Guest Third Party Characters - Yes or No

Not a complete crossover, just one or two third party characters comming into the game. I think it woul be great. Please the cross over fans and still keep all the other fans happy.
Personally, adding in a Street Fighter character would be great. Like how SSBB added in Nintendo's rival, MK could add in it's rival fighter of the old days
So what do you think?

I think that would be great. I know alot of people may dissagree though. I would love to see a Street fighter, or Killer Instinct Character thrown in. Id even take a character from Mace: The dark ages. Any one else remember that game? It was partially owned by Midway. Interesting characters. Street fighter: Akuma, Blanka or Dalsim. Id like to see any of them Killer Instinct: Spinal, Sabre wolf, Jago. Mace: Al Rashid I think any one of those characters would make an interesting addition to the MK universe

Hmm...I guess it depends. I would definitely not want any crossover's as an immediate playable character, rather as an unlockable.

Nah
For now, no. I'll have to see what MK8 looks like first.
That kind of idea so far, contributes to "Pop" culture..."bubble gum", or "Bubbly" is what it rings in my head. Like "Cool if it fits the game's theme(Soul Calibur for ex)" and only cool because the guest character has been "YaY" cool somewhere else already. Yoda, Darth Vader, those characters are what? 25 years old or something like that?
Actually, Spawn would be dope to see in Mk, that character would fit right in. so it depends on the character too I guess.

That would be cool but the thing is they have to get permission from other industries too.

About Me
The future seemed so bright.
But this thing turned out so evil,
I don’t know why I’m still surprised.
Even angels have their wicked schemes,
And you take that to new extremes.
But you’ll always be my hero,
Even though you lost your mind...

Maybe for MK9, but the first MK of this generation should be dedicated to MK and MK alone.

No crossovers, MK has never had it before, why now?

No.
It would have to depend on the style of the next MK game and the guest character. But, for now, I say no.
Guest characters are becoming rather popular and common now-a-days, but I honestly don't like them. They're, honestly, nothing more than gimmicks.
Soul Calibur II popularized it, especially with heavy-hitter Link pushing the Gamecube version over the decent Spawn and lame Heihachi counterparts. But, besides "dimension-jumping" Link, none of them really fit in the Soul Calibur universe.
Soul Calibur III had, as an unlockable costume, KOS-MOS from Xenosaga, which was cool enough for me, since she was nothing more than a storyless add-on.
Soul Calibur IV, however, has Star Wars characters. Now, I'm going to buy the game, because it looks amazing, but I'm still very unhappy with this decision. Star Wars and Soul Calibur are just so monumentally different in terms of art direction, story, themes, execution, and atmosphere that the crossover, to me, feels so painfully shallow and money-hungry.
Dead or Alive IV had a "Spartan" from Halo, Nicole, which was odd enough, but she didn't exactly have a story either, so it was more of a nice nod to Xbox for letting them borrow the look of their mascot, and Halo 3 returned the favor with the Hayabusa armor. It didn't make a whole lot of sense, but then again, I remember fighting a match surrounded by dinosaurs, so the series isn't that serious anyway.
Smash Bros. Brawl, of course, has Snake and Sonic. Everyone knows about that. But while fans are happy for that, it did bring up the issue that, well, the third-party door was thrown open and other, more deserving "greats", such as MegaMan, Bomberman, or even Simon Belmont or Cloud Strife, were left out. Even with the Sonic character, others, like Tails and Knuckles, were excluded. Nintendo's bestselling fighting game will still no doubt please most, but the roster, though larger, has been criticized as feeling "generic", with too many clones characters and very limited guest character presence.
Now we come to Mortal Kombat.
MK, itself, has had cameo appearances in other games, such as Unreal Championship. But I think that the core MK universe, itself, should be developed first before any guest characters suddenly move in an "hog" the spotlight (like Link did in Soul Calibur 2... and now Darth Vader is doing in Soul Calibur 4). I don't see very many characters from other games that fit in easily with MK's style, especially an even more realistic, gritty style.
If I were to throw out suggestions, I'd possibly recommend Fulgore from Killer Instinct, Rayne from Bloodrayne, Kratos from God of War, or possibly Marcus Fenix from Gears of War (if a Spartan can go hand-to-hand, so can he.)

If we're talking about characters that would actually be able to "fit" into MK, then I'd want to see characters that are humans, I'd I'd prefer to leave all of the monsters, robots etc in the past.
For me, MK was always at it's best when it had the Eastern style, "Enter the Dragon" vibe to it. The look of the island in the first MK, even MK:DA had that look in alot of the backgrounds.
So I'd be looking for characters that fit the mold in that regard.
If we're talkin Killer Instinct, than I'd start with Jago and probably end there.
Street Fighter? I dunno, maaaaaybe Vega or Sagat, though they'd have to be reimagined in a grittier sense and not all brightly colored and what not.
That's all I can really think of as far as cross over fighting game characters. No one from Mace (though I suppose El Rashid isn't a bad idea), Fighters History, World Heroes, Samurai Shodown, Weaponlord, Eternal Champions, War Gods, Tao Feng, Kakuto Chojin etc jump to mind, and I wouldn't want anyone from the still living franchises like Tekken, DOA, Soul Calibur etc.
I like the idea of Rayne from Bloodrayne. Marcus Fenix is another good one.
Overall though, I just don't see the benefits of a crossover. If it's an old character from a dead series, half the players might not even remember the character and the other half won't care. If it's from a living series, then it just looks like a cheap stunt and it cheapens the story of the game. I know that sounds kinda anal retentive or whatever, but I don't want to have some plot about dimension jumping or some other lame way of shoe-horning a character into a game they don't belong in.
Give me Jago or give me nothing at all.

Guests would probably ruin Mk franchise for me. So a big NO to any kind of f'n crossover crap. Guests belong to shite games like SF and S.Calibur, not MK.

I agree. It's Mortal Kombat, it just wouldn't feel right with crossover characters. I can't even see how they would be able to make a storyline out of that if they were to use them in Konquest.
