This might have been relevant like 5 years ago when anyone gave a shit about Freddy or Jason.

The 'slasher' breed of horror films is virtually extinct. Torture porn is the current rage in the genre. Jigsaw would be more likely than this.

The only reason I'd care to see Freddy and Jason is cause I'm a huge fan of 70's and 80's slashers. Personally though, if we see any DLC characters that are not part of the MK universe, I'd like to see Albert Wesker from the Resident Evil games.

Somone had a really good point about torture porn. However I supsect if this is true they are pulling a marvel vs capcom with marvel characters. What I mean by that is they will appear as dlc characters and a few months later when everyone is loving the two and getting hyped about them, news of a new movie pops up.

Also how would jigsaw fight? I would love to see that puppet fight, honestly I think he would be a nice addition to a vs game (except they are all rated teen)

Also I got into a conversation on another thread how mk isnt really trendy. (Im talking culture, not games such as god of war) I doubt they would include sommthing that will be irrelevent in a few years. I honeslty thought nrs would pull nitara out of the har for some reason (vampire love these days) but then I remebred the whole anti-trendy thing.

I remember liking Nitara back when I played Deadly Alliance, because I was a 15 year old little goth chick at the time, but looking back on her now I think she's a pretty awful character. The wings just look ridiculous.

And now that I think about it, Kung-Lao's sawblade attack is exactly the sort of thing Jigsaw would throw. And he'd have the same sort of extandable blades as Baraka.

If Freddy Krueger ends up as DLC, which version of the character would you guys and gals want? The original, voiced by Robert Englund, or the newer version? I admit that I didn't see the remake of ANOES, but I'm certain there were differences in both takes of the character, be it appearance or mannerisms.

I want the classic Freddy. The true Freddy. But if the newer version was included as some sort of alternate design, albeit one with a different voice, mannerisms and perhaps even a different intro, I'd welcome it. But that's assuming there were any significant differences between the two incarnations of the character. Edit: If you're gonna say neither, then don't bother replying to this post.

How I'd make Freddy work, gameplay-wise, which comes with a story detail.

As great as his claw-glove is, his attacks shouldn't be limited to it. So I was thinking, that Freddy is brought into the real world, but he somehow retains his dreamlike powers. They wouldn't be as effective as they are in the dream world, and he could still be killed.

Freddy and Jason are two of the most well known characters in the world and WB can use them practically for free. They are financial and inspirational no brainers in a game about super humans violently murdering each other.

I seriously doubt they'd risk turning anybody off by using Jason X and retarded real world Freddy.

I would be okay if Albert Wesker made it as DLC or DLK or what have you, but only if they get D.C. Douglas to voice him, assuming they let him talk, it amazes the fuck out of me that the DLC characters might not talk.

Guest characters are dumb. All of them. Universally.

Freddy and Jason belong in MK about as much as Harry Potter fits in Lord of the Rings. You could say, "But Harry Potter uses magic just like the people in LotR, so he must fit perfectly!"

That logic is stupid. If you think Freddy and Jason fit in MK just because of death and violence, then you have failed to see what makes MK great on the most fundamental level.
