It couldn't be THAT expensive. You could easily fit MK1-MK:Armageddon on one Blu-Ray, I'd imagine. Frankly, I'd be happy with just MK1-4 making the rounds with some updated refinements, like online play, arcade-perfect graphics and sound, and maybe a few easter eggs.

Make it happen, Boon. ;)

For real, but to have all the games in a collection would be sweet. Especially MK1-MK4 in Arcade format, or imagine them Adding an HD graphics to them wow

Only one can wish, but who knows... Would be AWESOME!!!

why not have a completion on the psn/xbox live to buy. they already have 2! so just release the others. also the story telling in mkvsdc was pretty good, though i like to play as one char, and not everyone.

I'm glad it's not like MKD. I never liked the mary sue protagonists they introduced, I always would rather play as the established haracters than some generic new douche like Shujanko ot Taven

I am still wondering why NOBODY but me is trying to ask Boon about Kombo challanges... No interview has these kind fo questions about the little things.

These interviews are really upsetting as the interviewers ask NOTHING new. It really was a bust that MKO couldn't attend.

I wanna know about Kombo Challenges.

I wanna know about Krypt stuff (unlockables and such) - I REALLY wanna know if all characters are gonna be available from the start or if we can unlock most. Because....thats fucking fun. I hate having everything from the start.
I hope that some characters need to be unlocked, it's part of the fun of playing MK since they been doin that for MK:DA and MK:D... and for the Achievements/Trophies, it's gonna probably be some Krazy S**t lol. Other than the single player and two on two, I really love to see the endurance mode they had in MK return.

When they talk about comic book-style animatics for endings it's hard not to think about 1997 on the PlayStation, or stuff that's happening on the PSP now. It's probably more exciting than a couple of still pictures, and definitely more exciting than a kata with a throwaway paragraph of text, but...

Hopefully the assertion that it's a sequel alludes to a resolution that brings us back to the end of Armageddon, rather than a do-over. Neither is an especially satisfying follow-up to the last couple of games, but at least it'd be a clean and easy break forward.

Hmph.

So...rectify the past once and for all, and move forward from the latest current event. That suggestion is wonder-ful....In one swoop also suggests that this game could end with the actual ending of Armageddon.

Or the lack thereof?

...

A letter of apology to the fans since MKA was such a mess? Noooh....really?

I'll try not to hurt myself with that thought process.... It is interesting though.

If they were going to be stingy with one thing in this game, i would hope it would be the presentation of the endings. God forbid they should not make this new engine reach its full potential just so the players can get a minute-thirty of prettiness at the end.

And I never understood why people get so huffy about HOW they show an ending; if an ending is great, and is told well, it shouldn't matter if it's rendered in CGI animation or a wall of text in front of a picture.

I wouldn't mind unlocking them by meeting certain conditions, like in Story Mode or something. I mean, the Krypt was pretty fun, but the Koin collecting gets tedious after a while.

I think the reward system should go hand in hand with Achievments/Trophies.
Normally, I hate trophies, and want nothing to do with them. But imagine if every time you got a trophy it unlocked something.
Like, let's say you get a trophy for completing your "first combo" and it's a fairly simple trophy, but it could unlock new concept art and stuff like that. Whereas, having some more difficult trophies, like, "Complete the Arcade Mode on "Very Hard" will unlock that character's alternate costume. Or something of the sort. And say, completing the Arcade Mode with all the characters unlocks the final boss as playable.
That kind of stuff.

I think if you look at it from the perspective of new owners and the perfect timing for a 'fresh start', it's probably not unreasonable that they'd want to reintroduce all the key components to catch people up.

Doing a timejump that eventually brings us back to the end of Armageddon in 'the longest story mode ever in a fighting game' might be a good way to try to please everyone. Revisionist in nature, but still moving forward!

It might just be wishful thinking, but it'd be nice to think their confidence in the importance of defining this as a 'sequel' is for good reason. Just maybe they're holding back. Maybe we're going to have cake, while the newbies catch up, too. Which wouldn't be a bad trade-off!

Couldn't disagree! If multi-tasking (or delegating) isn't an option, a decent fight engine is probably a new MK's greatest priority!

I'm not that disappointed about Konquest not being in the game. Konquest is really a story mode and to have it along with the MKvsDC type story mode would be hard to tie in with the whole storyline. If they were going to let you choose you character for konquest rather than be stuck with someone (ie shujinko) it would be a hell of a lot of hard work along with the normal story mode. I would say it would require a completely different game. Plus it would also retract the teams attention to improve the core of the game unless a completely different team would work on it. Albeit a huge team which would require a shit load more money.

Same goes for the story mode which someone had already mentioned (wanting to be able to choose your own character). Being able to choose your own belongs in arcade mode. The story mode should focus on the main story which requires dealing with every character in the game therefore requiring you to play those characters. Which i think works out for the better. It makes you play other characters rather than sticking with the same one everytime and therefore get you to know each character better and how to play them. The MK game i've played the most is UMK3 and the amount of people i play with online repeatedly, always choose the same character, usually smoke or kabal. MK should be a game about diversity between characters, different playstyles. I always love playing different characters every match. The side stories for each character should remain in the arcade mode at the end, like all the MK's have done before it.

I would love to see Konquest mode return, I normally spent most of my time in that but not in this game. I would prefer a seperate game like Shaolin Monks.

Be fair. Kintaro's ending involved swords made from elements and abstract concepts. That was wonderous.

Adding Deadly Alliance & Deception almost feels redundant if they can just add Armageddon. Put MK 1-4 + Armageddon & (maybe) MK vs DC into one $70-90 Kollectors bundle.

This.

Plus, I'm honestly happy that about the lack of konquest. I hated Deception's konquest, and I never gave Armageddon's a chance.

And what new quality did MK3 bring that MK2 didn't have? Were those things greater than the additions from Deadly Alliance and Deception (both superior games to Armageddon, by the way, so why add the worse one of them)?

honestly, im happy with the direction the new endings will be taking... the movie endings..have never worked...and the picture endings...could have been more.

I am kind of sad that it wont have a konquest mode.. i actually really liked deceptions konquest (even the cheesy side missions).
the thing that worries me about the new story mode, is that i will have to make people win matches...when i really dont want them to win the match

for example: Scorpion is fighting sub-zero and the story is making me fight as SubZ and i would rather not....

probably sounds stupid, but being such a huge fan of RPG's i would prefer getting to choose what happens in my story...tongue

Film is definitely a dead-end avenue for storytelling. Thank god we can all abandon the pie-in-the-sky dream of motion pictures and just get back to cave paintings!
