Well MKL has a thread on a possible tourney. He wants to play people, and is wondering who would come? So I guess if this tourney happens, people can see how really good a lot people claim him to be. Go to the thread and see. I know I'd be interested in a MK5 tourney.

MK had 3 world tourneys.........in cali held by players. just like how namco and capcom players r holding EVO 2003 in cali this aug and its called the world championships. will the whole world be there? no. will the winner of T4, MVC2, 3rd strike, etc...be considered the world champion of the game they win? yes.

stop hating on mkl. he is undoubtably better than me which is why i asked for help. however, mkl did not have to put it so bluntly. he could have given me some kind of help. So what if he is a little arrogant? And i do realize that blaze is not that high on the tier list, but tiers are different based on every individual person. For example, its true blaze will never be at the top, but for mkl blaze would be really low, and for me he would be fairly high. if mkl would realize this, he could help me out. with his help, i could bring blaze higher on the tiers.

I would like to clarify tiers. i dont think everyone understands them. A tier list only states the general capabilities of a character. For example, cyrax is low on most tiers. but if someone practiced day and night w/ him, he would not be so low. he would never be #1, but he wouldnt be last either.

its not that i think blaze is #1, but he is a decent character. All three of his stances are rated pretty high. Therefore, he is good enough to be a respectable character. And like i said above, anyone can be at least respectable, even cyrax.

MK2,3 and 4. MK2 was in 94, MK3 ws in 96, and MK4 was in 98. for MK4 there were actually pretty big monthly tourneys in SF. there was a tourney league there for MK4 with a lot of good players.

i already told u, if u r looking for high damage combos, set ups, mix ups, etc then u r playing the wrong character. with blaze what u see is what u get. waht more is there to say.

That would be why I never heard of them. I didn't get a PC until 2000 so I never even knew they existed. Did you win those tourneys?

When I get my new computer it's on. But I won't talk crap until then since the credibility is under your name already. I've won MK2 and MK3 tournaments up here in Minnesota but the turnouts weren't that great so I never really took them seriously.

Blaze isn't that good, but play him if you like him. Hapkido: d+2 is one of his best moves. It hits mid, does ok damage and stuns them long enough for a mix up. When d+2 connects walk up and hit them with a mid attack(u+4,another d+2,cs~2,2,3,3,cs), a low attack( one of the hapkido sweeps or JKD: d+1) or reverse them if you expect them to attack.

Blaze isn't that strong or flashy so when you use him stick with Hapkido: 2,3,cs,2,3,3,cs,1,1,2 for 31% damage.

I been reading your post here. I sort of new but thats besides the point. I am the type of person that uses characters that I like. I am one of the best players at my school. I use Mavado the most(I don't care about how people say he sucks). I use him very well, but have trouble with his second stlye. I notice that the second style doesn't offer much because you have to be close or the attacks are easy to duck. Any sugestions? Oh and a cool joggel with him for his long fist is 2,2,b1,b1,2,2,1(or i believe thats how you do, I'm one of those poeple that can't tell u things off hand unless they're playing the game.

Blaze rocks!!! Yes he does... I meant to post about this before I just didn't have the time to do it.

The first thing I think is good about Blaze, is that his first two fighting styles have taunts. You will get plenty of opportunities to use them in your matches if you think to make them happen.

You can use them safely after these moves... The df+3 "Rush", I think this is the best special move in the game. Its fast, almost no recovery time, very random, knocks your opponent across the arena, and safe to taunt after unless your opponent hits a wall.

You can also taunt safely after any combo using Hapkido: 3,b+1 including juggles. (Hey scorp can do this too!)

I think you guys know the 3 fighting styles so I won't really go into them individually, but I will go into some combos using all of them.

First, my favorite at the moment, Hapkido: 2,3,cs,2,3,3,cs,u+4,1,1,2,b+1 13hit-32%
is one of his stronger combos. You do need to wait a little bit before the U+4 in Xing Yi, then walk forward and finish the combo. In the event that you have your opponent in the corner, or your momentum brings you to it try this 17 hit 46% combo. Hapkido: 2,3,cs,2,2,3,cs,u+4,cs,2,3,cs,2,3,3,4. You will also need to delay the juggling kick in Xing Yi to time this properly. I usually do it when they just come down from the peak of bouncing off the ground.

Try playing with other small combos after the first juggle hit using different fighting styles.

I'd like to emphasize on the df+3 rush. It goes great right after his fireball, and often tricks opponents! It works very well after any tech roll (floor or wall) to get you some room from an agressive opponent, then taunt or fireball. It also seems to take precidence over a lot of attacks, with the exception of Reptile's roll and Sonya's and Kung Lao's flying kicks.

A little on Mokap since I'm on special moves.
He's one of my favorite characters in the game for reasons I've stated here before, and his special moves are one them.

They're all very fast, little or no recovery time, and very short period in which you can't do the same one twice.

db+4, if this gets blocked, then immediately do the rush df+3, or do a back dash (bb) then rush. So, together his three specials can be used in sequences in which your opponent can not hit you!

df+3 is NOT safe and WILL be punished by big damage. u cant abuse it, use it once in a blue moon. blaze is a what u see is what u get character and nothing more. he has no real setups, no big damage(outside of corners), or real mix ups/mind games. thats the way it is take it or leave it. at high level u will find it hard to win with balze. those combos are ok if they connect but if u look at it that way then kitana is good cuz she can to 40% if she connects. however the facts are that most of those combo attempts will be blocked and interrupted so dont poke with them that that often.

LOL, the df+3 rush. thats a good strat if u want to lose. no matter how small the window may be(and it is kinda small as opposed to most other moves but not that small) it is there and vs a good player u will eat big damage for it. balze_rocks u can use that stuff if u want but u wouldnt beat any top player with that stuff. the best thing to do with blaze is use the jab game in hapkido and also poke with 2,2,4. i mean its interruptable ,then again, everything else he has is too but at least this does 14%(not bad damage for a poke), when it hits it forces a 50/50 with any low move or branch when they low block, and most important of all is safe on block. if i were to use a poke thats what i would use. also use hapkido d+2. its safe and when it hits it allows u to follow up with another attack. in JKD play the jab game also and use the sweep occasionally. in Xing Yi also play the jab game but i dont recomend fighting in this stance unless u want to use reversal traps which aslo ties into the jab game.

LOL, idiot, i play all the characters. i dont just play top 5 characters . when i last played i was using a lot of hsu hao and jax. lol, i dont even play anymore, i've been training in T4 for EVO.
