I'll give you 3 reasons why that's probably not an in-story Fatality:

1. It appears to be a daytime arena but the lighting is way down. Same with Takeda Fatality-fying an armless Torr in the previous snip. The relative lighting level is comparable to the other Fatalities shown so far.

2. That segment of the trailer was a gameplay montage, building up to Jacqui's X-ray and 2 character Fatalities.

3. They are not going to end a big trailer with anything other than a game Fatality. They just don't do it.

I am more excited to see what happened to Nightwolf,Kabal,Stryker and Smoke since these guys are not mentioned or shown AT ALL so far...

That was pretty damn cool! The visuals are so superior to MK9's haha this feels a lot more like an actual movie, diminishing MK9's Story Mode to a cartoon of sorts. Way to step it up.

The focus was almost entirely on the "offspring" characters; I guess that was to be expected. The 25-year-span/next-gen inclusions are, after all, the selling point of the narrative. I'm still not close to sold on these kids, even Cassie; hoping that a run-through of the Story Mode will change my mind. I want to be a fan so badly, I really do! It just hasn't happened, not from gameplay videos, and not from cinematics.

Loved seeing Mileena's comic-book look translated in-game! The bitch sounds PISSED. These speculations of her being the "boss' due to the amulet are interesting; I highly doubt they'd make Mileena the big final threat, however.

Sad to not have seen Sonya, guess I'm on the bench waiting for a while longer.

Also, what's up with possessed/mind-controlled Kitana? I'm guessing that's her in the beginning of the game, during the Shinnok arc?

And finally, a friendly word of caution to everyone screaming "CONFIRMED" in multiple threads across the forum based on reaching glances through frames of the trailer: chill out, don't set yourselves up for disappointment. It's all but certain that there will be cameos in story mode (I believe it's been stated by NRS already?). It's definitely looking like this narrative will be a veritable smorgasbord of MK characters and lore clashing with the oft touted "New Generation", but that fraction is bound to be cut down to size even further when it comes to who gets to interact in-game, as playable characters.

I wouldn't say they aren't going to play a major role just from this trailer. I'm sure the new group will be more of the main focus but the originals will definetly be involved. They just might not want to show what people like Kung or Quan are up too in a trailer.

This story mode is Brilliant. And I thought Injustice story was top shit. This killed it.

I'm syked to see what they do with shinnok. My god. No pun intended.

I'm worried they are gonna screw shinnok. This is the first we've really seen of the story and we already see him get beat. I just really hope he's playable.

-LOVE LOVE LOVE Sub-Zero's alternate uniform. (btw, doesn't his voice sound pretty similar to the voice used for Smoke in MK9???)

-I'm a little disappointed that Shinnok appears to get sucked up into that amulet so early in the game, perhaps he'll return later on the storymode? Raiden's MK1 uniform in that scene was very cool.

-Kung Jin's fatality was great, I feel like the bow and arrow is an under-used weapon in MK franchise, and even with Nightwolf it should've been utilized more with fatalities.

-A little mixed feelings by Takeda's movesets, it does kind of look like Mavado with what appears to be whips. Granted, it was a very brief reveal and I could end up being completely surprised with a more formal reveal showcasing his entire variations and movesets. Regardless, I'm looking forward to him most out of all the new characters based on his seeming importance in the comics.

Something I found interesting in this video...no Quan Chi. I have to believe he will play a pivotal role throughout this story. I still believe he is one of several bosses, if not the Big Bad (or Liu Kang). His absence in the clip was very much noticeable, perhaps he's in the background pulling many strings (and not just Sindel and Kitana's).

Even if a cameo. But dlc later is fine. The fact we got to see him and he looks totally badass made it worth it.

The amulet seems to connect the NR war, OW civil war and this this conflict. I'd be surprised if he's done like that.

The lack of Quan Chi and him getting whooped in several past trailer makes me wonder. Will they be bold enough to do it?

That Kung Jin clip at the end is definitely a fatality. The lighting is very low.

The next stream is going to be fucking amazing! It'll be the last one before the game comes out and I gather we'll be seeing a lot of final changes, including (hopefully) the final roster size and other features like varaiation changes and the such. Can't wait to see the characters announced today feature on the character select screen!

Dude, this! It was his MK3 one, wasn't it? Total nostalgic feel when I saw that; I haven't much cared for Sub-Zero in recent games but I MUST revel in that throwback look. Too awesome.

As for his voice, it sounds graver than Smoke's, as far as I can tell. Or maybe I just can't forget the way Smoke ran in the story, and attribute every other memory to that



Hahaha if that is indeed her, it certainly doesn't qualify as "seeing her", at least in my book After MK9's ending, I would have expected MKX's Story Trailer to at least have a focused close-up of her and Johnny under Raiden's narration, or something along those lines, at the very least. They just blew right over all that shit to get to the *Chef's Voice* children!
