I really liked this trailer, and I thought the music went really good with the video. I would have actually liked to see the characters, but it's all good.

I like this trailer alot especially the use of alt-rock/metal (whatever you want to call it) instead of Techno and I reckon Disturbed fits in with the dark, gritty feel of this mortal kombat game perfectly (alot better than the tacky techno stuff they have used in the past).

Lmao at the excuses for "metal" some of you people come up with. Cookie monster vocals, no rythym, no lyrical talent. Spells crap to be honest.

That kind of "metal" is underground for a reason....its sucks.

Disturbed plays great metal on the biggest stages the world has to offer while your death metal bands still play in their parent's basements wishing they got some recognition.

Instead they sing about death and destruction while not showering and painting their toenails black.

By classical standards, Disturbed is as metal as the likes of Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Pantera.

What the rest of that garbage that's out there compares to is the last shit I took.

Disturbed is an awesome band, I've seen them live twice. And yes they are metal so saying they aren't is just flat out stupid. Rather have this in then any "songs" you could come up with.

The team can AFFORD a Disturbed song is kind of an important thing. It's symbolic of the fact that WB money means a real, professional presentation for once. As in, we can look forward to even more high quality stuff like, say, voice actors who are actually in the voice acting business instead of the developers themselves getting behind the mic and hamming it up like usual.

There's nothing about that that isn't good news.

(And for the record, that Adema song in Deadly Alliance wasn't the greatest, but I still loved the music video and wish every MK game had that kind of PR campaign)

Now...onto the trailer itself. The most important thing I noticed and would like to talk about is when the silhouette lifted and we could see Scorpion, he was wearing his MK vs DCU outfit. I wonder what that means for his costumes in the game, is that gonna be his alt? On one hand, I hope so 'cause I really kinda hate the one we've seen so far. But on the other hand, I wish the alt costumes would be something radically different from the primaries, like say a version of Scorp with his mask off and the flaming skull visible the whole match like in DA.

Dude...there are sub genres in music. Disturbed is classified as metalcore, which most would agree is not metal. You like them, good for you. I can come up with songs for over a year, but thats not the point.

Disturbed to be honest THESE days because of the bullshit that's considered metal, are considered Hard Rock.

But again...by the standards of the 80s and 90s...They are Metal and there is no contesting that.

Should it have been the first teaser? I think so. Was this trailer awesome? I think so. As for the Scorpion costume thing, I liked both the MKvsDC one and the one for this game, so I'm cool whichever way it goes.

This. I'm really excited that MK has this kind of financial help, that they con go ahead and afford a pretty well known rock band's song. This only means that we can expect the same level of quality from now on. And about they voice actors, I can't wait to see who they use. For sure they can afford real professionals.

Also pointing out in a part of the video, there was a character on top of someone and just beating the shit out of them, just punching them in the face. That was brutal.

Something like this should have been released before E3.They need to take some leassons from capcom and do what they do.

So Disturbed is good because they play big stages? Like, really big stages? The same stages that the Jonas Brothers, Nickelback, and Lady Gaga play on? Those stages? Cause it sounds like those are the stages you're talking about. Did you mean those stages? Did you? Did you?

Disturbed is not metal. That doesn't make them bad. Peter Gabriel is not a metal artist. He's still amazing.


Pantera: yes. Everyone else: no. Maiden and Priest aside, those bands fall into different subgenres anyway. Metallica is Thrash metal and Pantera is blues-driven post-thrash.
Distrubed is grunge-inspired nu-metal if there ever was such a thing. I repeat: that does NOT make them bad. It just makes them different. Yes, Iron Maiden is the gold standard for what it means to be metal, but Disturbed has consciously separated themselves from that school of thought. Melodic vocals aren't going to tie them back to the category by any means.

Death Metal artists may not sing clearly like Rob Halford or Bruce Dickinson, but their guitar parts by far carry more of the technicality and epic quality of the 80s metal spirit. The same is even more true of Black Metal such as Emperor/early CoF or Melodic Death such as In Flames and Dark Tranquillity.

If Disturbed wants to convince me they're a metal band, they can start playing dual harmonies and write 8-10 minute epics.

Im going to stay on topic and end this discussion. The point is just that those two bands fall under the same genre, just because you dont think so doesnt change shit.
