Just speculating is all, I don't have any definitive proof that this is NRS' plans, just like most everyone else here.

Remember though, the NRS team has said that during this 25 year span Outworld will experience multiple rulers rising and then falling from power. Kotal Kahn has been mentioned as one of those rulers, but that doesn't mean Mileena may or may not rule Outworld before or after Kotal.

Also, you are right that these two characters have other higher priorities outside of their rivalry. However, because Kitana will be resurrected and, if Mileena is still alive in the future, do you really believe these two will not duke it out once one finds out about the other's existence? They both present threats to one another for their, like you said before, "higher priorities".

You could be right and we could see something like MKDA, where Kitana was in the game but no Mileena and Kitana joined up with Kung Lao to fight against the Deadly Alliance. I'm not sure NRS will recycle this same plotline, but then again I had zero expectation that NRS would have revealed both the previously deceased Kung Lao and Kitana as playable characters in this upcoming game.

After watching it over n over.... Yeah i really really like her new look. And the lil dialog she has... I like her attitude.... Ive never hated Kitana but never been a Kitana player.... Im not sold yet but im looking forward to checking out more gameplay from her. Big thing caught my attention gameplay wise is that she appears to have a command dash move that reminds me of Reptiles elbow dash.... Also i think she has a downward angle fan throw you can combo off of which increases her zone game from mk9.... The potential to combo off of any successful fan throw from any distance possibly makes me interested.... Dont forget there wilk be the run button but i think a command dash probaboy will still be better to use as a tool to close distance and keep up the pressure.... Basically her new look really appeals to me whereas before i always thought she looked off, and the thought of the potential i maybe able to play her similar to my fav mk9 Reptile but with even better zone capability and air game, well i must say from what ive seen does appeal to my play style but im not sold and need to see a lot more from her......

As for Kung Lao.... The more i see the less i care... Dont hate him personally but im not a Lao player andim still not into his play style..... Also he does look like he will be a pain in the ass again but maybe wont be so bad we will see....

All in all, Kano and D'Vorah are still who im most interested in at the moment.

Kitana looks incredible! This game wouldn't be the same without her. Based on her dialogue with Quan Chi, I can tell her importance to the story of MKX is massive. So excited about this because her previous portrayal in MK9 was not the best.

Netherealm realized in MK9 that Kitana is not just another female character. Kitana is the face of the franchise in the female department. Not only that, she is incredibly popular with fans so she HAD to be included. I can argue that she is just as essential as Lui Kang, Raiden and the other few characters behind Scorpion and SubZero.

I am sure that Mileena will also be in MKX. I am dying to see what their relationship is. Kitana's inclusion into MKX guarantees a spot for Mileena since she did not die in MK9.

Finally the Edenian Princess is receiving the justice that her important role deserves.

I just realized that Kitana's hair is most likely bunned up to avoid hair physics after all that bitching about it in the last game. That's pretty funny. They really addressed everything that people felt wrong about her previous model.
With that said, I'm sure her face is just fine...but then again, they probably might avoid giving her an unmasked version for an alt.
