Common misconception. The pass is not linked to console its linked to an account.

Even if you do buy new it could still affect you. You may have to pay more if you have more than one account on your system, you can't sell it off again at as much as you could have gotten, and you can't loan it to a friend or give it away as a gift. Not the full extent of the game anyway.

i think that its odd to pay double price, first you pay for online, and then you pay for DLC's. hmmmm, they should of done it like smackdown vs raw 2011, when you buy whole packet and all DLC's are free to download. and if you dont want to buy the whole packet you have to buy DLC's separately. which is fine, and this is sorta weird imo.

I liked how THQ did that, SvR 2011 to me has the best deals on DLC, actually I think they are the first ones to be considerate enough to do this. Nice Sig by the way im a fan of Mcool as well.

Ok what about multily accounts. For example if I have a brother with a diffrent account. He shouldn't pay 10 bucks just for playing online. Kinda fucked to me.

The only people who are getting actually dicked here are people who play online from multiple accounts on one system. If that's you, you have my condolences but alas you are no longer the games industry's focus.
I'm on xbl and I already pay too much to play online so the notion of paying for a second or third gold account seems absurd, but I guess a house full of achievement hunters it makes mroe sense. Regardless, I'm sure the EULA states one buyer one license, not one buyer unlimited licenses. Probably has for a long time.

They call you a bank and do this kind of middleman shit all the time. You are already in the business of milking people out of money throughout their lifetimes due to mortgage interest and foreclosure resale.

You want to know what this really screws up? GameStop's shelf copy.
GameStop usually opens a new game and puts it on the shelf, storing the disc in a sleeve behind the counter. People can flip through the paperwork and stuff. Eventually, when they run out of copies, they'll sell that gutted one as "new."
What's going to happen when people start swiping codes out of these shelf copies? They already do it with Nintendo registration codes to earn points on the website.

I don't follow where you're going with this. Everyone will probably have to pay for DLC. The Kombat Pass applies to used game copies only, which is generally cheaper than new copies.

I would logically assume Gamestop is not stupid enough to leave something like this in a shelf case, but I've been surprised before by what Gamestop does. If Gamestop were to somehow swindle a customer by giving them a used disc as new, the obvious thing to do is return it and take your business elsewhere. If WB got enough complaints about it they might do something about Gamestop if it's a practice that is proving problematic.

Just remember. Whatever PSN you register this to is what PSN you'll have to use to play this online.
I for one am going to buy the online pass in the launch date via Xbox Live and spare the code in a locker for a few months until I will sell it away in an auction site. The difference? The online pass will not only label my console but my profile too. The card, in the contrary, labels your console only. I will have the advantage to play the game online in my friend's house too if necessary.

...Look on the bright side, maybe this will stop Gamestop's ridiculous resale prices! Will they really sell used MK9 for $55 dollars when the customer knows they'll really have to pay $65 to get online? I dunno, I think used copies will go for $45 so it's still $5 cheaper to buy the used copy.

The only reason I own Resident Evil: Deadly Silence is because Gamestop left it in the case on the floor.

How much revenue approx did the gaming industry make last year? Just curious why they are trying to squeeze more money out of consumers when they are already trending to make more money every year... If they want more money, then charge everything up front for the game that they feel should be charged, if people buy it for that price, then they know what they are getting up front, but don't start chipping away more and more buy adding other little "surcharges" etc. Just seems like they try to squeeze more out of us by using these practices. Just my opinion.

People are so quick to blame WB here and its really not there fault they're just playing the hand they were dealt. I'm sure this isn't how they want to do things but the way used games sales have gotten I really dont blame em. The root of this problem is companies like Game etc... they're the greedy fucks in all this the used game thing is the scam here. They buy games back for a fraction of what they sold them for then sell them again and again for almost RRP.
And thats another thing the RRP! £40! how much are they making on that first sale? I dont get the idiots who go out and buy games from these places instead of doing a little shopping around. Maybe its just here but game prices have plummeted in the last year or two. Most games are available sub £30 within a couple weeks of release.
So why are companys like Game selling for £40 when other companies are able to sell for over £10 less and still make a profit? Maybe if they weren't so greedy and sold games at a fair price to begin with they'd have more sales and make a greater profit overall.
Personally as far as the gaming industry goes I think the game shop is dead and so is the cd format. It should be replaced with online stores and eventually a set up like steam. Eliminate the CD completely and distribute everything digitally. Steam offers such great value as it is, imagine if there were several competitors like this pushing each other for the best value.

They certainly don't have a problem leaving Nintendo registration codes in the case. It wouldn't be such a big deal with used games because there you get what you pay for. But when your "new" game all of a sudden doesn't have everything it should...

Oh word? If you recover your gamertag somewhere else does it work or is it one system only?

Dude, just go back and read some of the previous thread. You pay online, if its a used copy. Its not the best thing in the world, but I can imagine you're getting it new, so you don't have to worry.
