Okay,so we have Sareena,Tanya and other post-UMK3 characters threads,so I decided to make one for this guy, because I didn't see any about him.
So...First of all,do you want Reiko to be DLC? If it is yes, then why? If is no,then again, why?
If you want him in,what do you want NRS to do with him? Which klassic moves to include? Which new moves does he need,if he needs at all?
What about costumes? Do you want MK4 ninja costume or MKA General outfit?
Well,me personally,I want him in the game very much, but I will write about movelists later...

Yes, because he's one of my fave Post-MK3 characters and he's pretty mysterious, and I'd like to know more about him-Who was he before he joined the Brotherhood of Shadow, why does he want Quan Chi dead, what is his obsession with Kahn's helmet, that sort of thing.
Whatever moves they give him, just don't make him into a Noob Saibot clone yet again. But if Noob doesn't have the throwing stars, I suppose Reiko can use them.
Since most costumes seem to be fusing classic and 3D era looks together, maybe a combo of his ninja gear and general armor.

Meh. Not the biggest fan of him, though he is a notch above Jarek.

Reiko is one of the most popular characters in MK4, so yes, because in MK4, the rating for Reiko was 9.50. So he is popular.
Don't get me wrong, because Kai will be in DLC, and I want him in DLC.

Look at him...
That's one badass hunk of a man. How can you not like him?
But seriously, I've always liked him, ever since I tried MK4 for the first time. Though his outfit resembled Sub-Zero's, he was still quite unique in his approach. The facial tattoos... Man, I remember how everyone thought this was Shang Tsung, as they resemble the tattoos Shang had in MK3. But then came his ending, and then everyone thought he was Shao Kahn.
Those were the days.
I loved what they did with him in MK Armageddon. He had elements to his outfit that is somewhat like Shao Kahn's, hinting to the whole "Reiko is Kahn" rumour, but again, still unique enough to be its own design. He looks hardcore! And his hairstyle is so awesome. I love the undercut-ponytail look, and that white streak in his hair is sexy as hell.
I'd like to see that connection they tried to hint at between him and Sareena. They were both part of the Brotherhood of the Shadows and bears the logo, they both have those facial tattoos, the white streak of hair... Too bad the connection was never turned into something cool.
I'd like to see them return, supporting Quan Chi...
Like Jade, Reiko's past is hidden in the shadows. There's hints to that he was originally an Outworldian, fighting for Shao Kahn, but then died and was recruited by Quan Chi... So there's another connection that could be made.
Reiko has every potential in becoming an interesting character. He already got a badass look and some killer moves. So why not?
I vote for Reiko as DLC character.

If Quan Chi can be outside the Netherrealm and be upfront on the stage where everything happens this early on, then so can Reiko and Sareena.

Good post,J-R.
In future games,I would like NRS to give some kind of rivalry between Reiko and Noob Saibot,I think that would be cool, because Sub-Zero as the only rival of Noob is getting kinda boring.
Relationship with Sareena is another thing that I wanted for him to be explained.
And of course, the reason WHY he hates Quan Chi.Is it because just NOBODY likes Quan Chi or is it something on personal level?
As for looks,I liked the MKA attire, but not entirely, especially the hair.I would like some kind of mix between his MK4 and MKA outfits.
As for moves,I think, shoryukens should be his trademark weapon, not Noob Saibot's.Couple other unique moves won't hurt him too,but I kinda undecided yet what to add to him.

Not sure about him dethroning Shao Kahn and all is a good thing for NOW,I just don't think he YET has this kind of charisma to be a new Emperor of Outworld, but we will see.I think they just need to show us what kind of man he is and then,I think, they will do something interesting about him.0
One possible idea I had for his hatred of Quan Chi was that Reiko has feelings for Sareena and despises Quan for his treatment of her. Maybe not entirely the whole reason, but it's a start.

MKA (and Deception a bit) made me like Reiko.
In MK4 he was the most bland character I've ever seen. Back then he had essentially no back story or motivations, and was just "there" to me. On top of that, I dislike his MK4 look. So if you asked me back then, I would have told you I hated Reiko.
However, once MKA/MKD decided to portray him as the jealous, underhanded, general of Kahn, I began to like him. Now hes not just a "ruthless general" hes a backstabbing piece of scum, and thats why the character has become cool. His MKA outfit was very cool to me as well, but I'm not opposed to another redesign. I think the greysreaks in his MK4 hair is cool, but they gotta de-puff his hair...big time.
But yeah, I'd like Reiko as dlc.

Oh, I forgot to mention...
The dialogue he has with Taven in MKA Konquest mode shows that he's not just some ruthless brute. He's intelligent, a tactician, and he knows when and when not to strike.
It adds to his character. ^^

Agreed, and it also led to my favorite line in the game:
Taven: "As a rule, I don't ally myself with egotistical madmen."
Also, Jaded-Raven, right when I scrolled down to your pic of Reiko, this song hit the 0:34 mark

Made him ten times more badass, I think.

First of all, it's Reiko, not Reiki.
Second, Noob was still very much playable in MK4 and MK Gold.
And third, it wasn't Reiko who replaced Noob's slot, it was the MK team who did so. Blaming a character for it is just odd. And hating a character for it is even more so.
I don't like that Quan Chi is in the new MK and Rain is not, however, I don't blame Quan Chi for it and I still think he's a cool character. I'd just rather have Rain take his place in the main roster.

Give him the Flip Kick, Teleport, Shurikens, and the Spin Behind plus some new ones. Classic MK 4 costume and ninja star fatality. Pretty much a carob copy of Reiko from Mk 4 with some added moves.

I like Reiko a lot, always have. I think his Male Brotherhood member look with the Reed Richards sideburns and face tattoos looks cool and his moveset's been one of my favorites since MK4. I always really loved that giant boot to the torso Fatality.
And before MKvsDCU retconned Quan Chi into talking all smug and sophisticated, Reiko in Armageddon Konquest was the only villain who ever treated opponents with civility and intelligence. All the other bad guys in the franchise just kinda yell with hate or are petty little schemers. Reiko sounded like he has some semblance of honor and takes a "meh, no hard feelings" approach when he has to fight somebody.
Plus, the dude has a map room where he strategizes. That makes him the best general in the series by default.

WELL first of all Reiki is an auto-corrected Reiko.
Second, I said he took Noob's slot. Plus he's not a complete character.
And third, obviously, Reiko, a video-game character, is incapable of replacing another character on a roster without the MK team's assistance, but that's like having to put 'in my opinion' before everything subjective.
And as for you, Quan Chi isn't replacing Rain unlike Reiko to Noob!

Of course!
I wasn't very fond of his MKA Outfit, but considering his story, it makes sense.
I would love him to have his shurikens, the teleport, the Torso Kick Fatality...
that was one of my favorite MK4 Fatalities...
So, I Welcome Reiko To MK9 but he has Next game to impress us...as well as Shinnok will pwn everybody in Next Game...Oh Yeah.

You don't auto-correct a name like that. *facepalm*
And to respond on your last line, that was my point exactly! Quan Chi is NOT taking Rain's place, and Reiko was NOT taking Noob's place in MK4.
I don't know what you mean with Noob not being a complete character in MK4. He had moves, he had fatalities, he even had two alternate outfits.
