I honestly wouldn't worry about Sub-Zero's future in regards to his humanity. He's too much of an MK icon to permanently convert into a robot .

Not officially, but we know Cyber Smoke isn't playable due to the fact that Boon asked the fans if they wanted him as DLC. Given that Sheeva wasn't on the list and was later confirmed as playable by Lupinko vindicates that Boon's twitter poll was genuine.

So saying that a what-if Cyber-Sub is playable but a canonical Cyber Smoke is not just doesn't add up.

Also why does everyone hate this? Who cares is Sub Zero is Cyber. We called this happening back at E3 and it makes sense since they LK wanted him as a Cyborg but he escaped. Since we know some of the events are changed Sub Zero was probably turned Cyborg while Sektor managed to escape. This also confirms 4 hidden fights in arcade mode which is AWESOME. I am gonna try low kicks and Down + Start on every fight now lol

Also, @Temp, Cyber Sub Zero COULD be awesome if handled well. Ther ehave been many examples in this thread of creatives methods of introducing this character. Cyber Subbie could be very interesting.

In what way is it a bad idea to change an existing character after 15+ years? If anything it stops the series from getting stale and repetitive.

Why couldn't the MK team leave MK's past storylines alone? This time travel thing is one of the worst things to happen to the series. Reboots suck, because they do nothing but REHASH OLD ideas under the idea it is something new, when it is not.

I don't understand all the complaining. Cyber Sub will just be another charcter along with all the other ones. If you don't like him, don't use him. Regular sub is in the game too, so no needs to get your panties all bunched up. Lets remember folks this is a re-telling of the MK3 events. When time travel happens shit gets messed up.
