The Devastator made Reiko more unique, it distinguished Reiko away from Khan quite a bit, plus it called "The Devastator" seriously Reiko was already pretty friggin' bad-ass in Armageddon, adding that sword to his arsenal was the icing on the cake, him getting the "Crude Hammer" ruined that for me. Plus giving it to Fujin was rediculous

To be honest, I didn't care too much for Reiko when he was introduced in MK4. His hair and clothes made me think of him as some random middle-aged guy in a maroon ninja outfit. But his Armageddon redesign made a fan out of me. He looked amazing in that game.

Starscream's a terrible comparison. Shang Tsung is the Starscream. He's the one who always schemes and whines and fails.

The Devastator wasn't just any random sword,it was a fucking huge jet-black two-handed bastard sword with runes engraved on it. It was an awesome weapon,extremely fitting for a general.

The fact that they took it away from him and gave him the hammer was A-grade horseshit. The ONLY person in the MK universe who should wield a warhammer as his primary weapon is Shao Kahn. Maybe also Raiden,but I'd much rather see him stick to his staff instead.

Anyway I like Reiko and I assume he will be a big player in the future installments of MK. Not much is known about him but that will change with time. He has ties to Top levels in the Netherrealm as well as Outworld and will soon be Khans right hand man. Well depending on Khans fate in MK since I haven't read all the spoilers. If Khans survives and I am sure he will I want to know more about him before Reiko attempts a takeover. And we need Reiko to play it out properly and be a loyal General that pits everyone against Khan seeing as I don't think he can do it himself. I think it would be cool to see Reiko go from a Cool, Calm, Genius Intellect servant that becomes Ruler by propaganda and treason. But eventually becomes paranoid because he knows all his servants are backstabbers. I call it the Stalin effect.

Reiko is probably my favorite post 2D MK character.
