Story mode thus far is badass.

I really don't get what the uproar is that revenant Sub Zero isn't in cyber mode? Quan Chi has possession of the souls of the fallen earth realm warriors, not their bodies. So technically, MK9 had it wrong when the scene had Raiden fighting Quan Chi's revenants in the Netherrealm, Sub Zero's soul was human and his form should've reflected his human form instead of being cybernetic.

As far as the movesets go for Johnny Cage, not sure what to think of the Stunt Double one. Clearly took it from Noob Saibot, idk it's going to take some getting used to just like Kitana's mournful Jade variation.

when you put it that way i'm all for it. I still doubt that they will do it that way, they will probably not tell us the entire roster until release even though we know it. Once again teasing us into thinking that there may be more characters, like the story unlockables only to be disappointed when it's Liu Kang or some shit.

When I first saw that scene, I was busting out laughing because of how creepy it looked initially, but thank you for pointing that out. Not sure if NRS intentionally did it as such an ode to the first movie, however looking back at it, sure makes alot of sense.

Raiden's intro with Johnny threw me. He basically said to Johnny, "GTFO, no one wants you around ever."

They said in the stream yesterday that not all intros are "canon"; some are just for fun. It seems that just about all intros involving Johnny are just for fun, which fits his character really.

Apart from the Story mode which was pretty damn cool..i was a little underwelmed by the stream this time..it looked rushed...and they didnt show JC`s fatality and X-ray move...but im gonna by this game on day 1 nevertheless

And all team members looked very tired. They must be in the sleepless week before the game goes gold. So I can forgive them for the latest lackluster stream.

What I won't forgive them is:

- being douchebags about the un-confirmation,

- using the same old demo build with so many confirmed characters not appearing on the SS,

- choosing the same two or three stages over and over again. If their goal is to make me tired of the kove, the marketplace, the forest and the city ruins, well... mission accomplished! I honestly suspect that there's something wrong and glitchy in the other stages.

You gotta see it from their eyes though, despite literally EVERYBODY being frustrated in the fandom at this point.

- They like their jokes, and they love joking about characters that get a lot of shit. I honestly thought Mokap being a bad-ass in that drawing and them acting like it was such a huge loss for him to be de-confirmed was hilarious.

- I understand it sucks seeing the same build but if its all hands on deck to get the game gold at this point, I understand them not wanting to put effort into it this week (thus only Johnny).

At the end of the day, when they show this game off to people in the media, they're trying to sell a product. But on the streams, essentially they're just sitting back, relaxing and hanging out with their core fans who're already buying this no matter what, thus they can just focus on showing off cool shit and not having to worry too much about pressure, you know? I'm sure as we get into the final couple streams, they're really gonna buckle down and start showing us the rest of the descendants, Mileena (once Derek is back) and stuff like that.

I'll give them a pass this time, it IS crunch time after all.

The only part I didn't like about the story mode, was the fights itself. Did Scorpion and Sub-Zero get any punches in at all? I know it's the first chapter, but come on, that seemed like even a 10 year old could win these fights.

The cinematics were great, the fights were not.

Yeah that sort of bothered me too. But I'm thinking two things:

1) The build makes Story Mode fighting extremely easy so that they could go through it quick for the stream.

2) The difficulty was at the easiest level.

Revenant Jax is still a cyborg. That is invalid.

I agree with one of the posters 100% that one snippet of this story mode was 1000 times better than the whole MK2011 story mode.

Johnny Cage is a complete badass in this game. Always thought he was cool (Shades, energy balls, shadow kicks, nut punches and all) but never cared for him that much. I'm actually considering making him one of my MAINS this time. I have no idea how NRS managed to pull him off this way but they freakin did it man!

And speaking of Shadow Kicks. See the actual SHADOWS following him this time? SICK. About time they brought that animation back, because it's been missing for some time now.

And that winning pose! Johnny Cage scores in almost all areas in this game.

Almost because that "stunt double" variation is a bit disappointing. Fist cuffs please and thank you.

I found the break down of how the story and animations come to life very interesting. Don't know about you guys.

Am I the only one that saw revanent Sub-Zero's mask emitting cold air and though " OMG SMOKE!" lol didn't realize it til he started being all flashy with his ice powers. Either way he looks beyond awesome!

Well to be honest I complained cus I think they should have a set amount of power. It going to be odd when Johnny loses to someone like d'vorah. That is the only reason I complained is cus I'm pretty dam sure people will win fights just cus your playing them.

I did not watch this. NRS has always done this stupid shit...they ALWAYS spoil the ever loving crap out of their games before release. And here they are showing chapter 1 of story mode and blowing up huge spoilers in the story as they go.

Why can't they ever keep their mouths shut? Leave SOMETHING to mystery. They're worse with MKX than they were with MK9...spoiling everyone's fatalities, stories, the story mode chapters...when the hell will they stop? We have less than 30 days to go...I can't even imagine wtf they're going to spoil next.

Pretty sure you're blowing things way out of proportion. It was a 5-6 minute video that took place somewhere in the middle of chapter 1.

Yeah showing story mode was a wise move. It was a very small portion, and if you liked story mode in MK9 there's no way that wouldn't impress you. It's such an upgrade that they couldn't go without showing people how much.
