Raiden (obviously).

He is much more iconic and interesting than Kabal ever was. Besides, he is a god of lightining, my favorite (super) power.

I liked how Raien was portrayed in MK9. Instead of being boring ifallible god, he was very human-like and it was easier to empatize with him. Most of his decisions were justified and given how human-like he was in the game he was prone to desperation. I liked that. I like my heroes being flawed, rather than perfect and wise 24/7.

From design standpoint Raiden was always much more stylish and interesting. His absolute best costumes were in MKDA. Kabal kind of had the same costume in each game with minor differences here and there.

Gameplay-wise, Raiden is very good in MK9, while Kabal is a bit jerky. So there is only one choice for me: Thunder God. It's not even a competition.

Also, while I am not saying that the last poll was rigged, delay was very convenient and basically helped Cage won. Maybe mods tried to not let another bunch of whiners and trolls resurface after Jade's win?

Still my favorite character by far. Cool dark humored personality, passive aggressive attire, possessing control of the most violent phenomena known to man, electricity. ahh yes, Raiden.

They really do need to stop writing him as an ill-informed moron though. smh.... As for moves and stuff, the biggest single disappointment with him is that his fatalities always suck. They could get a little more creative/fun with his in-game specials too but, I really have no glaring complaints there.

I also like how he's positioned in most all the games. I'm hoping for a real light show out of Raiden in the next game considering how MK9 ended. Especially if the events of MK4 influence MK10 at all. That and....well... video game technology is ready for authentic looking in-game lightning now.

Okay.. Obviously? Alright. That's kind of an insult to people that actually like Kabal.

Kabal is the best character in MK9.. Not jerky. Other then dash cancels, I don't know what you mean by that, Raiden is also a good character but has slow normals. Teleport is the best in the game, though.

I think Kabal is a somewhat original character based on costumes and special powers. Who else can summon a buzzsaw? Atleast he wasn't some shitty palette swap. The team actually tried to add some originality.

His costumes aren't that different tbh, he has had pretty much the same look in all the games. But I really liked how they matched up Kabal's second costume to look similar to Stryker's 1st. Colors/alt colors are really similar. Stryker = Blue/black, Black/Brown, Kabal = Blue/White, Black/Khaki.

And of course Raiden was more iconic then Kabal was, he was one of the first characters. Kabal was only in 4 fucking games. I'm not mad, just a bit irritated.

I voted for Kabal, my favorite character.

Both characters are in my Top 10. Raiden used to be my 3rd favorite character, but MK2011 hurt him in my eyes so he fell down my list. Still, I like his design and the costume from his MKD render is one of my all time favorites in the franchise. I like his powers and special moves, although I think they could have done a better job (visually more impressive) in MK2011. I never played MKvsDC, but he seems like ton of fun to play as and is visually very impressive in that game. He also always has fantastic win poses, his MK4 one is probably my favorite.

Anyway, long story short, I still like the good ol' foo. I like him a lot. I just have a weak spot for Raidumb, even though I'm currently slightly angry at him.

As for Kabal, I like his design and appreciate the stand-out look. I also love the hookswords, my 2nd fave weapon in MK behind Kitana's fans. I might have voted for Kabal, but due to him being an overpowered ba$tard in MK2011 and Raiden arguably ending up unjustly overnerfed, my sympathy goes to Raiden.

So what happened?

So Jade would have won if the mods had ended the poll when it was supposed to be ended? Hmm.

I'm voting for Raiden, He Killed Liu Kang. That is all.

I'm voting for Kabal. I know I listed Raiden as one of the characters I'd want to win, but I didn't expect him to go up against Kabal.

Besides, my only hope now is Kitana.

Let me just break this entire Round 3: Kabal v. Raiden down-

Riaden, the Thunder God, spoken of only in legend until MK1and such, a master of the arts of fightig, among his control over the element of electricity. Wise over all measure, his intense strength has lead Earthrealm to victory countless times, but he has made very ignorant decisions from the get go. Because of him, warriors like Sub-Zero, Kung Lao (FTW), and Kitana are dead, and he lives with the consequence-but he was only doing his job. He protected Earthrealm from Tsung, Kahn, and others. He did not defeat the Dragon King just the same- tyring to do his job, and he was killed on the job. so he basically changed from good to sub-Evil/Neutral.

Kabal, a master warrior who was strong enough to suvive an attack from the Extermination Squads. His hookswords have shown he is an intense and trained warrior who can easily manipulate his blades with strong attacks. He gained the ability of super-speed, so he could easily go as fast as lightning and defend against it. But his health and odd gameplay provide obtacles. He needs a machine to breathe, so that can easily be blown aside and he would suffocate. Hs moves are somewhat hard to truly master and control, a little too hard o control sometimes, but he has many accomplishments in his corner.

My opinion- neither could win, an even tie should be the result. But, being supposedly stronger, my vote goes to...
RAIDEN!

Oh, and I voted Raiden obviously.

Another tough matchup. Raiden is one of my all time favorite characters from a story perspective, as he always seems to be a large part of what happens. Even when he's making mistakes, I've always thought that he's been a good character to focus on. Plus, ya know. Hat.

But from a gameplay perspective? I dunno, I'm always glad to see him in games, and yet I'm never overly compelled to use him for some reason.

I think that his regular moves have become a bit stale, and his fatalities are always kinda weak, but his look has always been top tier for me. As evinced by hat.

As for Kabal, he is the only new character that I liked in MK3. But he was the freakin MAN in that game. His move list is weird, and while I'd like to see it expanded upon, I like that it's a little out there. His hookswords are awesome, his look is perfect and unique... He's also one of my favorite characters.

But story wise, he always seems to be on the periphery. Never overly important. I do like that he's had a sort of wandering swordsman quality to him, but I hated his MK:D plot of reforming the Black Dragon, as I'm sick of that whole plotline and have been for some time.

I'd rather they make him a reluctant good guy, a sort of masked anti-hero, but that's just me. Still, I see a lot of potential in him, whereas Raiden has really met his potential and then some (in my opinion).

Two fantastic characters, both look awesome. One great for story but missing a bit in gameplay, the other is fun to play as but still has potential for better story: I voted for Kabal.

PS: Really wish Jade would've won the last round. I think that she had it locked up, but oh well. Maybe she didn't. Who knows. Either way, she's an awesome character who took an MK original to the limit. So that was nice to see. Good job greenykins!

If she really did lose because of the overtime, it really bothers me, but I can't remember who was actually winning when it went over anyway. I think it was Jade, because I remember coming on here at some point in the early morning hours and seeing it, but *shrug*. Whether it was Johnny or Jade, it's still irritating that the rounds can be delayed at random, deciding the win for a match that's been nearly 50/50 the entire time.

Dude, just drop it already. We need to get over the Cage-Jade dispute, and someboy bellyaching that their favorite character didn't win is weak. IMO, the time doesn't matter, more people liked Cage than Jade. I voted for Jade after voting stopped, and that didn't matter, now did it? Blacksaibot, GET OVER IT! Cage won because more people liked him, period. If he got more votes, than it doesn't matter. (does anybody understand what I just said?)

Kabal obviously.

I like both characters but Kabal just has that cool factor. His powers are awesome, his gameplay is fast paced and great.

Raiden however, screwed up time. Not intentionally, but he fucked up big time. And while some say he was portrayed in a more human aspect, I say he was portayed as a bumbling idiot.

Raiden had cool gameplay, but his fatalities were weak.

Raiden, I always liked his design and gameplay. Kabal always looked a little silly to me, but was fun to play as too. But the pig tails... the pig tails lol

This, 200% except Raiden is in my top 5. Even though he slipped he showed that the Elders are not perfect. He became a great character in MK9

I've always thought Kabal was supposed to be this extremely evil dude back when he first came out. Of course, I was just a kid back then, so I didn't know any better. Found out games later, he's actually kinda on the good side and now in this game, he really is a good guy.

With Raiden, his ending in the first MK game gave me the impression that he was evil, of course, I was a bit older than two when I read his ending. Yes, I started playing video games when I was two. Then out of nowhere, he disappears after the second game and doesn't show up until the fourth, for reasons I know why.

Kabal. Raiden was a major "Herp Derp" in Story Mode and indirectly got the Heroes killed off .__.
