5. Sindel, Nitara, Jade, or Frost as the secret character...

They're the most popular all around, and they can be matched easily with DC characters...

How about the first four to be introduced? Sonya, Kitana, Mileena and Jade. I could do without the rest of them, though I am partial to Sheeva.

Sonya and Kitana are locks for the game. Mileena should be there but I have a feeling she might not be. Sindel if they want a fourth.

Who I expect will be in the game:

Kitana - She's the quitessential MK babe. Sure, Sonya did it first, but Kitana had the charm, look, and moves to make her the darling of the MK universe.

Sonya - A founding member, and one of the first female fighters in history, Sonya has earned her place in the ranks of MK's greatest fighters.

Mileena - A fan-favorite, with good moves, and a head-hurting sense of sex appeal, she's the underdog "would-be" princess we can't help but root for.

Who I would WANT in the game:

Sareena - Sareena's journey to being a playable character is a long and hard one. She kept being planned, but kept getting scrapped. She made her "debut" on the nearly forgotten MK: Deadly Alliance handheld, then made her console debut on the rather unsatisfactory MK: Armageddon. That doesn't change the fact that she's got one of the best stories in the MK universe, a unique and conflicting personality between demon and beauty, an ever-shifting sense of right and wrong, a nice gothic visual look, and some deep-rooted importance in MK history.

Li Mei - A pretty face that was more than just her looks. Li Mei was a tragic heroine, an underdog, young, naive, and incorrigible, and it was refreshing to sort of learn with her. We could relate to her much easier than we ever could with Raiden or Scorpion. And she evolved too, and grew deeper as a character, showing a conflicted side to the MK world and showing that everything was just black & white.

Nitara - She's a vampire. Points for that already. She's a vampire with big bat wings. Even better. She's a hot vampire with big wings and a costume motif that makes Vincent Valentine look tacky. Nitara's all-too-brief Armgaeddon bio (R.I.P. bios...) was very insightful, and it actually served to set her up for several MK games to come.... er, well, it may be DC that's coming up next, but she's still deserves more recognition than she received and I'm still bitter she got cut from Deception.

I hope quite a few MK females make it into this. As well as DC females. It's time for another Glamor Slam.

I think it'll be Kitana, Mileena, and Sonya.

Those are the babes right there. Sonya, Jade, Sindel, Sareena, Nitara, Kitana... would probably be my top 4-6 to get in.

They're all popular, they all have a DC counter-part...that's just it.

Just a side note...I don't really think anybody "new" should be in this game. Since they're doing it, it's too important for someone "new to come in at this point. Don't waste a good spot..y'know?

I hope there are more females with nothing more than strings on for clothing because I play video games to look at pretentcious women that aren't even real and come onto their boards to discuss what they are going to look like because real women just don't cut it for me.

I'm realistically expecting around 15-18 characters from each company to be in the game. If thats the case, I would say about 5 should be female. These will almost definitely be...

I think those 3 are pretty much guarenteed. Boon said in some interview something along the lines of if you pick the main characters from the MK series, you will have 90% of the cast right. So yeh.. they should be in by that comment. And I also read somewhere that Sonya was confirmed along with Sub and Scorp, though I can't find where I read that.

The other 2 or so females would probably come from Li Mei, Jade or Sindel. Wishful thinking makes me say Sheeva, Tanya or Ashrah have a chance, but I doubt it.

There is pretty much no chance for Kira, Frost, Khameleon and Sheeva realistically though.

well i believe they have their roster all done with but just arent revealing yet who is apart of the playable roster..... at the moment im thinking only 2 girls will be in there for the Mk side and im thinking they will be Kitana and Mileena... i believe those are the 2 most popular MK girls these days.... ever since MKD Mileena's popularity sky rocketed up lol while Sonya's went far down compared to how popular she use to be.

There better be enough females in this game. Hopefully the “20 characters” thing is not final, it wouldn’t hurt to have a bit more. For a new next gen game, that’s just too little! And yes, I'm all for quality over quantity.

Now, on to topic, MK must definitely and obviously have:

1.- Sonya Blade

She is extremely iconic, very recognizable and one of the legendary classics of the game. Her role in the story has been important, constant and she has been around since the birth of MK, there's just no way this game could leave her out.

The original tough chick of the game better be there to kick som a** with her athletic specials and fighting style, blow some deadly poisonous kisses, toss some energy rings, do some vertical bicycle kicks...and if Ed Boon remembers the question I asked him ages ago (and that he replied): SHE BETTER HAVE HER LEG GRAB BACK! There's going to be HELL if Ed does strike 3 with that.

Plus, it would ROCK to see her VS Poison Ivy and Wonderwoman.

2.- Mileena

The original evil psychotic and crazed bitch of the game. Mileena, the super sexy clone with awesome teeth’s and a loving personality that must be shared with some of the DC cast.

Mileena’s popularity has always been great, but ever since MKD, it has been better then ever! She is surely a great choice. She was also tried to be made iconic with the release of MKD, and that worked well.

3.- Kitana

Another popular female of the series that has an obvious connection to the psychotic clone and storyline. She might not be as iconic as the first two, but she is still among the legendary classics (probably the best thing about her would be seeing the steel fans in action, those would look wicked!).

But what about the others?

Though obviously less iconic and recognizable, they have still made their name well known among the fans:

1.- Sindel (It would probably be the last chance we get to hope to see Ed do justice to her character by giving her the awesome hair powers and look)
2.- Nitara
3.- Frost
4.- Ashrah

If there were to be only two females: Sonya and Mileena.
If there were to be around four: Sonya, Mileena, Kitana, and any of the listed above.

I wouldn't expect anything more than Kitana and maybe Sonya. There are far more iconic characters than the likes of Mileena, and I don't think they're likely to be tokenist and include a character based on gender alone.

I agree with majority of you guys! Kitana, Mileena and Sonya are most likely to be in this game...

I would bet on Kitana, Mileena, and Sonya.

They're iconic, popular, and all that bullshit...but they also fill suitable roles. With Kitana, you have one type of heroine: a stoic, serious, low-key, colder character. With Sonya, you have the opposite: brash, hot-tempered, in-your-face. And then with Mileena you have a villainess/femme fatale.

I expect DC to follow suit. Wonder Woman, I'm sure is a given...as one of DC's big three. She also parallels the type of character Kitana is...stoic, disciplined, low-key. Then they'll probably look to one of their more down-to-Earth or "tough chick" characters....maybe Power Girl or Black Canary or Huntress. I could see them using Hawkgirl since people'll recognize her from the Justice League cartoon. And then a villainess or femme fatale character...so probably someone like Catwoman. Personally, I would choose Circe.

Since the roster is limited to ten each...I don't see them going further than that. As much as I'd love to see someone like Sareena make it in, there are more "iconic" characters deserving to make it in.

Sonya OR Kitana. Probably not both.

It'll obviously be Sonya, Kitana and Mileena.

Kira, Frost, Jade and Tanya are seen as obvious clones of pre-existing characters.

Sareena hasn't had any impact on the series despite an interesting story.

Sindel has a chance of being added to that list but what with only 10 MK characters, I doubt it. Cameo maybe...

Ashrah and Nitara is in the same boat as Sareena.

Sheeva would be quite cool, but even as a Sheeva fan, she just ain't popular with a lot of the fans.

And thats it. Unless we start a petition to get Khameleon in...again.

Well, I've really been thinking about it. There will probably only be 2 females if they are really doing this whole 20 character thing. That leaves 10 characters for each side.

So here's my breakdown of who will most likely show up:

It's almost gauranteed that everyone from MK 1 will show. And that's leaving out Goro, who I think will be in there somehow. This whole 10 character thing is pretty shitty. I'm sure Shao Kahn will make an appearance too.

Who knows?

It's pretty much up in the air right now. There are a lot of popular/iconic MK charachters.

I just hope and pray with all that I have that Sonya will make the game. She is my girl. And I hope she looks good... and like a woman this time around.

And Mileena is also another favorite of mine. I really hope that she makes it as well.

Personally, I'd consider Mileena more "iconic" than Johnny Cage and Kano.
