Ok, MKF, you're a good guy, so I'm not gonna be an ass to you of all people. Look, I know you're kinda pissed about the people who are bashing MK Vs. DCU nonstop, but you gotta differentiate these people. Sure, there are some who are just going "MK VS. DCU IS THE WORST GAME EVER IT'S GONNA SUCK", and although they might have more valid reasons in their mind, they're not expressing it, and THAT'S what bitching is.

This thread started out talking about people who are opposing MK Vs. DCU because of, as I said, the "big blank stinking hole" it leaves in the MK timeline. More specifically, it's about people who are opposing MK Vs. DCU because, as great as it turns out to be gameplay-wise, it will always be below what the majority of the fan base expected. I mean, speaking for myself, I can always forgive a couple mistakes here and there as long as a good part of what was hoped for in an MK game is delivered. In my case and in most people's cases, what they most want out of an MK game is not just great gameplay that isn't broken and totally fun, but a continuous, coherent, engaging storyline, not only for the overall game, but also for the characters separately and, more generally speaking, MK itself. No matter what qualities you guys may see in MK Vs. DCU (and I'm not throwing out the chance that there'll be qualities), nothing can erase the fact that this game will not deliver what I just mentioned. Even if the story is, by some heavenly miracle, very good, it'll still be a story centered about DC characters (-_-' ) and not Mortal Kombat, as we hoped.

Don't generilize, but try to see the point in what I've talked about in this thread's past rather than labeling all opposers of MK VS. DCU "Mk-haters".

As for queve, thanks a lot for the support, it's great to see you hanging around again. I feared that after this huge blow, you'd give up on MK and disappear for a good while, lol. Try to stick around! PM me sometime.

cant see how this ties in with what boon said about mk8 is gonna be real dark unless he was literally talking about you will need to turn up the brightness on the telly to see it.

plus side is they will make lots of money from mk8 as making it vs dc comics wasnt nothing more than a commercial business decision made probally by some exec dikhead totally unconnected to boon and his team designed to increase the potential buying market to help boost midways flagging stocks, whats the point of doing what the fans want, they put endless energy into crying and complaining all the time so they are gonna buy the game regardless cos they are already hooked.honestly i think boon get blamed for things that are not always his fault but his greedy money grabbing bosses.

minus side is gonna be the story line which started off ok but ended up as total crap by mka and will get to a new level of crapness for mk8 but itll be ok for the 10 year olds which shouldnt even be playing mk games.

Just thought I'd pop onto MKO to see if anyone else wasn't too happy with this concept. Glad to see people aren't. Someone just passed me a link to that trailer yesterday. Hadn't really looked at Mortal Kombat in a year or so. After seeing that trailer, I think I'll carry on to ignore it for a while until they decide to be what MK is again.

I could have understood if it was Street Fighter or something seeing as there are god knows how many parodies of that on the internet, but DC? Almost seems like they pulled this idea out of a hat.

Oh well, fingers crossed this won't be a let down. Have to wait and see how the it develops I guess! Just hoping they don't mess-up there first chance on the next gen consoles!

Not that this matters, but people loved the idea of Solid Snake in Brawl when it was announced. No one ever hated it

If anything, Batman will be the coolest looking DC add on in the game.
Losers like Aquaman, Flash, Plastic Man, Wonder Woman, and hell, I could go on... These visually impotent characters are what will drag this game down.

Perhaps DC has tighter storylines then Marvel, seems like the argument I've heard... But visually the Marvel roster has SO much more going for it that is isn't even funny... It's like DC never got out of the golden age.

MK is good because it has pretty decent stories and iconic looking characters, but most people buying MK games are probably drawn more to that iconic side.
Since the gameplay will probably be as pitiable as usual, visuals should be a strong selling point, so it of been that much cooler to have Marvel involved, plus, it be easier to make decent matchups.

and there be the problem; people are not understanding that some of us think dc comics is lame, while others think it is really cool and that is not likely to change. to calm things down we are all going to have to accept the fact some mk fans love dc and are in love with this idea, and some mk fans dislike dc and want a real next gen mk. for me if this new mk is akin to what was shown in the trailer i will pass and stick with soul calibur 4. one less mk vs dc copy shall be sold. but, i am sure that will not matter as the mk fans boon loses will be made up by the dc fans.

and for the others, not liking dc does not mean you are not a "real" mk fan, it means you have different tastes in what you think is "cool".

was the game called "nintnedo vs metal gear solid"? there is nothing wrong with guest fighters in a fighting game, i am all for it. what soul calibur has done, and is doing, is fine. but, when half the fighters are from a different series you lose the feel of a game and when those new fighters force a ratings change and remove classic elements from a series....well you get the idea.

batman as a guest fighter in mk8 = cool

batman and a bunch of his friends invading the mk series = not cool

Thanks for the support, fedegita. At least SOME people are understanding that what I made here was not just a pointless rant, and while I do think MK VS. DCU is a crap idea overall, I have much more solid reasoning and a much broader view of the situation as opposed to just saying "no Batman in MK!". And like I said before, this isn't just about me, 'cuz I'm sure there's plenty of opposers of the game around the world who share my reasoning, and are not just meaningless ranters.
