@Scar_Subby Agree, Noob should keep being Noob instead of Sub-Zero. Put Kuai Liang out of that fridge and give him his human body (and find any excuse to put the scar back on his eye, I don't care how they give him it back but I want it).
Noob being Bi-Han was a great twist and Kuai Liang had the richest story development of all characters and he deserves to have it again. He was the only character that needed zero changes and was the one that was changed the most for the sake of surprise, so I hope it was just them wanting to surprise us and they reverse it after that.
I also hope we get all characters back including the DLC ones (except the guest characters and the unplayable ones) and then add the new ones (Sareena, Drahmin, Tanya, etc...). Like Tekken has been doing, adding characters to the roster without eliminating anyone as that' good to keep increasing your material and stablishing a tournament picture.
There is a difference between what happened in Armageddon (bum!! all these characters that haven't been in this enviroment ever all at the same time!!) and doing it like Tekken, keeping the characters you have with their moveset and some tweaks here and there and then adding characters each game, as that iterative process keeps the balance going and keeps everyone's loved characters in the game.

Wonder if Saibot could somehow became transported to the Heavens via the Soulnado, and his body was restored. We'd have no Noob (theoretically, unless they split personalities or something), but it'd be a hell of a mindjob to have Bi-Han back as Sub.

what if this did happen and we still get noob but he comes back all white and as a good guy too.

I just want Sareena, and I want her to have a chapter if they go that route again. I think she will be responsible for freeing Kuai Liang. I think she will confuse him for the Sub-Zero who once helped her and try to help him in return. I'm thinking Quan Chi's inner sanctum (that's just my theory). Look it up, it could work.
Once freed, She along with Kuai Liang could join the forces of light.
Sareena can be a really good character though. Forget Kia and Jataaka though. I say storymode cameo's, but nothing else. Unless it's a Noob-Smoke pairing.
I also want Havik to yank Noob Saibot out of the soulnado. Since Noob wants to rule the netherrealm, that would inadvertently make Noob Saibot fight for the side of good. Plus, Havik would LOVE the chaos that ensues from Noob trying to overthrow Shinnok.
Also, I want the woman in Jade's ending to bring her back. Out of all the endings I thought her's practically gave her a get out of death free card.
The three who should return from the dead are Sub-Zero, Jade, and Smoke. Smoke shouldn't really return so much as accept the fact that he's a demon. He can have the struggle to let the demon take over him, or fight for his humanity (sounds familiar for him huh?)

At the end of the day I'm hoping this game has a very dark and evil feel and look to it. I want it to be the "Deception" to MK9 for lack of better words and considering we're celebrating ten years of Deception, it would be cool to have a brand new game with a similar tone. But if they really are planning on basing this around the plot of MK4 then I'm sure it'll be dark regardless. Woo!
I'm somewhat excited for the story, but sorry guys, MK9 and Armageddon both turned me off in the story department. So I'm no longer one of those people who are more excited for story mode or the plot than anything else. Hopefully this game will change my mind and really show me some brilliant story telling but meh...after MK9 I doubt it.
I'm praying gameplay is similar to MK9 of course, I think changing things too much would be a big mistake, especially when everyone agreed that MK9 was the step in the right direction.

2. Theoretically, Noob is dead. There should be no SPLIT personality, because Bi-Han is Noob Saibot. His evil consumed him once in the netherrealm. Quan chi used his own evil to create him. So, in my book that sucks. While Sub-Zero is my favorite hero, Noob Saibot is my favorite villain. Plus, all of the story possibilities of good vs evil brother have barely even been touched upon.
3. I am one of those people who see Kuai Liang as Sub-Zero completely. I also think the twist of Bi-Han being Noob Saibot is one of the best in the series. Especially when you look back as far as MK4 to see hints that it had been planned. These two are established characters. If they wanted Sub-Zero to be Bi-Han then they just should have had Scorpion spare his life in MK 9. It didn't happen though.

If you look at Saibot's Armageddon ending (which, like most of Armageddon's endings, is admittedly lackluster), they reference a 'divided soul' and an internal conflict. So at the very least, the possibility of there being a split personality of some kind has been touched upon. It's not impossible.
IIRC it wasn't planned as far back as MK4; It was fan input that prompted the team to settle on Elder Sub being Noob because the fanbase had noticed things like Noob and Sub 1 never being in the same game together; Sub 1 being one of the only characters who remained dead for years, Classic Sub's UMK3 ending hinting at an alternate identity, and MK4's one-button fatalities for Noob being Sub's. In the end, they decided they liked the conspiracy theories so much they went ahead and made it canon - bringing closure to Elder Sub's story and giving Noob a way to stand out rather than being generic ninja soldier #810.
I'm ambivalent about who takes up the Sub-Zero role. Kuai Liang has been Sub-Zero for most of my history with MK, but I was around near the beginning, around to actually be surprised when I finished MKII with Sub for the first time and saw that Sub was more of a good guy in that iteration. I remember a time when we had those Malibu comics that featured Elder Sub for the entire run as a neutralish assassin figure just out to complete a job (Really, seeing him win Kahn's medallion at the end while burning alive was the best part of those comics).
I've grown attached to Kuai Liang as Sub. But I remember those days and think it might be really interesting to have a Sub-Zero back who's a proper assassin again with no regard for taking sides. I mean, they've already gone so far off the beaten path...why not keep exploring?

But the Armageddon endings were almost unanimously poorly written and either complete non-sequiturs for the character (Kintaro kills four people and gets their powers made into swords...why? What does that have to do with Kintaro's personality or story?) or actively OUT of character (Kira and Kobra are suddenly in love with each other instead of happy to fight and kill one another to prove themselves to Kabal).
It's like Vogel KNEW the endings could never be picked up on and continued into the next game, that they were going to reboot and disregard everything, so he made them shitty on purpose because he didn't care enough to put effort into something that wouldn't count.
There's nothing that deserves to be treated as actual canon that suggests being Noob isn't Bi-Han's true nature. In fact, the entire plot of Mythologies is "You are a bad person and you're going to Hell when you die, Bi-Han."
I also want to point out to Icebaby that, when the MK2011 demo got hacked, I was the first one to find the storymode content and post the leaks on this board, and I MADE SURE that the thread HAD a spoiler warning in the title AND I used spoiler tags in every post so WHAT is the deal with the whining about being spoiled? I think the same :D This is my main theory of what should happen with Sub-Zero and Sareena, posted before on other threads:
- As Noob is missing, Quan Chi thinks that it would be super sweet to make Kuai Liang follow Bi-Han's footsteps.
- He gifts him with recovering his human body, and then asks him to finish Scorpion for him. Quan Chi is starting to think that Scorpion is having doubts and if he discovers the truth, then he becomes a problem. As Kuai Liang had unfinished business with him, restoring his humanity and then asking him to destroy his nemesis is like 2 gifts instead of a gift and asking a favor.
- Sareena knowing what happened with Bi-Han, reaches Kuai Liang and tells him this is a plan to taint his soul so he can be corrupted by Quan Chi.
- Sub-Zero defeats Scorpion but spares him and Scorpion discovers the truth (leading to a later chapter chasing Quan Chi).
- Sub-Zero and Sareena scape Netherrealm and it's time to take the Lin Kuei so they can use its forces in the fight against Shinnokh (or at least stop them from being a problem so the forces of light can focus on the real problem).
- Sektor reveals that he used Bi-Han's remains (extracting ADN from the shattered bones or something) to make a new Cyber Sub-Zero, just to torture Kuai Liang making him fight his own brother, leading to a 2 vs 2 battle of Sub-Zero and Sareena agains Sektor and Cyber Sub-Zero.
- After the match is over, Noob Saibot in a later instance discovers the remains of what used to be his mortal body and reprograms it, like he reprogrammed Cyber Smoke in the original timeline, only that this time both characters on that duo together make a whole being (body and soul of Bi-Han).
I think this solution gives us the Kuai Liang that we love and in case anyone wanted to play as Cyber Sub-Zero, they will still have that option, only that it won't be Kuai Liang. It also resumes the Sareena and Sub-Zero story which I think has a lot of potential.
You'll never hear me deny that the Armageddon endings were terrible, or that any of them should influence storytelling (EXCEPT PLANET SMOKE WHICH SHOULD TOTALLY EXIST IN DC COMICS AND START EATING PLANETS YOU GUYS). All I'm saying is that...it exists. It's a thing Vogel considered and wrote, regardless of any later intentions he did or didn't have for it, clearly it's something he thought about, perhaps on a whim, perhaps not. If they wanted to go down that path, well, there's the seeds.
I love Bi-Han as Noob. It's a great and logical path for the character. But a few years' distance from this series has given me a bit of objectivity (or apathy), and I think I'd be okay with him coming back as Sub. That's all. I could go either way.

Well I don't see any good reason to pretend that anyone stays dead or keeps "cyber" in their name forever, and renaming Kuai Liang to "Tundra" in-game would just be dumb. If the creators at all know what they're doing (which is debateable, and that's what worries me...) then logically, the name "Sub-Zero" is permanently taken, Bi-Han can't have it back.
Plus, Noob has a popular moveset, you can't lose that now that the games are trying to be competitive-friendly.

I think this time around NRS will be consistent with gameplay.
Considering MK9 was in fact a reboot, I think they aim to establish an official premise of the series from MK9 onward. Hopefully the mechanics do in fact remain.

I agree that Mileena should be brought back. She has a lot of story potential left. I mean she could be Queen of Outwotld now. Whatever she does, I'm sure it will be good.
I feel differently about Baraka though. He's a punching bag. He, along with Sheeva and Reptile, should take a break. I have a soft spot for Reps so I want him as DLC, but even as a fan I don't think he warrants a main roster spot.

The three who should return from the dead are Sub-Zero, Jade, and Smoke. Smoke shouldn't really return so much as accept the fact that he's a demon. He can have the struggle to let the demon take over him, or fight for his humanity (sounds familiar for him huh?)

This. I want Sareena in because she's one of my favorite female MK characters and her story has potential. Since this story is focusing on the Netherealm and what not she might have some relevance since she can join Raiden's side. She was freed from Shinnok's and Quan's control already IIRC

I can confirm that thats definately not shangTsung, he looks way different now that is true, but not like that, he wears all yellow pants with a snake symbol on the back, and has a pony tail, with some sort of shoulder pads made out of snake heads.

There were plenty of threads with proper spoiler warnings, including yours (not that I remember, but I'm taking your word for it.)
I think people are referencing the people that would leave those threads and post spoilers in other, non-spoiler threads.

Honestly I agree that most dead characters should stay dead. The only one's I see with a chance of returning as playable characters, are Sub-Zero, Noob Saibot, and maybe Smoke. Aside from that I believe that the others should and will stay dead. They can be in the story-mode as Quan Chi minions and what not, and they can even be freed by the end of the game, but do not include them as playable. Maybe some can come back as DLC, like the popular ones like Kitana and Liu Kang. I also think there will be a good amount of the MK9 living roster that should return too. The way I see it, we will probably get an initial roster of 26 with maybe 2 unlockables making it 28. This is who I think will be the playable roster next game.

Raiden
Johnny Cage
Sonya
Kenshi
Kai
Fujin
Cyrax
Sektor
Scorpion
Reptile
Ermac
Noob Saibot
Quan Chi
Mileena
Baraka
Kano
Tanya
Reiko
Bo' Rai' Cho
Rain
Skarlet
Sheeva
Havik
Smoke
Drahmin
Sareena
Sub-Zero and Shinnok as Unlockable
Unplayable Bosses
Moloch
Goro
That seems like a legit list XD Take out Sheeva though

Dude, no one is going to believe anything you have to say, unless you come up with some physical proof. Sure, if you think this is fun to pretend you know something the rest of us don't, then by all means continue doing so. But it will just end up with everyone hating you, EVEN if it turns out to be true, because no one likes a smartass.
Enjoy your fun though, no harm done.

We tried it with you and you're still here.
Clearly, it doesn't work.
Anyhoo, I'm starting to become quite uncertain with how MK10's roster will come out.
If the all the dead characters do remain dead, there will be a lot of characters coming in to fill the places, and they could come from anywhere, be it MK4 or Deception. Due to this, it makes it much harder to tell if MK10 will actually encompass MK4, or will only briefly go through it.
The wait is killing me!
