenal. Technology + magic

Lady in red, "Skarlett", I's thinkin' is Delia. Given Skarlett's usual fire themed powers, it may be a way to validate Skarlett.

The Jax/Kano endings could open up a new can of worms. We could explore the Cyber realm. What new threats could await? Cyber Demons angry over Earthrealm's polluting the Cyber realm with their Digital garbage, and misuse of digital witchcraft.

We know from Armageddon's Konquest that Daegon learned about the true purpose of his quest shortly after prematurely awakening. That something fucked his mind so badly that he snapped and killed both Argus and Delia. As of MK2,Daegon has been active for quite some time now. Hell,now that I think about,maybe Argus' death is what made Edenia vulnerable enough for Kahn to finally take over. And since Edenia has been a part of Outworld for thousands of years,that means Daegon has been running around for quite some time. So it's extremely unlikely that the chick chained in the Koliseum is Delia.

The mysterious woman in Jade's ending was something that instantly got my attention,though. Maybe she's a sympathetic Elder Goddess or something. I know I'm grasping at straws here,but I hope that's one of the endings that they'll actually follow on from this game onwards. Maybe it was just a back door they left for themselves in case people raged out too much,so that they could retcon all this new nonsense and go back to the old canon (FUCK Y'ALL,I AIN'T NEVER GIVING UP THE HOPE FOR THE OLD CANON).
Just read through...all 24 pages. good reads.

I think they're doing great here...just kinda shocked at my favorite blue ninja's little...change. T_T

Cant wait to play through it though, i have no real problems with it other than...yeah. EDIT: Just now realizing all of the spoilers I read. Curse these urges! D:

I read the story and i'm not to thrilled for it. There were a lot of key moments for the MK characters that were left out that solidify them.

For instance killing Kung Lao during MK2 was a bad move IMO because it completley leaves his character out of the invasion of Earth and him faking his death at the end of MK3 to live a peaceful life

Sub-Zero has to be the most fleshed out character in Mortal Kombat and his appearance in MK3 only made him better with him being the first ninja without his mask and due to his insubordination with the Lin Kuei it introduced us to characters like Sektor and Cyrax, this story throws both Cyrax and Sektor in way in the beginning and completley takes away there menace as souless and unremoursful killers like they were originally intended to be.

Not digging what they did with Kitana also, if I remember correctly it was Kitana and Mileena worked together thinking they were twins and Mileena was completley envious of Kitana. Also I was under the impression that Kitana was a bit of a rebel when it came to following orders and that is what lead to her learning the truth of what happened to her father and Sindel, not Raiden interferring and telling her without her finding out in her own terms.

Sindel has very few parts in it if I remember correctly. I actually liked Stryker and Kabal's part of the story mode. The only part I cared for. Although, I do admit I'm big fan of those two so it may of just been my bias.

Ha no shame in that lol My faves are Sonya,Stryker & Kabal as well. I keep reading they have some sort of union or partnership together? Is this true? Because I asked for this for the longest time! What exactly do they say or do in Story Mode? ?If you need to include spoilers I understand :)
