I'm glad Scorpion has his Toasty fatality back, but I started to wonder what happens to Flash at the end of the trailer if it weren't cut short. How will this fatality be implemented in order to sustain the "T" rating?

Would having the Toasty fatality involving a burning skeleton be too much? how about having it blown up afterwards exactly like in MKII?
I would doubt however they would go as far as showing flesh melting off of the victim as they are burning to their death. For MK vs DC, I would like to assume that this fatality would look exactly like MKII's version. Since fatalities are confirmed, I am still debating wether or not they will go into graphical detail. What if they animate it looking exactly like in MK4 where the victim is just burning and the character model is perfect? that would be so stupid especially since they're using real time damage for this game.

What about Liu Kang's fatality in MK4 with the dragon? in this fatality the dragon doesn't bite off the top half of the losers body but instead bites onto the upper body with its teeth and shakes it's head around and slams it into the ground with the body of the victim still intact. Would that be too "M" rated for this game? I am a huge fan of the dragon fatality so I would love for it to at least return in it's MK4 form.

Some fatalities I think that are obvious would be the following for the confirmed characters:

Scorpion: Toasty (confirmed)

Shang Tsung: Soul Steal

Sonya: Kiss of death

Sub-Zero: Freeze uppercut / shatter

Liu Kang: Dragon ala MK4

I wish they showed us at least one complete fatality at E3 so we could get an idea of how far they are pushing the "T" rating with fatalities.

we were discussing how fatalities would work in a T rated game and someone i forget who mentioned that the first MK game was rated T. but i think if they could the esrb would retro actively make the the first MK a M title.

but i figured that with scorpions toasty that the character would simply be set on fire and not burn to a skeleton or explode or anything. maybe the character would run around or fall down screaming while on fire.

They be set ablaze and then turn to ash. Prob have the flaming skeleton added too.

i have to agree with oracle,

They will probably just catch on flames, like when Liu Kang does the third fireball in MKSM.

Fatalities were shown at E3. Hopefully some footage will turn up somewhere in the next few days, if Midway allows it.

Ok, today my questions were answered after seeing Scorpion's fatality in all it's glory from Gamespot and Gametrailers interviews. So the burnt body gets charred and falls over, at least there is detail showing off the body charring. Simple yet effective.

Superman's fatality seems to fit him perfectly IMO. Even though it is almost exactly like Sheeva's.

Now if only they brought back Liu Kang's dragon fatality!!! PLEASE ED PLEASE! Liu Kang's fatalities have sucked for a long time now in the passed few games.

yeah really his body just got kind of cooked but like you said it's simple and effective. i like it more than turning into a skeleton and exploding. i think the T rating will force the dev team to be a little more creative.

i like supermans' too even if it is a rehash of sheevas. but it does suit him.

We have either

Again, don't wanna stifle the conversation here, just looking to direct some traffic and keep things nice and easy to find for everyone.
